  1. Figured this game would’ve gotten more attention. Probably one of the better games in middle tennessee this season. I think Lebanon wins a back and forth affair. 31-28
  2. Bucs look to keep the momentum rolling against a very game Independence team. Can the Eagles spoil Beech’s homecoming?
  3. 4-0 Green Hill will cross 109 to take on 3-1 Lebanon. Should be another good one between two very good and talented squads. I expect a barn burner! I plan to be in attendance for this one. I’ll hold my prediction for later on in the week.
  4. This early in the season i think most expected the offense to be a work in progress. New QB, inexperienced RB’s, young line….i expected hiccups early on the season but i fully expect Crabtree to have them looking better as the year goes on.
  5. this game was a lot better than expected. SC scores as time expires, goes for 2 and the win and comes up short. Jackets win 34-33. 2 teams desperate for a win giving everything that had. what a game.
  6. I kinda feel bad for Portland. This is a “get right” game for Beech, and Portland are (un)lucky enough to be the poor souls on the other side of the ball. Bucs had back to back losses for the first time since 2014. The last time they lost 3 straight? 2006. And it will stay that way. Coincidentally, those 2 years they beat Portland by a combined 106-15. Beech comes out tomorrow night with a vengeance. Second half running clock. 49-7 final
  7. gonna be a fun one. I think the Bucs bounce back well from a tough loss to Collierville but Riverdale is always a tough outing on the road. One possession game that may come down to who has the ball last.
  8. Mt. Juliet’s own and former state runner up for Wilson Central, Alex Pergande, will be fighting on the PFL card at MSG this evening. Event begins at 5:30 CT on ESPN+

Mason at Summit might be what pushes them to compete for a title this year.
  10. Announced this afternoon, MBA will host the Journeymen Collegiate Wrestling Duals, December 18-19. Teams set to attend: #3 Cornell #9 NC State #10 Iowa State #12 Ohio State #15 Northern Iowa #22 Lock Haven #25 Pittsburgh Arkansas-Little Rock

    that is quite the rumor
  12. i think so. 2-3 scores at half. 35-40 point win. SC doesn’t have the firepower to hang around but this Bucs team will look a little different. I’m interested to see how quickly Powell gets acclimated. give me 42-7 Beech
  13. Best player out of Beech is definitely Jalen Hurd. Best relative unknown i would say is either Dorian Carter or Max Zinchini. Carter was a stupid good RB who just happened to have to share the backfield with Hurd. I wish he got a full year as the true #1. Zinchini on the other hand was just a freak athlete. Played WR/DB for the 09 state champion team and was always making plays. Had great hands, great route runner, great speed. Just never really cared and was more worried about off field things, and its a shame. Kid could've done great things.
  14. who said anyone’s accomplishments were a joke?
  15. i had to go back and re-read it to make sure it said what i thought it did
  16. you lost me. you think it’s easier to all american at the NCAA level than it is to medal in Tennessee..? that’s…. quite the take. Heck, it’s harder to make an NCAA roster than it is to medal in Tennessee. Let alone reach the podium. Just because there’s more high schools than colleges doesn’t mean it’s harder to place here lolol but thanks for the free comedy show
  17. first, let me be clear, this isn’t aimed at you, but the list in general. i don’t understand how you can have an “all state” in every class. it’s basically just listing the top 4 from state. 12 kids PER weight class don’t need to be all state. we don’t need 168 kids being named “all state”. it severely waters it down, especially when it’s just a copy and paste of state results. if we’re gonna do all state, then it needs to be just that.. “ALL State”. as in one group of all classes combined. Have a first-third team like college and pros do. 3 guys/girls from each weight across the state. just my 2 cents
  18. context? huge win either way.
  19. the loss does not define his legacy. he is still one of the GOAT’s of NCAA/Amateur wrestling. It’s been an absolute honor watching him compete. It’s impossible to come to a realistic opinion on this without knowing the details. You have to remember, last year he wrestled on 2 bum knees, with no ACL’s. Something we never would’ve known had Tom not told him to talk about it in his post match interview. That in itself proves to me that he would keep going no matter what, even if he was hurt. The fact that he lost, if he really was hurt, means there was no longer a reason to risk potential permanent damage. If the team title depended on it, i fully believe he would’ve kept going. But with going through the consolations meaning nothing more than just that, a consolation prize, for a guy who is going to go down as one of the greatest EVER, i don’t think it’s worth the risk. I get that kids look up to him, but that’s not a reason to risk potential permanent or career ending injury, if he was indeed hurt. And even if he wasn’t, who knows what kind of mental toll that loss took on him. So again i say, without knowing the entire story from his mouth or Tom Brands, you shouldn’t be bashing or calling out a kid who has done an astronomical amount for this sport in this country, just because you think he should’ve kept going for whatever reason. Especially without knowing what’s going on behind the scenes.
  20. Palmer avenges a loss earlier in the season to Zaccone of Campbell to make the SOCON final!!
  21. 106 - Cordero (Cleveland) 113 - Uhorchuk (Signal) 120 - Dupill (Greenville) 126 - Uhorchuk (Signal) 132 - Roark (Ryan) 138 - Desselle (Summit) 145 - Mason (Greenville) 152 - Dupill (Greenville) 160 - Norman (Dobyns) 170 - Stacey (Green Hill) 182 - Alvarez (Baylor) 195 - Medina (Science Hill) 220 - Fisher (MBA) 285 - Wolfe (Pigeon Forge)
  22. and with only 1 knee. I didn’t expect him to have any trouble with that bracket, i knew he was far ahead of the rest of the field, but doing it basically on one leg shows just HOW far ahead of the field he was. He already had my respect and admiration, but even if he didn’t, he would absolutely have it now.
