Cody Chittum wins 2022 Fargo Junior At 152 pounds in his last high school match. I believe he is TN’s 2nd Fargo Freestyle Champ ever. I know Elijah Oliver won Fargo one year in freestyle but I think that’s our only two Freestyle champs.

He is a Texas kid that moved to Chattanooga this spring as a UTC recruit. Not sure if he has another year of High School, if he will grey shirt or if he will be enrolling at UTC this fall.

This is nothing short of incredible.. most years we only get 4 to 6 AA’s..

It has been this way for a few years now. The TSSAA eliminated the travel restrictions for schools at least with wrestling back in 2017.

All Tennessee teams can attend tournaments in OHIO and there is no travel restrictions at the state level on travel.

Wow, just wow…. TN wins the Border Wars Backyard Brawl 35-17 over GA. TN won every single toss up match and had a couple of major upsets to absolutely blow Team GA off the mat. If you look at just the HS matches GA only won 3. On paper most everyone had GA as 6 point winners and the GA people were certain they were going to win. They only question in their minds was by how many points. Nobody saw TN winning this dual let alone crushing Team GA the way we did. TN > GA

The Elite 8 duals are this Saturday and Sunday in Atlanta. Over 91 top 20 kids and 8 #1 ranked kids. on Saturday morning before the event there is a Sammy Sasso Clinic Sat, April 2, from 8-9:30 and then you can watch the Elite 8 duals in Atlanta at the same event.. duals start at 11am. No he is not committed to Va Tech. He has not committed yet but he is close as he is deciding between several schools. But Va Tech is not in the mix. Most likely you were thinking of Hunter Mason who is committed to Va Tech or Cooper Flynn that is already there.

No, you can’t use TNAAU as a guide because in HS the majority of Chattonooga kids don’t wrestle TNAAU. if we did a region championship this year for HS, it would be the closest it’s ever been but Chattonooga would still win easily. 106 Jojo v Carson 50/50 113 Corday/Uhorchuk /Terrell 120 Uhorchuk 126 Bond 132 KV 138 Dendy 145 Hunter Mason 152 Dupil 160 Colby and Alley 50/50 170 Kodiak 182 Alverez 195 Harper or Tetoe 220 Gunner 285 Howard or Ashton even if we give the East both 50/50 matches, it’s 8 to 6 with equal number of bonus on both sides. If the East loses those 2 matches it’s a blow out.. Sorry but Chattanooga is still the center of wrestling in this state and know that I’ve spent almost my entire Adult life in East TN.

I’m extremely confident but Corday just has surgery again right after state so it will be a while before they will be able to meet. Corday is going to have a very prolific D1 wrestling career when he gets healthy. Bryson is a really good wrestler but Corday is an elite wrestler who is on another level. And Uhorchuck and Corday are training partners and Ethan helped get Corday get back into shape to wrestle at state so you really don’t want to make that bet.

I’m calling it now, Hunter Sturgill will end his TN career as a 4 timer and be nationally ranked top 5 at his weight and will go wrestle for a power 5 conference program. He is our next Cody, Cooper, and Hunter.
