  1. Truth is right. Playing up always helps. That's how you become a better player and an successful program better. No one would of guessed we would have had 8 out at last yrs game. It may have not helped us in the playoffs but it made them a stronger team. The coaches we have right know are doing a great job. I trust their judgement and reasoning. Page did come back out in the same offense the second half but they were shut down. I get it. You don't want to play Page. But we will be in Ruddersville next year because this is the first yr of the contract. And the Rockets will be even more hungry for that win. That's all I'm gonna comment on this. We have Community Friday night for Homecoming and I get to ride the fire truck this year!!!
  2. There were several reasons they renewed the contract with Page. One the new Region left the coaches with only two or three teams to pick from that night. Since Page is close, brings in a good gate, and became a instant rivalry with the kids, it became their first choice. I thought it was a great game. We lost but the boys played well. The secondary got a lot of reps defending the passing game and did real well. Which they will need down the road. I thought the offense really got clicking and driving the ball. Just got to control the turnovers. But that will get worked out this week. Plus No one got hurt! Thank goodness! This is a huge rivalry with the kids. That's why they were all upset after the game. I was proud of them.
  3. Westmoreland isn't a bad team. Take away two turnovers and the Forrest game is a lot closer. They fought every play till the end. Never quit! And they do have some speed. This will be Community's test. Pride is a heck of a player and the line has worked hard this summer. But how's the defense. I'm with FreeAgent11. I don't see a 21 point win. Westmoreland has something to prove. If community wins by 21 there will be one heck of a game sept. 18th in Chapel Hill. I'll have to say it's a close one. I'll give the edge to westmoreland.
  4. Gonna be a good one! Last two games have been hard fought games. The key to a Rocket win is stop the QB. Good secondary coverage and pressure and the Rockets pull this one out!!
  5. I'll guarantee you Forrest won't be overlooking Moore Co. Coach K and his staff will have these boys prepared and ready to fight a bear before Friday night! There is no quit in these kids. Also a lot of leadership from the seniors!

    9-A

Forrest should be pretty good! I think they only lost 3 starters, a pitcher, catcher, and center fielder. Several strong bats and plenty of speed to run for those strong bats! Anything less than another trip to the state will be a disappointment. But we will wait and see what happens! Just take it one game at a time.
  7. First of all best of luck to Chris and Brian. I hope yall do well! If you think Brian left Forrest for 13,000 your crazy. No amount of money would stop a father from seeing his children grow up at the school he works at. I think he left Forrest because he has ambitions to coach at a higher level and build a team from the ground up. He is a competitor. He will try to make it one of the best teams in the state. The way it played out is what got people so upset. A lot of favors were called in and people moved around to get him the job at Forrest. Being from Forrest he knows how loyal people are to there town and school. So I know this was a tough decision for him. As far as Chris goes. He left because of family. If I was in his shoes I would have done the same thing. The way he left was the problem. I think if he would have come out and explained to the players and administration what was going on things would have been better. Coaches have to remember there is a team of young men or women involved that their moves affect greatly. In both situations it was the circumstances of how they left the programs. I wish both Of them the Best of luck.
  8. It's the Forrest Rockets and we are in Chapel Hill. How long ago was that game yall dominated? 30+ yrs? i remember playing yall yrs ago but that was before my time. Yes yall should be a preseason favorite. After looking at your schedule how could you not be. But don't count out the boys to the south. Community will have it rough but the other three will be in the mix. I could care less who beat who in the past. All I care about is the season in front of us. I'm excited for our boys because this will be the first time in 5 yrs that we have had the same head coach two yrs in a row. They are already working hard in the weight room for next yr. Don't know much about the teams to the north. We have a pretty good line coming back. I really look to throw the ball more but we will be pounding it out on the ground first. Our backs have some big shoes to fill but we should be ok there. Our secondary is the only thing I'm worried about. They need to step up. I really look for us to finish up near the top. Anything less than third and I'll be disappointed.
  9. Tough loss for the rockets tonight! I knew it would be close. Riverside is a good team. They definitely watched game film and knew where any weaknesses were! Both teams played hard nose football. Riversides running back #1 has a motor we haven't seen this yr. That kid can fly! Hats off to you, y'all played a great game. Good luck to you in your next game! Very proud of MY ROCKETS! They played hard nose football the whole game and never gave up. Now this bunch of kids have never made EXCUSES nor have they laid down and quit!!! Proud of all of you and what you have accomplished as a team! Proud of the seniors! I know it's tough being your last game but you played your hearts out and that's all that matters. I can bet both teams will use a lot ice tmrw! Several kids got pretty beat up. Now cwoodball I am thinking your from collinwood. Who will not play the rockets anymore after the beating last time they came to the hill. If I'm wrong please accept my apology! Real Rocket fans and formal player don't make excuses. We play the game with everything we have till the last second. That's the way it should be! That's what we teach our kids!!
  10. My bad! The score on the schedule had 14-7. Thought it was a tight game!
  11. After looking at all of Riversides wins and loses I have one question. So what did Jackson Christian do to Riverside to make it such a close game?
  12. i have no problem with trash talking. But If the kids were saying racist things during the game Coach Palmer needs to have a talk with Coach K and get that kicked in the butt! There is no place anywhere for that crap. And I mean anywhere!! But if it's just trash talk, walk away and smile. There are kids that are gonna run that mouth but why would you try to "carry it on after the play or after the game". That's not smart! In today's world your gonna get ejected and sit a few games. Or suspended and sit a few games. Then the kid running that mouth wins because you let him in your head. You lose and your team loses because your not on the field where you should be helping them! I've told my boys since they were little, let the Talkers Talk, you play your game and smile. Now your in their head!!
  13. There were probaly 10+ on the sidelines hurt but not all were starters. But the radio was wrong. I just counted 7 off the top of my head. There was 10, 21, 22, 38, 2, 32, and two lineman that may have seen limited time. I can't think of their numbers. Yes that played a huge roll in that loss but it's still a loss. I truely believe the team that played last night wins that game by 20 pts. But it doesn't matter, games over and cuddos to Huntland for playing a great game. I was surprised 21 and 10 didn't play defense last night. The ones that did played well. Don't be surprised if MTCS wins over Huntland. Winn is the real deal. He got rocked a few times last night. Slow to get up a few times and still played to the end. Nothing but respect for that young man. Just my opinion but I'll say MTCS over Huntland. You know opinions everybody has one!
  14. I would keep them both out till MTCS. If 21 goes he only needs to play qb. There are other kids that can QB. 17 and 8 both have played there. If anything snap it directly to 6. He can run it and can throw the ball a country mile.
  15. 12 had surgery this morning on his hand. Broke it Friday night! Out for the season. Most everyone else should be back this Friday. 10 and 21 still questionable but could play!
  16. The only advantage I saw was the batters were scooting up in the box. Sometimes they even had their back foot from the middle to the front of the plate. I think they were doing it because they were trying to get to the breaking ball before it broke. They had problems with it in the contest before. We don't have anyone throwing in the 90s so moving up wasn't a problem.
  17. I guess I see it as part of the playing field. If there are rules surrounding it then they should be in place. Just like coaches boxes and foul lines. If you hosting a region championship game these things should be painted or chalked. The foul line in the dirt at 1st and 3rd base needs to be there. Not a painted line in the grass that was painted two days before and mowed the day of the game. Now neither one of these things had a bearing on the outcome of the game. Just a pet pev!!
  18. Why is it not a Tssaa rule that batters boxes are required to be chalked out before a game and that the foul lines are clear and unbroken, even in the dirt?
