  1. How did Friendships o-line do? How much better did they look than Gordonsville. I know our backs can perform. Just need a line
  2. did you attend the scrimmage? If you did I would feel better. I don't know hardly anything about Upperman. I just have a bad feeling about this one. There's tons of excitement for this game up Baxter I am sure though. I just hope the players don't overlook them and say same ole same ole Upperman.
  3. I expect Friendship to put it on Dekalb. They've got some great backs returning. However I only have Dekalb losing to Trousdale and Livingston. Call me crazy but they looked good against Gville. But I heard today Dekalb told the Gville coaches that they were only gonna be in a 40 defense the whole scrimmage but switched between a 40 a 5-3 Stack and 50 all night. And the inexperienced line had no clue who to block. That's not an excuse for the o-line but im sure it had to mess with them some.
  4. It's gonna come down to if UHS can stop GHS running attack. That's the bottom line. If Cason rushes for more than a 100 I have Gville. If he rushes for less Upperman will win. With that being said I'm gonna make a bold prediction and say Tigers-27 Bees-21 Bees will be up at halftime. But the better conditioned Gville team and repeated tough Cason carries wear down the Bees late
  5. He shoved him in the back. No doubt about it. 20 yards behind the runner and to the left of the play. It should have not been called that far away from the play. But I'm ready to talk about the 2013 season. As I hope you are.
  6. If a horrible block in the back penalty on the blocked fg wasn't called the 'Stangs doesn't have a chance. Do you know how much of a momentum shift that was? Woulda Coulda Shoulda its over with.
  7. I just don't have a lot of respect for some of these West TN teams after what happened in the two state championship games last year for this division. Yes Gordonsville only beat Huntingdon by 1 point but Huntingdon steam rolled through other West teams in the playoffs. Gordonsville had 3 tough playoff games before going to Cookeville. And do I even need to bring up the 2A State game? I got it as 1.)SP 2.)Coalfield 3.)Gville Maybe I'm just looking through my blue glasses but that is how I see it. Nashville Christian lost most of their team in that #7 anyways. Kid had some wheels.
  8. Home or away? I would love to watch those two boys play before they strap it up in Orange.
  9. I guess they want him fresh for defense. But I would want him in the game as much as possible. Maybe run him extra in practice so he can go both ways? I would try something
  10. Why don't they let Gill play O-Line? I'm sure he could open a hole or two after watching him handle our interior O-Line
  11. The one that Gville drove that ball the length of the field I believe Trapp took the starters out that started last year. I think that's what he did. It was about 3-4 players. But still if this was a real game Dekalb would have won regardless. But good showing by Gordonsville. They didn't back down. I expect a better showing by Gvilles O-Line Thursday against Livingston.
  12. What were the numbers that started last year? We brought back 7 on offense and 11 on defense that's it
  13. I wouldn't call it reloaded but the cupboard certainly isn't bare. This team is very very very inexperienced. I seem some rookie mistakes out there especially on the o-line. But they will get better week to week. And be alright in the playoffs. I'm not saying they can beat SP or Coalfield but they better not sleep on Gordonsville and bring their A game. Or they will be shocked.
  14. The explaination I got was that the Dekalb coaches told the refs to blow it dead if Jennings got touched. They didn't want to get him hurt. But apparently on that Miami Screen they blew it too early for the coach's liking.
  15. I came away pretty impressed. Our defensive front was the most impressive. I don't know if Dekalb had many positive rushing yards. Secondary got burnt a time or two but that can be ironed out with time though. Offensive line was probably the disappointment though. Not very good blocking. Left guard went down in the 2nd series and it really wasn't the same. The backs ran hard. Wasn't impressed or really disappointed in Cason though he ran average. The QB threw pretty bad to start the game but got better as it went on. Maybe nervousness to start? I don't know. Pretty good first scrimmage on GV's part. I believe starters was 2-2. Got to keep improving though. Especially o-line and secondary.
  16. I came away pretty impressed. Our defensive front was the most im
  17. I don't want to hear any excuses about SC's numbers. Every year when SC beats Gordonsville, we say it's logical because of the bigger school. But they've always said both teams have 11 on the field. So if it doesn't work for Gville it shouldn't work for SC/UHS/York/Cannon
  18. I can't wait for tommorow, it is football time again. I hope I can have a couple of answers tommorow on this inexpiernced G-Ville team. How will the young offensive line look against Gill and Friends? Has Cason lost anything since last year. Can he still run with not as much blocking? Can Noah Smotherman throw as good as everyone has hyped him up to be? Who's gonna replace Brandon McCoy as the leading tackler? Can't wait to find out in Smithville at 5:30 tommorow.
  19. If you don't believe me http://www.eteamz.com/owlsfootball/files/teamgbg.htm 6,123 to be exact. I was over by a little
  20. Smith County at Gordonsville Week One. Big as it gets imo. 6500 fans attended last year. The schools are about 6 miles apart. It's a great atmosphere.
  21. Didn't Gill and the Upperman offensive line go at it last year? It shouldn't be that much of a question who is better. And what is Dekalbs upcoming running back's strength? Speed? Power? A little bit of both?
  22. Doesn't get much better than these three places. Especially in the playoffs. Although I believe I like Gordonsville the best. The fans are right on top of the field.
  23. Had a good talk with one of our players today(Gordonsville) and he said Livingston was the 2nd best team they played(behind Friendship) in the passing camps. They also played Upperman but wasn't very impressed with the Bees. The scores were Gville 3-2 over Upperman and Livingston over Gville 2-1. They also played Cannon and Macon Co. Apparently Cannon and Macon looked pretty rough. The scores were not pretty. My prediction for this district is: 1.)LA 2.)DC 3.)SC 4.)UHS
  24. scrimmaged the same teams last year and handled them very well except Dekalb, we didn't play as well that day. Should be a good measuring stick for the upcoming season. Especially that brand new o-line
