Bearden goes to DB and Farragut will just Morristown West. Catholic goes to Sullivan South and CAK will host ?????

I was in the room. Trust me, I know exactly what was discussed and who nominated whom. It was very interesting!!!

PhillyAl, I was in the meeting where the district coaches voted on MVP and other district awards in 2012. It was held at Catholic and it was a an anonymous vote by all district coaches. I'm sure he voted for her but she, obviously, did not win. If I remember correctly, it was Emma Milstead from Farragut. I do have some great stories about the conversations held in that room that would blow some of you away!!!

Webb is in a weak division. They should win it.

They split with Catholic in their district. Catholic and CAK tied for first in district and will, barring a miracle, will play again for region title in 3 weeks. Then Catholic and CAK will play either Sullivan South or Sullivan East for right to go to state.

Not just club players but good club players. Or should we say, talented athletes period. Forget coaching, great players make a great coach. Ask John Wooden. I know plenty of teams with club players who don't win because the other team has better athletes and players. Period. I've coached many teams and lost to much inferior coaches because they had betters athletes than I did. Period. That goes for Webb, Farragut, HV...and so on.

K2, You couldn't be more incorrect on that! Are you on the K2 payroll? Sound like a mouthpiece for them. Blah, blah, blah! K2 is about money..it's a business first and foremost! They do a heckuva job self-promoting and marketing! But lost a bunch of kids to KVA. Wonder why?

Here are a few I have seen this year but by no means is an exclusive list. Sullivan South, Catholic, Hume Fogg, CAK and Sullivan East.

Farragut won the 5th Annual Blarney Stone Invitational at Catholic this weekend. Farragut went undefeated in their pool with Science Hill, Morristown West, Kings Academy, and Sullivan East. catholic went undefeated in their pool with AC, Grace, Notre Dame and DB. Catholic lost to M- West in semis and Farragut beat DB to advance. Farragut cruised in finals.

Catholic beat CAK on Wed at CAK. Both teams plus South will be in mix. Don't forget about Sulliavn East.

Yes, I was there and Bearden is pretty good. Very athletic. They will surprise some people this year. They are huge up front and Carrie is a good setter. I heard they lost at CAK but the Warriors are tough as well. Tough start for Bearden at Catholic and CAK.

Catholic beat Bearden on Monday night 25-16, 21-25, 15-25, 25-14 and 15-9.

This reads like a middle school chat room after a school dance. "Our club is the best!" "No our club is the best." "If you don't coach a club team, you're not a good coach." Yadddda, Yadddda, Yadddda.

Knoxvolley, No worries! Love your passion! I'm just concerned about how bifurcated the volleyball community has become. Heck, sounds like even teams are being torn apart. Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!

Big Blue, my daughter is too young play..only 5. I play and coach a little. All this breaks my heart. Club seems to be turning into a "necessary evil." Wish all the negativity could be suppressed. Wishful thinking, eh?

I wish a moderator would "nuke" this discussion! These type of discussions are why club volleyball is getting such a bad "rap" in many volleyball circles. ALL clubs have their pros and cons, good and bad (coaches included). Enough with the ridiculous, childish attacks from all sides. Let it go! Many volleyball veterans are disgusted at what volleyball has morphed into. For so many players, coaches and parents, it's no longer fun at the club, high school or college levels. I read the other message boards on CoachT and they rarely have these acerbic attacks that we seem to have on the volleyball board. It's so easy to hide behind a screen and take shots players, coaches...and now, even parents. I'm always reminded of the old saying, "Talk is easy. Achievement is difficult." Can we please stop this nonsense? It's only perpetuating some very negative stereotypes pinned these days on our beloved sport and what it has become. PEACE, LOVE and Volleyball.

Everyone, please take orcat with a grain of salt. They are simply trying to stir pot. All the teams in Knoxville are capable of a loss as evidenced by the matches this year. Everyone beats up on each other. There are some very good teams in this area. Many will got to state and anything can happen there. Some teams are getting healthy. Catholic had injuries to 2 starters for first few weeks and they were 2-9. They have gone 28-10 with those girls back and healthy playing a tough schedule. Webb, Farragut, Bearden, Hardin Valley and CAK are all very talented and have very good coaching. Lots of parity this year in area. The frosh at Oak Ridge is talented, no doubt. But there are some very talented players in this area as well. Only time will tell if she continues to improve. Bottom line is this....Farragut has most talent in this area and when they want to play it's a herculean task to beat them.
