  1. Be thankful for the monsoon Friday night or it would have been 49-6. Tough? How many Jo Byrns players were helped off the field? 5 or 6 at least.
  2. Coalfield is done, PERIOD. Second round maybe. But that's it. Nashville Christian vs Greenback in BC/BS Bowl - Toss Up
  3. Did you miss the part about NCS whooping up on Lancaster about a week before Week 0? Like 36-12
  4. Weather was a huge factor, continuous heavy down pour from 2nd QTR on. And well, about 7 runs of 30 plus yards by NCS were wiped out by, let's say "late flags". It was getting ridiculous. When JB had the ball, ref covers it up a towel, NCS possession no towel. JB's first TD came on incomplete pass as QB being sacked throws the ball into ground, everyone kind of stops, JB player picks it up and runs 45 yards for TD. Refs rule fumble, horrible officiating, but you expect that playing at the Dungeon.
  5. CA is in for a battle. Prediction Harpeth 33 - CA - 21 CA is overrated.
  6. Lancaster has some great athletes. Nashville Christian scrimmaged them and although we laid a beating on them, they did complete a few long passes for TD's. Seems like the score was 6 TD's to 2.
  7. Rain hard most of second quarter and all of second half. Jo Byrns never quit as we all knew. Agree with Shep that good weather and these two teams would be fun. Rooting for Jo Byrns against "the academy". Good luck the rest of the season.
  8. The Dungeon and Gordonsville are two loudest stadiums I've ever been too. Although I've teased the Jo Byrns fans, culture, and pretty much everything held sacred in Cedar Hill this week, I have great respect for the team and fans. May it be a well played game by both teams!
  9. Gees Guys, have you been skipping Sunday School at the local First Baptist Church? Human sacrifices were part of pagans and heathens culture not "religulous" people. Obviously we need to send some missionaries your way. Satan visits Butchie at the Church One bright, beautiful Sunday morning, Butchie and almost everyone else in tiny Cedar Hill, TN wake up early and go to the local Baptist church. Suddenly, at the altar, Satan appears!! Everyone starts screaming and running for the front entrance, trampling each other in their determined efforts to get away from Evil Incarnate, except for Butchie, who sit calmly in his pew, seemingly oblivious to the fact that God's ultimate enemy is in his presence. This confuses Satan a bit. Satan walks up to Butchie and says, "Hey, don't you know who I am?"Butchie responds in his brash way, "Yep, sure do." Satan says, "Well, aren't you afraid of me?" Butchie says, "Nope, sure ain't." Satan, perturbed, says, "And why aren't you afraid of me?" Butchie says, "Cause I've been married to your sister for 25 years."
  10. You can count on me Brother Butchie! However, Thoust should not be in anticipation of such a decree as I saw a vision in which the champion named Eagles, with players heights of six cubits and a span, wearing bronze helmets and coats of scale armor of bronze weighing five thousand shekels journeyed to the land of the devils of red and by the grace of God (along with 346 rushing yards by Butuli & Swannie) laid waste to said heathens.
  11. Hopefully you'll meet our Nashville Christian team in the semi or finals. Both teams play similar styles. That would be a great game.
  12. Greenback should be #1 in 1A period. After that comeback against Oneida there's no doubt.
  13. Examiner.com's Week 4 Statewide Picks by Donovan Stewart Nashville Christian beats (stomps a mud hole in) Jo Byrns ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ What Donovan really meant!
  14. I Highly doubt NCS would ever go to DII. We simply can't afford it. Maybe to 2A if the enrollment rises. We are a relatively inexpensive private school and rely heavily on fund raising efforts like hosting consignment sales. Most of our parents (me included) sacrifice greatly in order to send our kids there. Public schools in Davidson County are not good options as most people know due to gangs and drugs. NCS is the closest thing you'll find to a small town school. The admin and teachers work tirelessly and also sacrifice financially to make it the great educational experience it is.
  15. Brothers played at Brentwood academy under Flatt and went on to be an All-Southeastern Conference defensive back at Vanderbilt in 1992, He was an assistant at BA and Christ Presbyterian Academy before being pegged to be head coach at newly opened Pope John Paul II in 2002.
  16. I agree with TheAmbassador. Greenback is the odds on favorite to hoist the trophy in 1A. Though Rockwood (2A) might knock out a few of your players prior to playoff time. They are salivating at a chance to knock your guys around.
  17. The Good News / Bad News Good News - NCS's injured players were cleared by Vanderbilt Sports Medicine today to play this week. Bad News - If you're a rabid Jo Byrns' fan you might want to go stay home and watch "wraslin" or put on your finest "camo" and take mama out on the town to Shoney's and skip this game. "Cause dem dar Eagles are bring'n da Pain Train to dem dar Red Devils Friday night" Think Oregon v Tennessee beat down style if you need a reference.
  18. I hope Coalfield runs the score up. Coalfield 77 - Oliver Springs - 6
  19. I was at the game and I don't think this happened. Seem to be very good sportsmanship from both teams. He wouldn't have anything to be mad about as NCS really eased up mid way through the 2nd quarter. It could have easily been 90 - 0 but Coach Brothers has great class and won't run the score up.
  20. This must be a feeble attempt at humor. This game will be ugly quickly and "the academy" will score at will. I'll say 63-6 with the clock running the entire second half. This game shouldn't even have it's own topic. It's a waste of electronic storage
  21. Class 1A Record Pts Prv 1. Humboldt (11) 3-0 168 1 2. South Pittsburg (2) 3-1 155 2 3. Dresden (1) 3-1 132 3 4. Greenback 3-1 120 5 5. Cloudland (3) 4-0 107 7 6. 22. I watched 4 quarters of Collinwood's cheap shots, taunting our players and crowd, Cwood players hitting our star RB in the groin, scratching and poking our players in the eyes while in a pile, it was the absolute worst I've seen in 30 years of watching football last year when Nashville Christian visited Collinwood. There are some of these cheap shots on video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Znds-lTbfOo
