As far as Humboldt that population number includes anyone with a humboldt zipcode. Some of those people live in Madison County and some live outside the city limits and send their kids to South Gibson.

and we've beat Humboldt the last three years. But that don't count this year does it?

Former player William "Willabe" Harris drown today. I never meet a happier more respectful young man. I can't remember ever seeing him without a huge infectious smile on his face. Prayers and condolence for his family.

I stand corrected but one title in a town that size shows size of the town doesn't matter.

All this talk about size of towns is funny. No Jackson school has ever won a championship. The size of the town or school doesn't matter near as much as work ethic and coaching. 3 years ago Peabody had a more talented team than Dresden but we still lost to them in the playoffs. They worked hard than us and executed better.

Yeah Hev we are a stout region but looking at it we appear top heavy. No offense to some of the other teams but you have four at the top that will pretty much always be there. The teams at the bottom can't help it they are limited due to numbers.

Yeah I believe the cutoff was 400 and I want to say I was told last season that our enrollment was going to drop a little next year. Can't remember but I think I was told it would be 10-20 less than this past year.

We've had some good games lately even if we were robbed 3 years ago. I'll never understand the delay of game call on 4th and 1. I believe that cost us that game. Bad officiating on that call. The game this season should be epic.

BigPurp I'm sure he was talking about 1A teams since it is a thread about the favorite to win 1A. Isn't Milan 3A?

I believe that as long as the classifications stay the same UC and Peabody will be the dominant 1A powers in the west if not the state for years to come.

My earlier post was not meant to bad mouth Coach Jacobs. I obviously didn't know he had been a OC anywhere. He was a heck of a DC and I love his fire. Hope he can keep the train a movin. ROLL TIDE!!!

We were shocked by Woods sudden departure. I believe Jacobs was here under Coach Scott. I'm sure Haney will look around for someone with head coaching experience first before promoting Jacobs. He's a good DC but look what happened the last time we made a DC a HC. It didn't go well. I hope whoever is hired doesn't change our offensive system. I was told that Jacobs wants to run a similar system to Huntington or Union City. I don't like that idea. You don't run a ball control offense with a team full of race horses.

I haven't heard anything from Tide fans about Gaddis coming back. All I've heard since he left was how he was going to Oak Ridge till the Milan job opened up. I didn't and don't buy that one. I think Gaddis is where he wants to be and isn't going anywhere.

I'm a diehard Tide fan. Me, my brother and my father along with my son and two nephews played for the Tide. My son played for Gaddis and one of my nephews plays now. I'm thankful for Woods and what did this last 2 years and wish the best of luck in Starkville. I respect Gaddis and enjoyed him as a coach but I don't want him back. He moved on and so did we. I appreciate all he did while he was here but I don't want to be looking for another coach in a year or so. I believe Haney will look around and see what he can find and will also give a thought to promoting Jacobs. I don't see us having any problems find a replacement. We have great facilities, plenty of talent and a good fan base. When we hired Woods Haney said that he had a ton of applicants for job so it's seems like coaches see what we have to offer. Our program is strong and will continue to be so. ROLL TIDE!!! And thank you Coach Woods!!!

It might not be a loss. Three years ago we lost in OT, two years ago we won and this year's game was close. Next year should be another good game.

Have seen what we have coming back? We should be as good next years as we were this year. We took some hits on the line and defense but we have some talent that can fill those spots.

My son graduated 2 years ago. He played football with all of them since he was in elementary school. They are all products of Trenton.

We in Trenton thank you! You guys are class acts. Glad we could represent the west and bring the gold back.

Everyone thought I was exaggerating our speed. Now they know better. Good game MC. #1 has a lot of heart.

Congrats UC on the gold ball now hopefully we can bring a second one home to 14A.

MC is the kind of team I worry about. If can't get their offense off the field and allow them to grind it out and eat the clock we could be in trouble. If we can get them off the field and get the offense rolling we should be ok. IMO this game comes down to which team's defense can make the stops needed.

Coach Woods just timed our boy's 40's again and was so upset he quit cause they were so slow they used an hourglass.
