Safe Travels to Heritage heading to AC tonight, hope we have a good game and it is injury free. My prediction: AC 38 Heritage 17

Don't bunch all of us fans in that category, I think some of our fans are delusional, Greeneville is in my opinion the best 4A team in the state right now. AC is good, not great like some of our fans seem to put on. I think Greeneville is a few TD's better than AC right now, mostly because of the schedule. I don't even know why anyone is even discussing this matchup seeing how they may not even meet up. AC has a lot of football left to play and hopefully they finish strong and continue to grow. When the Playoffs begin you never know what may happen, but I hope would hope most people on here realize that you have 1 or 2 Mav fans calling out teams and acting like we are state champs, most fans at AC are pretty Football savy and hence you will see how they comment. I love my mavs, and hope they continue, but also realize that stepping over doormats does not equal blowing the door open. This game was very ugly, AC did not have to do much to get out with a comfortable win, Howard had some players and with support and a good coaching staff I think they could be competitive, but they just don't have either. JV Played most of the second half with running clock and AC never did anything spectacular to get to that point. AC also got a lot of good reps with some young guys early, the freshman #10 is going to be a stud. They did seem to clean up the penalties some in this game and that was even with an early scrum and I was glad to see that, this game could have gotten real chippy real quick and I think they did a good job keeping them reeled in. The next 2 games will hopefully be better competition, so far Clinton is the best team that AC has played and AC won that one pretty handidly. I feel for Howard, those kids do not have any support and they deserve it, they could have a good program if they did, the Athletes are their, just not much else after that. The band was good though, they have a good time. Hopefully AC stays Healthy and goes into the bye week 7-0.

Hog, no offense, but it looks like if AC wanted to run through the schedule line you claim this year when we deffinately would have made sure CC was on the schedule. Seems you just won't let it go for some reason, I have said for years that this whole CC and AC pissing contest is rediculous and it seems that it is just a few that keep wanting to take jabs, but you seem to always be in the middle of it. He Last time CC and AC played, CC supposedly had the better team with all those good seniors and AC had just lost that great senior class with Hicks, Strickland Campbell etc...that last to West the previous year. All we herd all season leading up to that game was how CC was going to beat AC and make us line it, how exactly did that turn out? Oh I remember, CC got ran off the field the second half because the AC coaching staff made adjustments and brought pressure and CC had no answer for it. I love the price boys and what they are doing up their and wish CC all the luck in the world. I hope they do well, but fans that keep this jabbing for no apparent reason when they couldn't beat AC with their best team and AC in a "rebuilding" year is exactly why everyone is sick of hearing about this rivalry. All I hear from CC fans is how AC is dodging them etc...but yet how many did we win over CC? You like to throw out Championships etc trying to down AC all at the same time while CC tries claimin Co-Championships. Lol, I usually try to keep the peace and think that both sides have. A lot of growing up to do, but it gets old hearing about how AC is down, scheduling wins, blah blah blah, maybe CC fans need to come to the conclusion that CC is not as relevant as they like to think. You can say what you want about AC, and yes, Greenville is better IMO, but hanging on other teams succes against a team you don't like does not all of a sudden make CC better. CC doesn't want any of AC this year, I can assure you of that.

I catch heck from some of the AC folk for it, but I call it like I see it. We are much better than last year, but not quite their yet. This is a Junior heavy team that I think will be very good next year. As far as the 35 points, I don't think I would put the spread at that though. We will see when the time comes, still got a lot of football to play. If they get disciplined I would make it closer, but this team plays too loose. I don't know the stats for the whole year, but they have to be averaging over 150 yards a game in penalties. If it was 1 or 2 games I would feel better, but every game we have them so I am beginning to think it's just the way this team is wired. Friday we had 160 yards in penalties and 5 turnovers. Do that against good teams and we are beat.

Not sure why we are talking about Greenville right now, but as of now I would pick Greenville to win state. Greenville is a legit team, AC is pretty good, but if we were playing Greenville this week I would have to put the score somewhere around Greenville 35, AC 17. If AC can start cleaning up the sloppy play and penalties than it would be closer, but after 4 games their is no sign of that happening. If any of our Maverick faithful are being honest with themselves than they have to see that we are not where we need to be, I hope I am wrong, but I always call it honest. I remember a few years back we had a great offense and good team, beat Powell on the road and we're on top of the world, until we got ran off the field by West. Stats don't mean anything, we have not played anyone yet, and from the looks of it may not until the second round.

AC once again put up big numbers, the concern for me stays the same though, 5 turnovers and what feels like 300 yards in penalties. They can be scary good if they ever decide to clean it up. All 10 of Clintons points came off of short field turnovers, AC can run through the schedule, but if they do not get it cleaned up it is going to cost us, when we meet up with a team line Greenville we will need to play a complete game, we probably had more penalty yards than Clinton had on offense tonight. Love the ability this team has and to have that many yards in penalties and turn the ball over 5 times and still win by 39 tells you how good they can be.

oh trust me, I know we have not played anyone yet lol. I just hope this schedule does not backfire on us when we do play some good teams AKA Greenville in the playoffs. AC has not finished healthy in a few years and it has really hurt down the stretch due to depth and talent once you get past the starters. Hopefully we can build depth and stay healthy and maybe surprise someone when we get in the playoffs. The problem is that everyone else will have been tested and we will not, that scares me, but we will see. Still a good group and I think that next year they will be even better, but nothing gets you ready like playing good teams.

Viewing Clintons opponents and scores compared to what AC has done I think AC gets the Win comfortably. From what I have heard AC handled Scott pretty good in pre season and blew out Carter and should have been worse than what it was and they beat Seymore which played Clinton tough. I like the direction Clinton is headed and think they hit a home run with Mckamey (forgive my spelling lol), but I just think AC has too much for them this year. All rivalries have surprises, so look for Clinton to do some good things, but in the end it will be all AC I believe. Mason and Gallahar have big nights Friday and Stanton will hit some big plays. CC will find a way to score early, Justin does a good job getting them ready and having a good game plan, so I look for this one to be closer than expected in the first half and OR to pull away in the second half. If rain becomes a factor than it could get interesting if the offenses are sloppy. Halftime: OR 21 CC 14 Final: OR 41 CC 20

No disrespect intended to Hixon on this one, but I just do not think they can come close to hanging with AC, I think this one will be over at Halftime and the younger guys get a lot of reps, rest up for the rivalry game next week. No score prediction on this one, just AC big

I am a huge Maverick Fan, but almost all of the penalties against AC were in my opinion pretty good calls, of coarse their are one or 2 that were not, but overall I thought the calls were legit, especially the PI calls. I thought all of the PI calls were the right call. Our DB's are going to have to learn to play in position and to play the ball or they are going to have a lot of these called. AC could be a dangerous team if they clean up these penalties, so far that has been the biggest downfall I have seen with this team. They do not have blazing speed, I get that, but they can still play sound football, the combination of not having good team speed on the backend and not playing sound is going to hurt down the road. If I was a team and had any speed I would throw the ball deep 20x against us, until we show we can defend it without getting called for PI their is no reason not to. Like I said, this team can be very, very good if they play sound, but 2 weeks in a row the penalties have cost them, I hope they get that fixed because it will get us beat against a good team. Halftime AC up 28-16, AC looks very solid at times and run defense is pretty strong. Secondary needs work, let a long ball get behind for a big score and then had 3 or 4 PI calls, all of which I thought were good calls, because our DB's keep getting beat and then not looking for the ball. Hopefully we clean it up 2nd half and put his one away. Could very well be up 35-7 right now.

If AC Cleans up the sloppy play and plays the way they are capable they will pull away in this one, if they have other night full of penalties and mistakes then WB has a shot. Either way I think AC gets the win Friday, I just think they have too much offense. And if they do not fix the Kick Coverage team quickly I fear they will allow teams a short field all year and multiple run backs, got to get that fixed, AC can stay out of shootouts and put teams away if they just play disciplined and not give the other teams short fields and free scores.

I hope AC Cleans it up with the penalties and missed coverages. If they would have played a solid game in the first half and cut down on the penalties it would have been over at halftime. I think Carter is going to struggle this year, they looked very young and small. Hopefully most of the penalties were it being the first game of the year. If AC has those same mistakes against a tough team in a dogfight it will cost them. I have faith that Davey and Company will get it straightened out, this team can be pretty good if they play a complete game, their is some good talent and decent size on this squad. What I do like, is their does not seem to be that one great player and then everyone else, team speed may be an issue, but other than that this team looks pretty solid across the board. QB can be very good, Running backs are tough and hard nosed and the line seems solid. I think they can have a very good season if they just clean up the sloppy play.

Anyone know the stats from last night? AC looked pretty good, especially the second half. They need to sure up their Kick Coverage and get the penalties under control, they do that and they win by another 2 scores last night. If this team can cut down on their mistakes they look like they can go pretty far and have a real good season. Stanton can be special. I like the bruising way they are running the ball right now as well, I hope they can keep that up all season.

I have picked CC to win each week this year and both weeks have been very surprised about the outcome, so I guess I will go with Lenoir City this week and maybe CC will win lol. Lenoir City: 21 CC: 7
