  1. Coach P will take this one. Fayetteville 42-21
  2. This may turn out to be a pretty good game. Ravenwood has a much larger student body, better facilities, bigger athletes, and a winning tradition. Page on the other hand has always struggled to get the recognition of the big Wilco programs. Well times have changed. At least this season. Page looks like a contender and although in a smaller classification they are undefeated this season and they have plenty of momentum going into this one. Ravenwood didn't look very good against Centennial but since then they have collected themselves and put together a couple of victories. In the end I will go with my gut and take the visiting Raptors. Ravenwood 28-21.
  3. This one may get ugly early for Boyd. BGA is strong this season. Coach Roc has things firing on all cylinders and the QB Martin is the real deal. BGA 35-7
  4. Franklin has historically done well against Metro schools but McGavock is undefeated and winless Franklin is averaging just 9 points a game after three games. To say this season is a bust for Coach Webb and crew is a bit premature but I don't think anyone saw an 0-3 start.
  5. Several people pick these two teams in the top three with Fayetteville. From what I've read they have played twice with Cornersville winning in two close games. Although I'd like to see the little school from Williamson County pull this one off. With the game being played at Cornserville it's going to be a tough one. I'll stick with my local team and say GCA 35-28.
  6. Game was cancelled due to a flooded field. Good luck to everyone else.
  7. Why is this thread still getting action? Maryville fought hard with a banged up team and almost pulled out the victory.... almost. Oakland prevailed and we move on to week three. The rest of the comments on here can start new topics on new threads.. That is all.
  8. No way GCA beats Waverly by 30. It's going to be a wet field and it will be tough for either team to put up 30 let alone a 30 point margin of victory. I've watched GCA and unless they can figure out a way to get spread the ball around and use someone other than their QB I don't see them winning this week. He is talented kid but he is only one of eleven on the field. Also, from what I've read, Waverly went to the AA semi's last year and they are returning most of their team. This should be a huge challenge for the little school from Wilco. Good luck.
  9. I think this one will be fairly close but I'm going with Hillsboro but only because of overall team speed. That being said if Gallatin can get a few turnovers and capitalize on them the momentum may be too much for the Boro's to overcome. Either way it will likely be a very wet field so the run game and keeping turnovers to a minimum will be key for either to be successful.
  10. Coach Palmer is solid and with CA and Summertown out of the region I expect him to make some noise this season. I don't really know anything about Huntland but the first two games are any indication, Fayetteville should win this one fairly easily.
  11. Their field, the stands, the parking, the school in general is very tired. I don't know how much of the 88mil is designated for athletics but a turf surface is certainly a good start. I think it's fitting that Coach Fitzgerald is the first to get this major upgrade. He's a legend in metro.
  12. Its crazy how the down wilco football looks this season. Ravenwood, Centennial, Indy, and Franklin only have two wins combined. No surprise that Brentwood is up. You knew it was only a matter of time once Crawford returned. Franklin is a big surprise. They had most of the offense returning but the new OC is struggling.
  13. We may only be one game in but I am a longtime wilco football fan and I know what good teams in this league look like. These two teams both look average and they both have above average schedules. They may surprise but I think both have uphill battles.
  14. This was a huge surprise for me. CA although well coached has never been known for their speed. NCS has always, at least in recent years, been blessed with speed. To hear comments on hear about CA being able to cover NCS all night is surprising. Congrats to CA on a big win.
  15. CPA will fight hard but they are outmatched in this one. Size- advantage Ensworth, Speed-advantage Ensworth, Tradition- I'll call it a draw although EHS has way more championships, Coaching staff- advantage Ensworth but Coach Martin is definitely deserving of respect. CPA has a few big name guys but the sum of all the parts for Ensworth puts them up big time. I'd say Ensworth wins this one 9 out of 10 times. Who knows maybe this is the 1 that CPA pulls off the upset. Good luck to both.
  16. I almost never vote against Maryville but I have to go with the home team for this one. Oakland by 7.
  17. Sorry, my mistake, Daniels at Ravenwood but its a similar situation with Kriesky at Centennial. Both Ravenwood and Centennial will have a hard time going .500.
  18. Nothing against Coach Kriesky. I just feel like he was riding the momentum from Coach Hesters strong teams. Hester's Juniors graduated last year and the leaders of this years team had little to do with the success from two and three years ago. Yes, they played last year and they won but the team I watched last week doesn't resemble the team from last year nor does it look like the teams from Hesters era. No they don't have the talent but they don't have the swagger either. I wish them well but will be surprised if they win 5 games this season.
  19. It's crazy how average these two teams are this year. Ravenwood has lost a few athletes to Nolensville but Centennial has no excuse. Amazing what happens to programs when solid coaches leave. Rector and Hester are quality coaches and hard to replace.
  20. I am a longtime Wilco football guy who lives near GCA. When I saw 3 players selected to Murphy Fair 1A All-State Team I decided to check them out. I went to the scrimmage with Perry County earlier this week. Mind you PC is not much competition. Most 6A freshman teams would beat them. That being said, it was ugly. GC likes to sling it around and they could pretty much score at will. The QB hit several targets for scores and the defense totally shut down PC. Again not much competition physically and when all you're running is power right then power left, it doesn't take Monty Kiffin as your coordinator to stop it.
  21. Indy's QB must have been hit in the head going into the locker room at the half. He came out thinking they were the visitors because he's throwing the ball to the guys in white.
  22. Sorry to say it but the Rebels will start the season 0-2. Riverdale at home is to strong for the boys from Franklin.
