Swarm - I didn't - I really should have waited the 24 hours before posting, like the coaches recommend before speaking to them! LOL! Just a Senior parent knowing from here on out could be it! It's tough seeing your kid realize that too, and we in our house know how ugly it was! I think they will at least play with more effort tonight, simply because they feel they have to prove something now. I will take effort, even if it come with loss over lack of effort any day - like the White House game. That one hurt, but they knew they competed. Having said that, when it is over, I get to jump on the wrestling boards after that! Maybe you can hop over there and get things going! And I knew you were a homer, so there was some hope my words would be better understood, but that is the "texting" way now, tone is lost, I am a transplant, but married a homer - so I feel like one!

Effort was bad last week, not sure what was going on, but that’s not our teams normal. But I’m still going to “feel it” for the playoffs because everyone is 0-0 right now and anyone could win on any given night. I not only have a Senior, but have not missed more than 5-6 games home and away since about 2010, regardless of effort or win/loss record. I am going into it not thinking it could be my kids last game…because I would hate 20 years from now the only thing that was said about his Senior year was “lack of efforts against Waverly “, when I feel CERTAIN about half of Fairview didn’t expect this team to win as many games as they did. Not dogging you either…just knowing you are familiar with the program, I feel I can speak freely…but still held back! LOL!

How would they do that? Does TSSAA make yearly moves based on enrollment?

I have heard that too, and our Senior night. Lots of distractions I hope this team can process! I know the coaches will have them ready and focused. But they are teens!

Season ending injuries are hurting us for sure. Not to mention other players just being banged up or playing through injuries. Definitely been a next man up few weeks! I’m excited, nervous, and bittersweet about next weeks match up! A pre-game beverage may be needed! Lol

No, just hoping you were not going there. It is my fault for thinking that people are nice, it is a character flaw, and I can be as sarcastic as the next person! Having said that, it could be the quality of the 2A team that factors in. They are ranked 3rd in their classification. Maybe they consider strength of schedule? Maybe it's a popularity contest? I don't know - because I still can't figure out who White House is ranked lower than Waverly and they beat them.

I do not understand how you are not at the very least ranked above Waverly. But it is cool 3 of our Region 6 teams are ranked.

Refs do not determine any game, but they do set the tone. There is a difference, and that sometimes too gives teams an advantage. This pertains to all sports. Having said that, I’m not saying that’s what happened here, it’s just an observation of my many years watching high school sports.

The goal line we could not see what happened from the visitor side. Tough physical game and glad it was competitive.

Fairview does not even have homefield "advantage" most Fridays playing in the Nest, so that will be nothing new! LOL! I am looking forward to this game, hope Fairview shows up to play, and both teams are injury free.

Add the fact we were within 10 yards of the goal line - I think 3 times - and did not score either. Good assessment of that game from you. And what you said above - I think our defense is pretty stout too!

Wow! You said some of what I was wanting to say, but full disclosure having my last kid going through Fairview right now I don't feel I can be objective! LOL! On the other hand, I wish I could have your confidence - but I am always nervous for those big games, even when I did not have kids playing! One thing I can be objective about this team is their willingness not to give up! Even in the Westview game, they still kept trying. Nothing was working, but they were not walking around with their heads down. I think that helps get them over the humps in these tough ballgames.

I also agree, when it comes to schools making a choice to move up, like in Pearl Cohn's decision. It does appear TSSAA does not factor in travel, when doing the reclassifications. Our school is traveling further than usual, however, I am sure it is hard to factor in EVERY scenario when re-classifying all schools and all sports. And depending on the route taken, Waverly actually travelled less miles playing at Nissan had they actually gone to White House. But travel is part of what us parents sign up for when our kids decide to be student athletes! I have traveled 2 hours for my kid just to be a manager! But would not take any of that time back at all!

Yes and how you comprehend the words on the rule. Example - Ravenwood is 6A - they cannot ask to play 5A based on their enrollment, they have too many kids to be in that classification. Pearl Cohn enrollment is 3A, but they asked for and were granted permission to play 4A. They could have asked for and but not been granted permission to play 2A based on their number of students. They can ask for and be granted permission to play 3A again if their enrollment numbers fall in that category. I could not help but split more hairs on this subject - I have extra to split! LOL! Having said that, in my opinion adding WHH, WH, and Waverly to this region has made it stronger - in my opinion.
