AA-Austin Douglas @ cheatham county. 2nd leading scorer in state at 28.9 and 4th leading rebounder at 12.4. No other player in state is in top 5 for both categories. The requirements to host district or regionals is 1000 seats in A, 1250 in AA, and 1500 seats in AAA. For a one game sectional with only 2 fan bases ,teams can host. Not sure if there is a requirement as I've been to some sectionals in very small gyms.

After seeing both Harpeth and sycamore, I can say I am wrong. Harpeth is clearly a better team right now. I thought sycamore would find an interior presence and they haven't. Cheatham just destroyed them on the glass. If cubs hadn't lost the 2 kids, they would probably be undefeated right now. They are too dependent on Douglas. He is the 2nd leading scorer in the entire state and 4th leading rebounder last time I checked. The have had kids step up from game to game but no one consistently. May cost them come tournament time.

The television series "American crime" season 2 is dealing with this same issue.

Cheatham beats Hendersonville 73 to 70. Game was 15 to 18 points until Lipscomb, Mayberry and Douglas fouled out early in the fourth. Commandos have size and rebound well. Should be dominate with size they have. They looked out of shape, and outside of #11 didn't have anyone that could dribble the ball to the basket with their left hand. This would be the year to get CPA. Not as talented as in the past. I think they will get taken out in region play this year. Spring hill is struggling as well. Haven't seen cascade yet but this could be a good year for them matchup wise as 11aa teams are beatable as well in region play.

At first of the year I didn't like cubs chances. Feel better now having watched more of the district play. Douglas dropping 30 and 13 so far and will be best player on floor probably every game he plays this season. Harpeth is solid and has depth but I disagree about him being best coach in district. I thought he lost Cheatham game by subbing to much. Copeland and newton should have never left the floor in that game in my opinion. Copeland was ungaurdable that night. Sycamore has talent as does White House. Haven't seen the Motown boys yet, missed that game. Good luck and let's play some ball

Harpeth, cheatham, sycamore, creekwood, fairview, mont central, should stay together all the time in my opinion. Maybe stewart or greenbriar. These schools enrollment will never be far apart and it would run in cycles as to who is better in sports. It's getting a little out of hand with all the district swapping. Just my thoughts

Mid tn has maplewood, east Nash, and cascade doing solid. Creekwood starting slow but has talent to return to glass house. Cheatham county is 9 and 3 with Douglas averaging 30 and 13. Don't know if any can beat south side though

Cubs beat franklin on 5/23/2015 in double ot. Another huge night for Douglas, follows up 42 at creekwood with 36 against the rebels. Play Dickson 5/24/2015 in Franklin classic tournament.

Norl can play for sure. His passing off the dribble is impressive. He's also in great physical shape and will be to strong for a lot of high school ballers. Looking forward to a good year and will def have to catch CHS vs kenwood this year

Cheatham wins at creekwood. Cubs may be better than anticipated with the loss of 2 senior starters. Creekwood had no answer for Douglas in the post or off the dribble. Big game from jr Nate Saunders as well. Thought he was difference as it gave them a another option on offense. Plunkett from creekwood can stroke it but stayed in foul trouble. Great game and atmosphere. Cubs student section really showed up and made some noise.

Agreed. One of those officials,and I think you know which one, shouldnt have a whistle, sometimes it's a no-call and you let them play. Atmosphere was great as well. I thought the loss of the 2 seniors for the season would hurt them, but so far kids have stepped up. Saunders and Lipscomb played great last night as well. Douglas played out of his mind and was by far the best player on the floor. Good luck to both as they could meet again with more at stake

I don't think cheatham wins the district this year. I like 1. White House, 2.sycamore, 3.cheatham, 4. Harpeth,5.heritage. But hey that's why we play the games. Big game Friday Cheatham at Creekwood

Douglas plays in the post for cheatham out of necessity. He is probably the best ball handler they have. He can step out and shoot the 3 as well .He will be playing gaurd in college next year. and he may end up being valedictorian as well. Can't find a better kid

Point being this district is very much up for grabs this season. Had cheatham not lost the 2 I would say cubs easily. They will have a lot harder time going for the 4 peat

Sycamore will be better than people think. Brown, bailey and James will be tough on the wings. If they get some interior rebounding and defense they will be solid. Cheatham only returns 2 starters in Douglas and Goode. Gaines(the big boy) and Caleb Johnson ,both were all district 1st team last year, are gone for the season. Disciplinary issues. Harpeth will be down but TC newton is still around and plays hard. Harpeth a coach has yet to beat cheatham in 2 or 3 years and I don't see that changing this season.
