Halfway point in district.. 1- Upperman 7-0: Beat Macon by 7 in first matchup but took 30+ by Levi on 30+ FG attempts to get it done. Don't think they are as good as last season, their schedule has been weak but they are still big dogs until someone proves otherwise. 2- Macon Co 7-1: Only loss is to Upperman, other than struggling with Dekalb for a half they have handled everyone else pretty handily. Carter is tough matchup for anyone, deepest team in the district. 3- York Institute 4-3: Control their own destiny for 3rd. Matchup with the top 2 teams athletically better than anyone else in the district, but have to get over the mental hurdle and believe they can play with them. When supporting cast plays solid they are pretty decent. Smith is a handful, Conatser has shot it well and 5 freshmen play considerable minutes. But with youth they are capable of being beaten by anyone on a given night. Need consistency. 4- DeKalb Co 4-4: Young team that has played above expectation in my opinion. Struggle with putting points up on most nights. Could end up anywhere between 4th and 6th. 5- Livingston Academy 3-4: They have a hard time scoring and are lacking consistent shooting. They play hard and will probably remain 5th but may drop a spot before regular season ends. 6- Cannon Co 2-5: Biggest surprise in the district, I think they are the 3rd most talented team in the district but for whatever reason have under performed. Score the ball decently, but seem to struggle on the defensive end. Still think they capable of getting to 4th. 7- Smith Co 1-6: Losing West was devastating, she is the best player they have on both ends of the floor. Moore & Shoulders will both have to play extremely well the rest of the way to get the job done. But they play extremely hard and always have a solid game plan. 8- Watertown 1-6: Tough first season moving up to AA. Seem to compete hard but are limited athletically and are another team that really seems to struggle to score. Matchup with Smith this week will determine 7th and 8th in my opinion. How does everyone else see it playing out?

LA plays at Clarkrange tonight. Play York at home tomorrow night. Smith played pretty well at York Tuesday, probably shot it as well as they can but lost by 9. Defensively they they need a lot of work. Didn't look very interested on that end of the floor.

If that's how it breaks out in the end bracket wise, Don't be surprised if the Dragons don't come out of their bracket.

1 and 2 (Macon and Upperman) is a toss up. They are and should be the class of the district, hands down. 3 - 5 (Cannon, YAI and LA) is very close, depends on how they improve during the season. 6 - 8 (DeKalb, Smith and H2OTown) is interchangeable as well.

Season is almost here.... Predictions? Top Players, etc... 1. Macon Co 2. Upperman 3. Cannon Co 4. York Ins. 5. Livingston Aca. 6. DeKalb Co 7. Smith Co 8. Watertown (will admit I know nothing about them, Just going by word of mouth, may be much better than what I have heard?)

8AA is hardly loaded this season. Weakest its been in 20 years.

Without question SG was the best team in this tournament. No question, but to say they toyed with PC it's not reality. SG beat PC and deserved to but they didn't toy with them. Championship game was the 1st game.

Other than the quarterfinal against Pickett I would agree. But they didn't "toy" with them. They survived and advanced.

SG hits a couple easy back door passes they turned down to run clock and/or hits the front end of a couple one and ones and it's really double figures. Go back to class.

M Drug of choice..... Reality. Clarkrange is horrible defensively when they have to chase. Not hard to figure out.

And real soon we will see if I was right. Down 11 into the 4th.

Can't believe Levy threw herself on the floor and didn't get a call. Don't think she could either.

If I am PC I am attacking with whoever Levy is guarding. Upperman "hides" her on the weakest perimeter threat. As good as Levy is offensively she is a mediocre defender at best.

PC guard quickness has been a problem matchup wise for Upperman. Levy is the only player on Upperman that PC has any problems with athletically. Levy may be able to get PC bigs in foul trouble but PC guards may get Levy in foul trouble. If they do PC wins fairly easily.

If Clarkrange has any shot to win they better be ahead going into the 4th. If they are behind and have to play man to pressure SG at any point it may well be the Middleton game from a couple years ago. Clarkrange needs to limit turnovers to have a legitimate shot , SG needs to push pace every possession and make it a full court game. Just my opinion.

Dog pile must've lasted forever?!? Doesn't matter how long it took, the team should've waited and shook their hands. McWilliams is arrogant, always has been. But never had the results to be. That team should've walked through the district and won the region without much problem. His teams always underachieve. Karma is a great thing. Maybe they can reload with a few more transfers next year.

I didn't see that but CM coach was not happy at the end with the refs. Guess I know why. When they hit the 3 I looked and think there was 2.4 left. We just held the ball out of bounds until clock ran off. Had a legitimate complaint, if he was trying to call one. Especially at home.

Aaron is not coaching PC. Quit 2 weeks before season started. Joseph Ammonette is coaching this year.
