  1. the thing that is commonly overlooked is that memhis city schools is the only school system that allows players to transfer from school to school and play immediately. What it allows is for coaches to build teams and "reload" year after year. Anywhere else in tn, transfers have to sit out a yr. This is a deterrent because players dont want to loose eligibilty. What is then created is the situation like Mitchell, who have 1A enrollment, the opportunity to really pull from a pool of athletes in a city whose population is upwards of 650,000. To me it creates and unfair advantage. Dont get me wrong its not a knock on mitchell or any others in the area. They are playing within the rules. The rule either needs to change or everybody should be allowed the same opportunities afforded to them
  2. Lead hadnt lost to a 1a school all year until Jackson got hurt. Truth of the matter is Lead was without 2 starters that game. You take the best player off any team and another starter and it makes it difficult for anybody to win. Especially at the 1A level. With Jackson, Lead wins that game by at least 10-15. Not to take anything away from what MTCS has done, you cant fault them for the injury. They did what they had to and as a result are playing in the glass house. However ive watched a lot of basketball and Jackon has been the difference maker for that team for 4yrs. Its hard to all of s sudden have to play with that big of a piece missing and still be effective
  3. Jackson broke his ankle in the district tournament. Otherwise they cruise to state
  4. Jackson is a 6'4 sg, shot approx 38% from 3 over career. 2000 pts. athletic, rebounder and defender. A broken ankle cut his career short this season, which is a shame. The rest of the state isnt going to get an opportunity to see him. Took LEAD Academy to state as a sophomore and was on pace to do it again this year. He has to put on some weight to be effective at the next level but is by far one of the my under-rated players in the state
  5. Jackson broke his ankle in district tournament.
  6. i couldnt agree more. They havent lost since 12/9/15. Their 5 losses were to BA,Ensworth, MBA, Cookeville, and Ravenwood. All solid losses. Demarco jackson is as legit as it gets in 1A. Was snubbed in the mr basketball voting
  7. Hopkins is a great player and all but I find it hard to vote for a player simply based off career stats and on a team that's one game over .500

  9. Demarco Jackson http://www.hudl.com/athlete/4782842/highlights/327921641/v3
  10. Ive read everyone's post and the name that has seam to be omitted is DaMarco Jackson (LEAD ACADEMY). According to unapproved website is playing on the 8th ranked team in class 1A. Has held his own against high level opponents such as Brentwood Academy and Ensworth. Recent games of 46 and 40. Some of the other names mentioned in class A have the benefit of playing in systems that allow them the green light to take 20 plus shots a night. Jackson has achieved similar results in some case taking 10-15 shots less a night than some of the other nominees. Not to mentioned playing out of position as the 4 on a team that definitely lacks size http://www.hudl.com/athlete/4782842/highlights/327921641/v3
  11. LEAD is the unquestioned favorite. They have outscored their opponents in district play 463-254. AVG margin of victory 35pts. With a 6 and 0 record i dont see anyone in district 10 beating them
  12. well the 2014-15 season has ended, time to start looking forward to 2015-16. A name to keep in mind going in to next season Demarco Jackson LEAD ACADEMY. 21/11/5 as a junior this year. Will have a breakout yr next year. Others to watch Tyger Campbell CPA. Zy Moore Meigs county and Parker Stewart Union City, Darius Garland Brentwood Academy. Drop some more names to look out for next yr
  13. tssaa has a CPA bias. yeah i said it. they turn a blind eye to his "recruiting" tactics. lets call a spade a spade, its about dollars and cents. West tn has always been a hot bed for basketball talent, but until the tssaa starts getting some "dirty handshakes" from the folks in west tn you can count on the bias to continue
  14. martin, blackwell, and lawson should be easiest vote in years
  15. jackson is more than just scoring. he is averaging a double double. 3yr starter as a junior. has scored 1000 pts already. and youre right clark had 34 in the game but it was still a loss. clark is a great volume shooter. jackson gets his points without taking near as many shots as clark. As far as being hard to score from the point guard spot, its alot easier for clark in hchs system because he has the ball in his hand so much. ive seen time where he has dribbled up the court and shot 2-3ft behind the line without passing to anyone. Some make some missed, but to have the green light at all time does make it alot easier to put up those points. Im not discrediting Clark's game in no way, but if im picking teams, my first draft pick would be Jackson, and im sure majority of the educated basketball fans would agree
  16. Clark is a good player but not on the caliber of jackson. Yes hchs won the district but head to head Jackson is 2 and 0 against Clark with both wins by double figures
  17. 10a boys standings 1 houston co 2 lead academy 3 Nashville Christian 4 McEwen 5 jo byrns 6 Clarksville academy 7 east robertson District tourney at Houston county high school Tuesday Feb 10th 4:00 LEAD Academy vs east robertson 5:30 Nashville Christian vs Clarksville academy 7:00 McEwen vs jo byrns
  18. i couldnt agree more 22.3 pts 10.7 reb 3.75 assists per game in district play. 18 or more pts in 11/12 district games 9 or more reb is 9 of 12 games including 21 reb agains East Robertson
  19. Who will get district 10a player of the year and first team all district?
  20. Middle tennessee class 1a Demarco Jackson LEAD Academy c/o 2016. avg 21 pts 10 reb per games. Had 27pts 21 rebs in game against East Robertson monday night. 3yr starter. mvp as sophomore on team that went to state last yr.

    9-A

Records are overrated. Some teams schedule light to build resume. Where others schedule stronger schedules to prep teams to tournament play.
  22. LEAD Academy as well. Big game against Fayetteville on 1/22/15. Rematch of last years game that LEAD won on a buzzer beater.
  23. middle tn- Jalen Duke (MLK), Chase Clark (Houston Co), Austin Fisher (Clarksville Academy), Nappier twins (Lighthouse), Tyger Campbell (CPA), Calleb Hollander (nashville central), Demarco Jackson (LEAD Academy) and Demarco Simpson (whites creek) have all been names you may not have heard of that have been dominant early
