Not sure how much i like having a game on a Thursday night. Its not bad for WV because they don't have the long drive home. SGC on the other hand will get home late late for it to be a school night. I think WV is a lot better than the record shows. They seem to get better every single week. SGC will have to play well if they want to get a W in this one.

SGC is in tough spot. They play in very very tough division. Last year SGC played DBurg to a last second field goal and played Milan tough. I'm not going to say that SGC is the going to beat Dburg Liberty or Milan but we have a some kids that want it and are going to play a full game. A playoff birth and hopefully a victory will be a huge plus for our program. Lets not forget we are only 7 years old.......

Whats the best place to get a bite to eat pretty quickly before the game??? I dont know anything about selmer. Thanks in advance.

Well said my friend. Im looking forward to this game as well. SGC will be tested Friday night. I expect the bobcats to come out and air the ball out. SGC has not played a pass happy team yet this season so its going to be interesting to see how the LB's and the DB's defend the pass. Never been to the bobcat stadium. How is it? SGC - 27 MC - 17

SGC - 36 TCA - 17 TCA has a great coaching staff and they will keep them in the game. Its just really hard to replace the best player in program history and not kinda have a hangover from it... Good luck to the Lions but the hornets have your number this year. Also I tip my hat to the lions for scheduling the way they do. The lions will make the playoffs this year and I think that is a win for them.

Milan kinda got a raw deal with Liberty having a hick up vs NSHS. Liberty is a much better team than what people have seen to this point. Milan also looks very good. Ill take Milan coaches over Liberty. Both Teams are loaded with talent. Liberty 20 Milan 17

I watched a little bit of Knights on tape and they look like a JV team. With that being said I think the knights will score some points. SGC wins 45-20 This is a cool experience for the boys. There is going to be a ton of people, and press there. Also good exposure for SGC

This was a great game. Barn Burner!!!! Both teams had a shot to win it late. This is the best obion county team I can remember. Yall will defiantly surprise some people in your division. Good luck to Obion on the rest of the season.

This is why i love football. Everyone starts fresh and has a record of 0-0. I am little surprised that so many people have picked Milan above tech. Tech is loaded with talent. Going to be a great game to watch. 1. tech 2. milan 3. sgc 4. dburg

I am from Jackson born and raised graduated from NSHS. JCM has a ton of history. With that being said I understand that the board had to make a business decision. Is it going to hurt some? Yes. Is it going to benefit more in the long run? Yes. JCM's days were numbered when Liberty was built. In my opinion all of the money that was put into liberty 10 years ago should have been put into the 3 current high schools that Madison county had and or the destruction / rebuild of JCM. JCM is centrally located in the heart of the city and would have served as a better option in the long run for all of Madison county. JCM logistically is closer to the population of the city and is kinda tied in with Lane college. With that being said we can't have neighborhood schools because we as people cant get over the issue of race. Face the facts It is what it is. All of this is due to race issues and making everything "fair". I will reserve my opinion on that fact. With the above being said JMCSS should have never gotten away from neighborhood schools. Their hand was kinda forced in the issue due to race problems and testing. Jackson is very multicultural and that's one of the greatest things Jackson has going for itself. We have problems with crime and poverty like every other place in the world but we kinda put the cart before the horse when liberty was built. I don't feel sorry for most people. I believe you make your bed you can sleep in it. But the players and students at JCM were set up to lose from word go. A previous poster mentioned now matter how hard a player worked or practiced he knew they were going to loose. Is that fair? I don't know. You can blame it on who ever you want to blame it on I don't want to point fingers. I can tell you that I cover SGC Football and the week that we played JCM the administration / staff couldn't furnish me with even a roster with the kids names and numbers. I started calling on Tuesday of game week and called every day leaving messages and even talking to a coach just wanting a roster and still never got one..... I am really saddened to see JCM go away but I hope the community of Jackson and Madison county will embrace the changes and the former students of JCM have a shot of hope. Hopefully in the future Jackson and other cities may use this as an example of what not to do. I understand how we got here but what I don't understand is how using race and making everything racially balanced has now closed down a very historic school and we have a school that's miles away from the base of the population which makes a busing nightmare. Most of the kids that should be zoned to go to JCM would be within walking distance or just a few miles away from JCM. Now all the kids that go to Liberty will have to bused and its not a neighborhood school. Its neighbors are a factory to the left and a wooded/corn field to the right..... just doesn't make since to me. Liberty is a great school with a bunch of good teachers and coaches and they will make their mark on the history books.

Its been said before but Liberty's D is nasty. Liberty has speed all over that D and they will hit and hit hard. I saw several plays tonight where Milan opened a hole for the runner and the speed of the D just would not give up a big play. The only big play that Milan had Ballard ran up the middle for about 35 and scored. That was in the 2nd quarter. After that play Liberty only gave up I think 2 first downs..... ( 1 was due to a penalty ) Congrats to Milan on a good season. Liberty bring the Gold home to west Tennessee!!!!

I have seen a lot of high school football. This liberty team is the best defense i have seen in a long time. Milan will have its hands full scoring on this D. Good luck to the dawgs i just dont see it.

Good luck to milan....... I would like for another Gibson county team to make it to the quarter finals.... Yikes! going to be a really really tuff task to beat liberty... If i were an odds maker i would say Liberty -16.5

I was at the game. I have heard so much about UC I had to go watch and see what all of the buzz was about. I sat on the UC side and met some really nice folks thanks for the hospitality. Facilities are top notch and UC has nothing to be ashamed of. UC really did get some bad calls from the refs but if didnt play great and when you dont play well and make dumb pre snap penalties it really shows up when you play a good team. Congrats to Trenton bring another state title back to west Tennessee!
