  1. As I've said many times, talent has never been a problem at Blackman
  2. When they're on, they can be a handful, ask Oakland and Ravenwood
  3. Only his 2nd job as a HC so no. That said, hard to see him going anywhere other than private, which is the kind of money he's making at Cleveland
  4. This is only Year 2 for Tygard. It was never going to be easy getting Cleveland to the same level that the elite teams are, but Cleveland plays in an offense that's always going to draw its share of talent and they have a good DC. Tygard needs a full 4-5 seasons before anyone can make a fair assessment of what is possible. Clearly it's important to Cleveland to have a great program bc of the resources committed to the program. Despite his offense not being my cup of tea, Tygard is a good coach whose great for the community
  5. 2 winning seasons in the last 40 years. That's not a coaching problem. I know the TSSAA has already started using a success factor for D-II , but I think the more pressing issue should be coming up with something that allows schools like Howard and Warren Co. to drop down instead of just getting pounded year after year
  6. Not sure what's fair about a D-II team having to only win 2 games to get to Chattanooga then have 13 days to rest players bewteen games
  7. Yeah no system is going to be perfectly, but it removes the monotony of the same teams playing each in the 2nd round and Quarters. Also provides a better chance of title game not being lopsided
  8. That's great but not every team has the talent to win state, hard work only gets you so far so you have to cherish the years your fortunate enough to make a run like that
  9. You do you. I'll let you move on to the next conspiracy theory
  10. The idea that I have is that only the top 2 teams from each region are automatic qualifiers then use power rating system ( TSSAA already has a relationship with MP) for seeding and just have 1 big bracket seeded 1-32. Maybe an East and West bracket if your worried about travel
  11. Im fully aware of the details. This was debated to death on the 5A/6A board, you want to beat a dead horse go for it but the TSSAA has no reason to cozy up to Oakland or Blackman
  12. Opinions like this are why players and coaches get burned out on football. If your barometer on success is did you win a state title then your going to be dissapointed alot unless you follow Alcoa. Every team should have the goal of winning a state championship, but that shouldn't be the only goal either. Whether your a fan, coach, player, etc. the journey of getting there should be just as much fun as the title game itself
  13. FC-Shelbyville was a full on brawl. Oakland had 1 player lose his cool and was punished for it before the TSSAA even made a ruling
  14. CC has never had much talent, Tullahoma gets most of that but they will grind and fight all game long. Blackman's mistake was not being able to protect the football. CC had all 19 points off turnovers I believe. If MJ can race out to a quick lead they probably win handily. Allow CC to get a early 2 score lead and they'll will melt the minutes off that clock
  15. Did I say they are? I'm not saying anything controversial by pointing out they were major underdogs in their first two title games and probably were last season as well
  16. Don't think anybody will dispute they have a pretty good chance to win this game, just think Green Hill's offense is a little better. IMO, the defense of both teams cancel each other out
  17. If you make it to the state championship game, your season is no way a failure. In all 3 of those matchups, they were the underdog
  18. When they do though, they can be a handful. Gentry is one of the good ones
