  1. Not Shad's first rodeo. They did come out a little sloppy against Brentwood, but got in 2nd half got back to the running the football. As long as they stick to that, have a hard time seeing them losing
  2. Doesnt mean it counts any less. Nobody will remember that he didnt play in this game 5 years from now. What they will remember is the result of the game......
  3. Blackman could play their "C" game and still win by a good margin. No way no how they lose this game
  4. 6 Wins probably gets you in with the current playoff system
  5. I think Oakland and Blackman are pretty close. I think score reflects that tommorrow. Maybe Riverdale gets in a late touchdown
  6. Really good defense > Really good offense any day of the week. One of the big reason why Siegel was so good last year was their defense was much better than anyone gave them credit for.
  7. Not a Siegel fan, write about all the teams in 7-AAA.
  8. I think if your a Riverdale fan, something you can take heart is that they still can score the ball; had no problem doing that last night. But they had plenty of problems holding onto the ball. BC only had 242 yards of total offense to Riverdale's 376. Unfortunately, I dont see a game on Riverdale's schedule that is a slam dunk that they win, but I think the pieces are there for Riverdale to win 4-5 games, and maybe get lucky and make the playoffs
  9. I dont think the blame for the defense should be entirely at Wells' feet. Its just not emphasized under Aydellot. This is really the first year that Riverdale is suspect in the trenches and it shows. Looking at the schedule, East Hamilton and Blackman look like for sure losses. Only games I see on the schedule that they can win are LaVergne and Stewarts Creek, maybe Cane Ridge. By the time they play Smyrna, the Bulldogs should have a pretty good bit of confidence, as they look to be on their way to playoff caliber season. Just hate for Mariko Odom that his senior season is spent wallowing in mediocrity
  10. Good defenses do not give up 58 points in a game, plain and simple
  11. Its Riverdale. They have a level of expectations around here, one that Aydellot has never been up to the challenge of. Aydellot as a playcaller, you cant dispute is one of the best. His inability to develop talent in the feeder school ranks and his casual attitude towards defense is the reason why Oakland, Blackman, and Siegel are now light years ahead of the Warriors.
  12. Ever since I saw him in the spring, Charlie Davidson has been one of my favorite players in this district. Love how hard he runs. Him and Notgrass make a dangerous 1-2 punch at tailback
  13. They were a tough game until Blackman figured out that they could line up the ball and just mash Brentwood bewteen the tackles, something Oakland will no doubt do from the get go. Brentwood has a scrappy defense and a smart, athletic QB. They'll win their fair share of games and will fair well in their district. But in the trenches is where they are going to get exposed in the regular season and the playoffs
  14. Hate to say that this is a must win for Riverdale, but with them playing Blackman next week, it sure looks that way
  15. Or his last season at Riverdale period, depending on who you believe
  16. When you play a freshmen at qb most of the game, run or pass, chances are it wont end well...........
  17. When you consider that Oakland had a 21-0 lead on Riverdale in 2010 and needed 3 OT's to finally beat them, yes, 27-7 is not nearly enough. Not like Oakland was doing anything to try to boost the score up, even sat their starters down after that first possession. Game could have gotten much worse than it really did Ive always felt Aydellot was a good teacher of the game. But tonight his abilities (or lack thereof) when it comes to developing talent at the feeder schools came to roost. LOD hit it right on the head
  18. Its a little bit of both. Oakland just dominated both sides of the line, plain and simple. Was kind of sad to see Riverdale get beat up like that
  19. Its the first game, TDC. Its a rivalry, feelings are going to get hurt. Oakland pretty much could have named the score yet chose to bench their starters midway thru the 3rd. I think thats pretty classy, IMO
  20. I cant tell you how many times I have gone back and forth on this. I like Siegel in this one, but this is one of those games that if it was played in Week 9 or Week 10, I might have picked Blackman. Siegel 35 Blackman 31
  21. Really wanted LaVergne to give me a reason to believe they could win this game. Unfortunately, they didnt. Smyrna 31 LaVergne 14
  22. I dont see it being quite as bad as most are predicting. Riverdale will put up a good fight, but Oakland's overall talent and speed on defense is just going to be too much. Oakland pulls away late, winning 27-10
  23. Thats the way the district had it planned. Just so happen it was Oakland-Riverdale for the thursday night game. I prefer it not to be on tv, better chance at a good gate
  24. I like the way Riverdale played on defense at the jamboree. Dont think it will get that out of control..............
