  1. Yeah, I dont think you will ever see that happen under Shadowens............ Then again, a few years ago, probably thought the same thing about McDaniel
  2. I understand that, but it was the ones that were sloppy. Jennings looked flat our sharp in the spring. Was hoping to see more of Davidson as well. Looking forward to seeing Siegel tommorrow
  3. Obviously going to struggle in first scrimmage, but expected more after the way they roughed up a good wilson central team in the spring
  4. Centennial has been slowly trending upward with Coach Rector. Thats a big reason why I have them there and your right, of all my top 10, theyre probably the one team that I went out on a limb with. Speaking of Blackman, looked pretty sloppy against Franklin on friday............
  5. To be fair, Smyrna will win at least 6 games this season. Their 1-9 record is misleading because they have played some brutal schedules as of late. Smyrna should be 4th this year, and will have a fighting chance against the big 3 (Oakland, Blackman, and Siegel)
  6. When you have a talent like Hurd, its going to take one heckuva team to knock out Beech.
  7. Just the pre-season guys. Yes Smyrna handled them easily, but going to give them the benefit of the doubt until they pick up a few losses in the regular season. If Centennial does struggle, rest assured they will be bumped out of the sweet 16 in quick order. As for Riverdale, They are one of the teams im watching for, was just naming some teams off the top of my head. Think Smyrna is going to have a good year and was very tempted to include them into the sweet 16. Appreciate the feedback though, always nice to have
  8. Oakland was pretty dominant on both sides. Kept in Hurd in check for most of the night, except for one run. Beech is still my favorite to win in it all in 5A, but Oakland's defense is going to be a load to handle for everybody, not just Beech
  9. There is actually a video on it................
  10. He did. Was a nice gesture by McDaniel and the staff. At the end of the day, we tend to forget these players are indeed, just kids.
  11. Good to see Stevens put a quick stop to it. Football is a great game , not only because it brings a community together, but because of the life lessons it teaches.
  12. Apologies, the stats were posted on the 7-AAA thread. Point is that StarRaider showed attitude because your friend refuses to listen to facts..............
  13. Never known a Tullahoma team under John Olive to not be competitive. Im sure they will be fine
  14. Ill speak up for StarRaider. He tried to be reasonable, posting stats from a prior meeting and pointed out how much 5-AAA struggles against 7-AAA ( No shame in that, many districts/teams have). The only argument he has is throwing Maryville out there ( and who hasnt Maryville beaten on a consistent basis?) His loyalty and excitement towards his program is commendable and admirable, but there comes a time when you have to face facts: Ooltewah, and their district for that matter, struggles when they venture outside of their immediate area
  15. He looked pretty good out there at Safety yesterday. When you got a kid as talented as Jalen Hurd, chances are he can be a All-State caliber player at any position that he wants to play
  16. Good to hear that Stewarts Creek did well against a solid Page team. Hope they can keep improving. When you bring in a new offense, there is always going to be a transition period. I would like to see how LaVergne will do against 6A competition. The bad snaps and things of that nature is something that will be corrected over time. That consistent taunting is a discipline problem. Stevens has always seemed to be a hands-off kind of coach, but this is an issue that requires him to have a heavy hand in. Any more scrimmages for LaVergne?
  17. Was told Riverdale won, 6-2. Hearing that Odom played as well and got a few touchdowns. As for Oakland, thats what happens when your the assumed Favorite in the district. Siegel got similar treatment last year, Riverdale in 2012, and Smyrna in 2011. Just the way it goes I suppose
  18. Siegel had a very good team. No shame in losing to Maryville. They came so close, despite their QB playing with a torn ACL. Since you saw Siegel, you would know that a good chunk of their offense relies on the threat of him running the ball. Your loyalty to your team is commendable, but try using some common sense too. When you get that far in the playoffs, no one "chokes". It takes execution with a little bit of luck to win a title, and thats always been true at this level.
  19. I think as long as Wyant is at Siegel, the NASCAR offense is there to stay
  20. Calm your horses slick. He was just making a comparsion to illustrate how dominant we have been against 5-AAA. No harm meant. Nobody said anything about 7-AAA being hands down better than everybody else
  21. Some games that will be the case. Oakland has so many weapons on offense that its going to be hard to get everybody the ball over the course of the game
  22. As for Emmanuel, he is going to take the majority of his snaps at WR when he is on offense ( provided Rhett Stacey can stay healthy)
  23. Ive tried and triend to find out LaVergne info, but Coach Stevens isnt exactly media friendly. But I do believe LaVergne could suprise as well. Look forward to hearing you report of the game
  24. It was a good scrimmage. Beech held their own in spots, but Oakland just has too much depth for them this year. Held Hurd in check for the most part, had one good run, but that was about it. Beech is still my choice to win it in 5A this year
  25. Oakland also turned the ball over several times deep in Beech territory, it was a good scrimmage for both teams, to which the score means nothing once Week 0 starts. While I do think 9-AAA is a heck of a league, 7-AAA is probably a little better from top to bottom.
