  1. Yeah wouldnt want to play a 7-AAA team that could beat you lol. Good luck to Gallatin this season
  2. Thank you for the head's up on Smyrna's roster. I already have Siegel's on the website. Just need to add Smyrna, LaVergne and Stewarts Creek
  3. BTW, Congrats to Siegel for winning the Ravenwood 7 on 7 tournament today
  4. Not like Oakland is that complicated on offense...........
  5. I think it's Whitehaven or Maryville's to lose until someone can prove otherwise. They are both going to be a load to bring down for whoever makes the semifinals.
  6. Oakland is never going to be a team that throws it a whole lot, its just not who they are. Oakland has 3 college linemen and several tb's and fb's that will play college ball. Running the ball is going to be the main course. Got some good wr's In Emmanuel Smith, Kyle Oliver, Josh Smith, and a few others, but I would be suprised if there is a game this season that Oakland throws it more than 15-17 times in a game. When Oakland is rolling, the pass attempts are around 8-10 a game.
  7. Oakland will have to travel to Memphis twice and Chattanooga over the next 2 Years. Siegel will have to go to Ooltewah and Science Hill. Riverdale just got done playing a home and home with Brighton and Blackman will be playing Bowling Green (KY.). As a district, were already traveling over the place. I would rather do it in a place that is steeped in tradition like Oak Ridge, D-B or Maryville
  8. I agree comepletely. Harding is my pick to be 7AAA MVP. Without him last year, Siegel's offense wouldnt have been nearly as potent
  9. Appreciate, your kind words sir. Ill also comment on 6A as a whole from time to time. More than welcome to follow me on twitter as well, @7AAAFBNetwork
  10. Also, I dont confess to know everything about this district. I welcome debate with other fans who love this district as much as I do. I wouldnt do what I do if I was the only fan out there that was fanatical about 7-AAA football
  11. First off, I try to be positive when writing pre-season material. I did pick LaVergne to finish 6th in this district, which technically would be an improvement. #1- Obviously you know about C.J. Fore and J.J. Horner. They also have a incoming freshmen tailback, Malek Gray that will give LaVergne's ground game some teeth. He has the size and ability to be a gamechanger at tailback. LaVergne also has a schedule that sets up pretty well for them if they can beat Smyrna in Week 0. #2- I dont think its crazy to expect LaVergne to win more than 3 games, something they havent done since 2007. If Stanton Stevens cant do that, then they need to bring in a young coach who can build up some excitement. Do I think LaVergne will make the playoffs? No, but with Smyrna and Riverdale vulnerable, its certainly there for the taking. As for Stewarts Creek, I dont question Martin's skill as a coach, merely how committed he will truly be in a district that can be downright brutal. At Goodpasture, he could get his pick of the litter. At Stewarts Creek, he is going to be a playing rough schedule each every week
  12. Great video. Best of luck to Oak Ridge. Tennessee HS Football is that much better when they are at the top of their game
  13. Oakland, Siegel, and Blackman all have a pretty impressive backfield. Scoring points sure wont be a problem
  14. 6A as class has only been existence for 4 years, and 7-AAA has sent a team to the semifinals at least every year. Did I say anything about it being a better district than everyone? No. D-B hasnt been irrelevant for quite some time on a state level. When they were really good, they challenged themselves with a tough schedule. Most of the teams I just mentioned do the same. They arent going to get better by whipping on teams they should beat.
  15. This saturday. Dont have a schedule yet, but ill work on trying to get one..............
  16. Saw Wilson Central in the spring against Blackman, and while they struggled, you could tell that they have enough talent to piece together another good season. Should be another good year in 9-AAA, who is quickly becoming 7-AAA's equal year in and year out..............
  17. Wasnt aware that DB couldnt call to see if any teams from 7-AAA are interested. D-B is the program that has to get better to compete for State Titles, Not teams like Oakland, Blackman, Siegel, Riverdale, or Smyrna.
  18. Hard to believe not much talk about the district this year. 7 on 7 tournament at Ravenwood, in which 3 teams from 7-AAA ( Oakland, Siegel, and Blackman) will be participating. Anybody plan on going?
  19. Like those previously said, 7 on 7 is nice to get some football in the air, but to think that winning one of these competitions is indicative of how a teams season is going to go is foolhardy. Oakland won the 7 on 7 at MTSU 2 years ago and went 6-5. Remember the days when these type of events were only attended by but a few teams............
  20. My idea: Keep the classes as they are. Only district champions get in automatically, the rest are determined by a mix of a human committee and power rankings ( so undeserving teams cant slip into the playoffs by playing a bad schedule) . For each class, get together a 10 person committee, compromising of 3 people from each grand division of the state with with a president/chairman type to oversee the selection process. Wouldnt expect them to do it without pay, so let them have a small percentage of the playoff gates for their contribution Then once you have 24 or 32 teams, break the bracket up into 2 halves and seed them from 1-16 while trying to keep the traveling within reason, but not just for the sake of travel. With the playoffs we pretty much see the same matchups every year and it would keep teams from having a easy draw. May not be feasible to pull this off but this would be my ideal way to select the playoff teams
  21. I know of a bunch of teams in 7-AAA that would jump at the chance to play DB and im sure the privates in middle tn wouldnt have a problem with that as well........
  22. What is Whitehaven looking at as far as returning starters go?
  23. Not trying to stir up anything, but have always wondered why D-B quit playing teams from across the state. Always felt the Indians were at their best when they had a schedule that challenged them...........
  24. Obviously im biased, but I think Oakland-Riverdale would have been a slam dunk for TNL game of the week. Riverdale is a little down this year, but its still going to be a great B O B
