  1. I would expect Regions 1 and 2 to go as follows: Region 1 Dobyns Bennett Science Hill Morristown West Jefferson Co Bearden Hardin Valley Farragut Region 2 Maryville William Blount Heritage Bradley Central Ceveland McMinn Co Ooltewah I don't know enough about the middle and west Tennessee team geography to set regions. The most interesting regions will be in west Tennessee, looks like there are 9 teams around Memphis. Somebody posted earlier about a revamped playoff plan as well, where we could prevent 1-9 teams from being in the playoffs. If we automatically qualify half of the teams in any given district, then it wouldn't matter how many were in a region. A four team region would get 2, a five team would get 3, a six team would get 3, and a seven team would get 4. If you adjusted the regions correctly, then you would get the 32 teams like now. I also would like to see a seeding 1-8 super regions (East, Middle North, Middle South, and West). East could match up with Middle North and MIddle South with West. You could even flip the middle super regions in alternating years. I just like the idea of getting different match-ups rather than playing the same teams first and second and third rounds every year. Just my 2 cents.
  2. I like it, makes sense. It could work if looked at correctly.
  3. Maryville and Aloca to D-II is the smartest thing I've heard on this board, since they are semi-private (accepting tuition for out of district kids) recruiters. Imho, any district that takes tutition for out of district kids or has open enrollment is technically a "semi-private" school and should play in the D-II league with the other tuition taking schools. Just my 2 cents. It just seems silly to let people move down so that someone else could move up. It was a 9-0 vote, sounds like the majority were in favor of it. I would prefer to be in a division with Maryville and the likes....sun don't shine on the same dog's butt everyday, ya know? If you want to be the best, you got to beat the best and to beat the best, you have to be the best.
  4. Word on the street is Terrance Hall has also "transferred" to West. Truly interesting.
  5. Happens all over the place, take Oak Ridge for example, they beat Karns H2H (and have a better record), yet have to go to quad 2 as a #7 and Karns is a #5 in Quad 1. Oak Ridge beat Hardin Valley and OR is a #7 in Quad 2 and HV is a #6 in Quad 1. Hardin Valley beat Karns H2H with same overall record, yet Karns is a #5 and HV is a #6. It's all about GEOGRAPHY, in the Oak Ridge situation anyway.
  6. So, who did they replace the AD/Coach with? So the players were involved in a TSSAA game when the fight occured, then allegedly played in the next games that happened to be in Florida? I'm unclear on the events, but I wonder if it is written in TSSAA rules that they sit out next 2 TSSAA contests or next 2 contests period?
  7. Very interesting. You can count on that from the folks in Maynardville.
  8. Region 2 - William Blount 1st, Maryville 2nd
  9. West Greene beat Union Co 42-37 and Elizabethton beat CAK 38-31 in Round 1 West Greene beat Elizabethton 42-24 and Union Co beat CAK 46-28 in Round 2 West Greene - Region 1 Champion will host Greenback Sat? Elizabethton - Region 1 Runner up will travel to Seymour Fri?
  10. I am new in my forray into youth wrestling and I was wondering what the difference between AAU and USA wrestling were. Is there an advantage for one or the other or to join both? Please help me make heads or tails of it all.
  11. Austin-East was ranked #1 in the state the first year Coach McBrayer was at Union Co. Catholic was still playing in Division II, so it just shows what you know about local high school football. He is a good coach and he was great with the kids, they respected him and played hard for him. He will be successful wherever he lands, especially with an administration that supports him. Those that don't know what the situation are should not speak. I wish the next head coach at Union Co the best of luck. It is diffucult to win with little or no support from the administration, no matter what "level" you coach at. Good luck Coach McBrayer and God Speed!
  12. Union County High School, 15 miles north of Knoxville is currently in search of assistant high school coaches and youth program coaches. 17. I thought this was a post about Karns hiring a new head coach and potential candidates, not a statistical anlysis of ORHS offense. So, back to the topic, are there any updates on the coaching search?
