  1. Mt Pleasant Scrimmaged Hickman County last Friday. I think MTP surprised a lot of fans, including me, with their performance. In a 10 play format they outscored Hickman County 6 Tds to 4 Tds. Mtp opened on defense and stopped HC from scoring although HC has a really good QB in the spread offense and #7 played everywhere.. watch out for those two. MTP then scored quickly and two times in their first drive and according to the MTP Football facebook stats nearly 600 yards of offense. only 3 seniors on the team. The backs replacing Warnsley and Crawford look to be filling those shoes nicely if not better and the line blocked well. Go Tigers!!
  2. I would say he is a wingT guy, I read that he is an O Line coach at Riverdale and long time Trousdale Asst. Both wingT teams. Moore County used to dominate in that offense, especially under Mcurry.
  3. Great post; only allowing coaches 2-3 years to build a program is a terrible trend in athletics today, especially in highschool football.
  4. And I would bet almost all of the private schools made the playoffs.
  5. Congrats GB!! I love seeing CA get beat. I'll be cheering you on next week to beat that other private school.
  6. That's awesome! Make them travel. Maybe a work study program can help pay for the trip.
  7. Prediction: SP wins 42-24. but I hope SP beats them like the last time CA went there.
  8. Both defenses are really good, NC and the UT signee may be a little better.... But the option game of WC could neutralize that. Toss up.
  9. I WILL NOT be pulling for CA. I think I read where Fville scored once on freshmen so I think the numbers are off. I think SP can win this one by 21 or more. I don't think CA defense is good enough to stop them and SP can stop the run and will find a way to slow the pass game down enough to win.
  10. MTP loses 5 seniors including the Qb#10 and RB#4. MTP was picked to finish 5 in the preseason. Many thought 38 was the best qb but he hurt his throwing shoulder in the Huntland game and we lost a weapon in 10's receiving abilities. 38 also had discipline issues causing him to miss the first half of playoff game.
  11. I agree, on paper, MTP should be down next year. All the skill players will be sophomores, with the exception of 38. He hurt his passing shoulder in the Huntland game and didn't attempt a pass the rest of the year but toughed it out. If he can get it together, watch out. A lot of the line will be back although still just juniors. As you said earlier, the defense needs work and IMO a lot of time in the weight room.
  12. I don't remember what it was like before 2000. I do remember what it was like with 70 on the sidelines and Daily running wild. The numbers for the team and the crowd fell before Coach Smith left. That was also about the time the cannon left and the atmosphere. Here we are Two head coaches later. That trend doesn't build programs. It destroys them. IMO it was a good year 6-4, you can build with that.
  13. Get your panties out of a wad: I am telling you what I saw first hand. If you think you can do a better job coaching, why don't you go ask to help? I hear they need coaches. Have you even met the staff or even the head coach of the school your such a fan of? Have you ever been to a practice? Probably not... I would bet all these SP fans are actually involved in the program...
  14. I agree, your team dominated the line of scrimmage, your youngins looked to be a lot stronger than our youngins.
  15. From a fan that actually went to the game... MTP ran everything at SP, reverses, throwbacks, and a fake punt. I thought we moved the ball well, 3 times in the red zone missing wide open receivers. I have not seen the stats on Facebook yet but I would guess both 10 and 4 had 100 yards rushing or close to it, probably close to 100 more in the air... 2 starting DEfensive Linemen out. 38 didn't play any in the first half. Seniors 10,7,68 didn't start the game... 8 so and fr did. SP was the better team and will be the better team against FVille as well. SP for the win
  16. Warnsley plays TB. Has over 1300 yards rushing this season. He plays on defense as well. If he gets going... Watch out.
  17. as most MTP fans are saying, Thursday night is not good for our community because of work on Friday. I hope the Radio shows up. I liked the article about our boys in the Columbia Daily Herald. Im not sure how to paste it on here but check it out. Go Tigers!!
  18. Bigby claimed a rebuilding year early in the season and the inconsistences in our wins (score wise) I think proves that, with only 5 seniors, the young tigers have gained a ton of experience. I think playing at Moore County will make it a tough game to win but I think the Tigers can do it. Go TIGERS!!!
  19. Only about 10 miles separate these schools but this will be the first ever meeting in varsity Football game. The first game of a long rivalry. Go Tigers.
  20. The mustangs take this one by a few TDs. WC may keep it close for a qtr or two.
  21. I didn't notice any drama: maybe he was talking about Crawford dunking the ball over the goalpost celebration... (Penalty)...Or kicking the ball deep to Crawford (on-side all night) after he had the previous KO TD called back. Richland scored several TD against freshman but the KOR was all starters.
  22. its Senior night for the Tigers. 6 Seniors playing what could be their last time on this field. according to the facebook page, it is also Pink out night... I wonder if they will have pink jerseys. Go Tigers!!
  23. Im pulling for Huntland at home. I read that both teams have had injuries to major players; are any back this week after the off week?
  24. i would like to see a PC victory. they may have to wait a little longer though.
