Jackson County has the potential to be a Playoff team this season. How they handle the adversity of Friday night will tell everyone if they are up for that challenge.

We started out slow. Jackson went up 6-0 early. We finally settled down and was able to put a drive together. Once we scored we never slowed down. Pulled the starters with about 7 minutes left. Score was 34-6 then. We got to put it all together for 4 quarters. We haven’t played a complete game yet.

Actually, Groves was very limited on offense. 1 maybe 2 catches for a handful of yards. 5-7 carries for maybe 25-30 yards. Defensively he did have 2 int’s on two 3rd and longs. He was limping pretty good early in the 3rd and only punted from that point on. We played a very poor game all the way around. We wasn’t ready by any means.

I’ve been around Westmoreland football for about 30 years watching as a kid, playing, coaching and now watching again. I’ve probably only missed 15-20 games in that 30 year period. Tonight was about as bad as I’ve ever seen. No fight, mental mistakes, fundamentals were terrible. I have honestly been to peewee games that were more exciting. From what I seen tonight, Westmoreland doesn’t even deserve to go to Chat town. Horrible, Horrible effort.

You are talking about how bad we are??? Do you not realize that the score was 21-0 half way into the 4th and your offense had only scored once. So if we are as bad as you say, shouldn’t the score have been 35-0 by half?

Or the Watertown play chocking a Westmoreland player with 2 hands around his throat, or the Watertown player stomping on our QBs arm after having his face mask nearly ripped off, or the Watertown player ripping the helmet off of a Westmoreland player and gouging his eyes...... I can fully understand why Coach was pissed.

No, I played at Westmoreland and coached at the high school and middle school for roughly 9 years. Hodge is my nephew though. We’ve just been long time supporters and enjoy going to the games.

This game could be intriguing. Clay Co has an opponent combined record of 5-19 while Westmoreland has an opponent combined record of 15-8. Obviously, Westmoreland has played the harder schedule. That could play a huge factor in this game. Clay Co being undefeated, will definitely come in with the confidence. Westmoreland should come in with a chip on their shoulder and want to get that bad taste out of their mouth after last week. Clay Co is a type of team that if you let them hang around, they could be dangerous later in a game. For Westmoreland to win, they need to take care of business early and let Celina know who’s field they are playing on from the very first kickoff. Westmoreland needs to play the physical type of football that Westmoreland is known for. If Westmoreland comes out with that old school intensity, the rest will take care of itself.

He’s referring to the whole debacle of the free play at the end of the 1st with the offensive penalty. I don’t care if it’s 44-6 or 0-0, any ref getting paid has to know the rules. Period. Coaches are paying these refs money that your kid raised during the year and these refs have no idea how to call it.

As bad as I hate to say it I believe the year was like 1926. TC beat Westmoreland 126-0 I believe. Westmoreland only dressed a few teams in those early years. We didn’t officially start our program until 1960 I believe.

Well then, I guess we can go ahead and call the Macon vs Trousdale game.... 92-0. Trousdale will 1 up what they did to Red Boiling several years back..

I told my wife on the way home, #13 needs to be at a different school. He has college potential. unapproved website has him listed as a 6’4 215lb Sophomore QB. Kid could go to somewhere like Goodpasture or Lipscomb and be a star! Heck, Ezell Harding or DCA really needs a kid like that right now. If he can keep his composure like he did last night on that toxic sideline, he definitely could be a stud elsewhere.

I personally would love to see that game continue. Would always be a good gate game. And we know both teams will play hard.
