Community just came off of a region win with Jackson County and Westmoreland is searching for their first win of the season. What are your thoughts?

The group Westmoreland had last year had around 15 seniors and the majority of those kids started as sophomores. At this time last year, those kids had about 25 games of experience. Now, you have a group where they have 6 out of 22 positions that had playing time a year ago. That means 16 positions now have 3 games of experience and it definitely showed last week. Had a chance to go 14-14 with around 4 minutes to go in the first half. By not scoring from the 2 yard line, it became 21-7 Forrest with seconds left in the half. Huge turning point in the game. There were times that I've seen 4th and inches and we fumble the snap. Fundamental Football. If we can put together a complete game with minimal mistakes we can get back to winning. It's gut check time and we will see who's willing to lay it on the line from here on out. It starts with Attitude and end with Eagle Pride.

I won't know until Friday night. I coached a few of these kids at the middle school level. I go to every game, so my take is from week to week.

From my perspective, it looks to me like this group does not gel together very well. They look to be playing like 11 individuals instead of 1 team. I did see some improvements from last week to this week. As long as they keep moving in that direction, they may have a playoff run. Last year's group lost around 15 seniors and most of those kids had been playing for 2-3 years and they knew how to play as 1 unit. They were a very close group on and off the field and still are. If this group ever learns to play team ball they could open some eyes.

Last I heard he was still running test at ER. Seems to be alert and ok. They wanted to check him out due to numbness on one side of his body.

We have a lot of growing to do

Trousdale will be ok. Look out 1A. Westmoreland will do good to win 5-6 games unless they learn how to play as a team. The big question mark is all in the line.

Should be a good game. Some of these young kids doesn't realize how big of a game this use to be.

I think pujo said it. If westy stays healthy, they will make some noise.

We are a long way from kickoff, but I think a lot of people up here are expecting big things this year. Early spring and things are looking mighty fine for the eagles.

which one? Tailback did graduate but he was hurt early in the year.The Fullback is back.

They did have several seniors but, they had several kids get a lot of playing time due to injuries early on. There will be some big shoes to fill at certain areas but I personally feel like they have a group of kids with some big time potential. I've followed Westmoreland football since the early 90's and this season could be something special if the kids learn to become 1 unit.

I could go for that. There is just way to many on the field that know nothing about the game. You see it week after week.

Quit paying them so much money and maybe you'll get refs on the field that love and know the game instead of a bunch of kids just trying to draw a decent paycheck....just my opinion.

How do you think Westmoreland will stack up since they're dropping down a class? Do you think they will see the same level of competition they have been up against the last few years?

Rockets and Forrest don't mix...Looks like to me they'd burn the trees down...

Westy beat White House a 4A quarterfinal team this year. Believe us all when we say westy's strength of schedule is nowhere close to what you are use too.

I agree, cpa is the most explosive team we seen. About 3 huge missed tackles from being a nail biter. But Heck, as explosive as the lions were, westy was bound to miss some more somewhere that night.

So, asking people from cpa. Since you have seen both westy and lipscomb, who do you think would have won that matchup? Just curious on what sportsnerd and his crew has to say...
