  1. Florida is in their first year of using playoff points, modeled off of Nebraska's playoff system. Here is a link to how it works. https://www.fhsaa.org/sites/default/files/orig_uploads/sports/football/archives/2017-18/master_football_wildcard_points.pdf
  2. Matheny is a freshman. At least 5 of the starters on offense were freshmen, with the same amount on defense. Most of them got playing time this past season also.
  3. You gotta remember also that Lake County has kids coming up at the middle school. They finished in a 3 way tie for the conference title and didn't get to go to the TMSAA playoffs because it came down to tie breakers. They finished 5-2 this year with losses to Dyersburg and a 2 point loss to Northview on a last minute TD, and over half the starters were 7th graders. As long as the kids don't go south to Dyer County or east to Obion County, then the future is looking bright!
  4. If the TSSAA set up the middle schools based on the districts the high schools played in, a true state-wide middle school playoff could be done. Instead of taking the top 4 in each area, you take the top 2 and create a playoff system with that.
  5. Decided to check out using unapproved website. Over the last 10 years, Dresden is 0-7 (did not play 3 of those 10 years). Dresden has been outscored 246-100. What's really funny about this is that the team that went to the state championship in 2011 lost to Huntingdon 42-13. The other loss that season (aside from the 34-0 blowout by Friendship Christian) was to McKenzie 19-7. Now sure, this year's team at Dresden may well blow out Huntingdon, but even on Dresden's best year to date, they still have a loss to the Mustangs.
  6. Sure wins/losses count, but an argument that they were the best team at that time does not count who they played. They beat: Jackson Christian (1-6) Obion County (1-6) Jackson Central (0-7) Trinity Christian (2-5) McNairy Central (3-4) South Side (5-2) They went 6-0 against teams with total records of 12 wins and 30 losses. Until proven otherwise, Peabody is still the team to beat in Gibson County. And as far losing to a "weak Westview team", wouldn't that make your earlier argument as SGHS being the "team to beat" one full of hot air? Just wondering...... Of course, I don't have a dog in this hunt but I felt like adding my two cents worth. Have a nice day!
  7. Its post season time for northwest Tennessee. Northview at Paris Inman Martin at Lake Co. Winners of these two games will duke it out October 20 to determine who gets to play the top team out of Memphis from their small school division on October 24.
  8. LC had to punt once against West Carroll. Downed the ball inside WC's 5 yard line.
  9. Thought I read somewhere that some states, which I think they mentioned Alabama, specifically has law(s) on the books that are designed to protect officials from acts like this. If it happened in Alabama, the players would definitely be facing criminal charges.
  10. Current standings for the WTAC small school division (9/6/15) Lake Co. 2-0, 3-0 Northview 2-0, 2-1 Three Oaks 1-1, 2-1 Halls 0-2, 2-2 Union City 0-2, 0-3
  11. Which won't have any complaints for some extra talent! Sounds like Lake County has it rolling right now.
  12. Current standings for the WTAC small school division (conference/overall) Northview: 2-0, 2-0 Lake Co. 1-0, 2-0 Halls 0-1, 2-1 Three Oaks 0-1, 1-1 Union City 0-2, 0-2
