  1. Anthony Anderson would be a great choice. I have a lot of respect for him. He was an outstanding role model to younger kids even when he was a teenager.
  2. Barn, Alcoa's Jr class this has two guys with SEC offers and Carroll would have if he hadn't committed early to an ACC school. That's pretty good for any class from any school in TN. Two others will likely get an ACC offer and a possible SEC offer. Another has a shot. Also I can name very high rated kids from all schools no matter what size that didn't pan out in college. Pahokee high school is an example of a smaller school that produces high level college talent on a regular basis. Heath Shuler was heavily recruited from small Swain County high school. Alcoa has produced three NFL players since 1989. That's pretty good.
  3. Vols let a great one get away. Grey is the total package.
  4. Thanks brother. Been a fun 4 yrs talking to you
  5. Glad your QB is doing good and ready to go. I won't be involved or around that much from now on, but I guessing PC will be the favorite in the West bracket. If I don't post or talk to you guys, good luck on a healthy season
  6. Haha. Not many home games this year but head over when you can and keep slant and BC company for me.
  7. BC is a good dude and both of you guys are entertaining. Like I said, these four years have been great, but now I really won't be involved as much and I don't know Alcoa's plans. I think next year will be fun to watch for the parents and fans. They may move up, they may not. But either way I wish them and Coach Rankin the best.
  8. You and I may not agree on this issue and with my son graduating I wont be very involved with Alcoa but I think we are both excited about the Eagleton project moving forward. I didn't see the article, but sounds like some good things are happening.
  9. Next year's senior class will be special. I wont get to see them play as much as I'd like, but I encourage everyone to watch the team if you get a chance.
  10. Enough comedy for one day. Gotta get back to work. Sorry we hijacked the tread with all the humor.
  11. LOL. I know you're just trying to provoke a reaction. I'm not keyboard warrior. I look forward to seeing you.
  12. lol. Ok. as far as the O line goes, like I said its a matter of opinion. You won't change mine and I don't care about yours. As far as the other, depends on whom I facing.
  13. team game like I said. LOL. my shot defense? What are you talking about?
  14. It really comes down to opinion, perspective and preference. Lots of great O-lines out there the past couple of years. I think I can make a solid argument for Alcoa's line being the best in the state and I'm sure others can make valid arguments for the Line that they think is the best. No other senior class of O- linemen in 2019 can match what those guys have accomplished. Again, its my opinion, but I can defend it.
  15. 6 seniors, 3 of them All state, 4 state championship rings a piece. Yep. Best Line in the state
  16. As I said most Tuition students don't play football. But if TSSAA added even a 5X multiplier for every tuition student it wouldn't matter. I know Alcoa would never do this, but another school would simply limit its to tuition students to athletes only. So if a school with 650 kids added 20 athletes at a ridiculous 5X multiplier, then that school would still be in 3A and a lot of other kids would simply be denied a great opportunity to go to the school they would like to attend. That's the rumor. Next year it wouldn't matter, they are loaded, wish I had another year to enjoy it as part of the Alcoa family. In the future who knows how the Tornadoes will do, but I feel really good about 2020.
  17. I hope we just appreciate what we are getting to enjoy, because nothing great lasts forever. If other parents and schools don't want to support their kids, that's their own fault. Most tuition students in Alcoa do not play football. Most schools in Tennessee are open enrollment and many of those DO NOT require a student to pay tuition. For example Upperman ( any kid in Putnam county can go there ) as well as East Nashville and Pearl Cohn. non of these schools have won a state championship in football 3A in the last 20 years despite the advantage of open enrollment ( and if I'm not mistaken , no tuition required for OOZ students)
  18. I know this wasn't directed at me, but I will add that was a great effort by the Maryville players and a great job coaching by the Maryville staff. I went on the field after the game and congratulated some of my Maryville kids, some of my Maryville friends and two Maryville coaches that were also friends of mine. Tough loss for Alcoa, but my friends were all very gracious in victory. There were two guys ( not friends of mine) that were out of line but that happens in every crowd and it all gets settled in the end for folks like that.
  19. Good info. I didn't realize East lost so much. How are you guys looking this year? How is the QB doing? Hopefully he is fully recovered.
  20. Whew... Ok. I'm glad that Blount County is looking at possibly opening up some smaller community high schools. ( Trying to fix the disaster they created 40 years ago wrecking our community schools, building two population control- indoctrination centers) Barney, there is some value in your comments, especially the part about parents that went to Heritage and WB being very dissatisfied with their own experience and sending their children elsewhere.but you really seem to focus on Blount County's frustration over Alcoa getting kids from other schools when Maryville also benefits greatly from kids from other schools. BPM- rumor is the big issue is Alcoa's 18 State championship trophies. Some folks really don't like that, they want Alcoa to have a much together road to a state title regardless of how many students they have enrolled.
  21. There is a theory that 5A was just created to give Knoxville teams that could not get past Maryville or Ruth Co teams a division to play in and win a state title. Might not be a coincidence that a few Knoxville schools never won a state title until 5A was created. Central, Farragut, West. If Alcoa moved to 5A, they would might create another division to accommodate teams with over 1200 kids. All kidding aside, I know it urks some folks that Alcoa has 18 state championships, but they played a classification up for years. They are playing exactly were their enrollment puts them and they are not even one of the biggest 3A schools. While next year I do think Alcoa could win 5A, if Alcoa has a drop in talent in a few years but could still win 3A but maybe not 5A, is it far to those kids to be denied a state championship that they would have won if they played in the classification they were actually supposed to be in?
