  1. Boone has a good team but that score surprised me. Next week will be a toss up with West Ridge vs Science Hill. Neither team can throw the ball.
  2. Your Indians did play Volunteer. That’s like playing a pee wee team just sayin
  3. I think many of us saw this coming. Like I’ve said all week, Science Hill has no passing game. None. And they could barely run the ball tonight. Anderson County did want whatever they wanted. They’ve got a stout run game and stout passing game. They moved the ball with ease on the Hilltoppers. Martinez, Moog, Miller...just some great players on that Mavs team. The Hilltoppers better find a QB before next week, that’s all I can say for them. I’m sorry but their starting QB is awful. He can’t throw the ball and he’s not that impressive running it either. I’m pretty sure his first pass last week was an interception, and his first pass tonight was an interception. If I’m Science Hill I don’t start him again. I was told from a lot of Science Hill people over the summer that the best QB on the roster is the ReSue kid. I know he’s just a freshman and I’m sure the last thing Carter wants to do is start a freshman. But I heard from multiple people over the summer that he’s got the best arm on the team. Take your lumps this year and start him anyway but the Swartz kid just isn’t the guy.
  4. Carter doesn’t trust his QB to throw it. How many pass attempts did he have last week? I think his first throw was intercepted. He only threw it 2-3 more times after that. If they can’t run the ball Friday they’re in for a long night.
  5. Elizabethton isn’t very good right now. I think they’ll improve as the season goes on but they didn’t look impressive in their first game. Science Hill beat them in a down year. Science Hill will find out a lot about themselves this week. Anderson County is a lot better than the team they played last Friday. The Hilltoppers are very young on both sides of the ball with very few players with varsity experience. They lost their starting QB, RB, top two WRs and almost all the starters on defense from last year. They’ve got some talent and a plenty of athleticism but it’s going to take some time for them to figure things out and really find an identity as a team.
  6. Can’t see Science Hill winning this one. They have a pretty good defense but virtually no offense. They’re going to try to run the ball. It was evident last Friday night that Carter doesn’t trust his QB to throw it. The Toppers are really young this year with little experience. They have some talent and size on both sides of the ball but they lack experience. Add in that their C can’t play this week and I just don’t see any way the Toppere win this one.
  7. Yes, Elizabethton is young and inexperienced this year but no younger or no more inexperienced than Science Hill. The Hilltoppers basically lost almost all of their starters from last years team. They lost their starting QB, starting RB, top two WRs. And they basically had to replace their entire defense. It’s a brand new team with very little varsity experience. I was at the game Friday night and what I saw were two teams that, at this point, just aren’t very good. Neither team can throw the ball. And unless they can develop some sort of a passing game, they aren’t going to win a lot of games. I will say Science Hill surprised me on defense. They actually have a pretty good defense. Both teams need a lot of improvement though. As for the hit, it was ugly. Can’t tell me that wasn’t intentional.
  8. Looks like another epic collapse by DB. Up 17-0 at one point and now losing 28-17 late in the game. Hats off to HV. As for the Indians, what the heck?
  9. HV is not good. I think DB beats them soundly this week.
  10. I have to agree with FHS, Farragut is the best team in Region 1. I've seen both Farragut and DB and the Admirals are a much better all-around team. Could DB still beat them? Sure. But DB would have to play an almost flawless game and would need some mistakes by the Admirals as well. If both teams play to their potential I believe Farragut wins by at least 14-21 pts.
  11. A lot of youth and inexperience on this year's SH team. This group just hasn't seemed to find their groove yet. I believe this is the youngest team Carter has had in a while over there. But you're right, they could easily be 6-1 right now instead of sitting where they're at. They've got to learn to finish games. Besides Greeneville, they've competed in every game they've played to this point; leading late in most of them. They just haven't been able to put the other team away.
  12. Farragut wins. DB has virtually no passing game. Their offense is the Hicks kid. And I'm sure Farragut knows this and will key in on him. Offensively, the Admirals are as balanced as any team I've seen. They can hurt you with the run or pass. And the defense is stout too.
  13. I haven't seen Hardin Valley but having seen the other 4 I do think both Farragut and Bearden are better overall teams than SH and DB. Farragut is the best overall of the bunch. They're a very balanced team. SH and DB both have weak defenses, especially in the secondary. And neither team has much of a passing game at all.
  14. Farragut has a real good passing game. They had numerous big plays passing the ball against SH last night.
  15. Final score: SH-28 Bearden-21. Good win for the boys from JC.
  16. Those of us with any sense knew this would be a close game. We're going to get blown out next week though. Not sure who you all have next but good luck the rest of the season.
  17. Good game. Close game like I predicted. SH better clean up the penalties. They looked like an undisciplined team tonight. DB just better hope the Hicks kid stays healthy all season.
  18. DB better thank their lucky stars for the Hicks kid because he's the only offense they have. A very good player though.
