  1. On your first point Tyner and Red Bank would like to have a word with you. I will concede that last year the Tigers would have won. But I guarantee you that the 2018 Tigers would not beat the 2016 or 2017 version of the Pioneers back then they had Moore at RB. Your second point is invalid because East Ridge went undefeated in the regular season in 2016, and was pretty darn good in 2017. 1 A football is the smallest level of football in the state. Not only would ER dominate if they played at that level, but any school in 4 A would dominate. There is a reason that the same 3 or 4 teams win championships in 1A all the time. There just is not that much competition. On your third point you are jumping to conclusions and not factoring in many other aspect that go into a season.. You cannot look a schedule and say ,"well we beat so and so... who beat this other team... who beat the best team in the city...therefore we are the best team in the city." I think it is awesome that Whitwell won state and went undefeated last season. But as I said above, Red Bank and Tyner would have probably beaten them. On your fourth point I might be ignorant and biased... but Im just calling balls and strikes based upon the facts. When you play lookout valley , copper basin, and sale creek every year you gotta do a little more to impress me.
  2. Yeah... I disagree. ER would win a state championship every year if we were 1A. This years team should go .500% if they keep playing well. Whitwell had a once in a generation class of kids leave the program after last season. That being said I still do not think they would have beaten a 3 win East Ridge if they played last year. The talent gap was too wide for Whitwell to compete. We had too much speed on defense and used our field position well. Whitwell had a decent punter but he did shank a couple that gave the pioneers the ball around the 50 yard line. The East Ridge players were fired up for this one especially. Whitwell has a lot of our coaches that were on the undefeated regular season team a few years back. I think our kids wanted to prove something... and to me they did.
  3. Dang. And Whitwell has another game on Saturday. That has to be the dumbest thing I have ever heard. Sounds like you guys got sabotaged.
  4. 90 yard pick six for the Pioneers. PAT is no good. 32- 0 GO PIONEERS!!!!

  8. East Ridge has played to the level of their competition in nearly all of its games. It's honestly odd to watch because ER will control games for the most part, but give up just enough plays for the games to remain close. In every game this year there has been a moment where if ER had just had one more good drive they could blow the game open. Yet in each of these moments they commit a turnover or do not score, and allow the other team to keep the game alive. As for this week, ER should be the best team AC has seen so far in terms of raw talent and coaching. That being said, I watched AC play Howard, and the QB play especially on screen plays is going to give the ER secondary fits. ER is also missing some good players that will hopefully return towards the end of the season. The 2 hour bus ride is another factor that is going against ER. A win this week is not impossible, but IMHO AC is probably going to win. Good luck to both teams, and let's hope nobody gets injured. Both teams have post season aspirations, and there is a solid chance these teams could play again.
  9. ♫♫ IT'S THE YEAR OF THE TIGER, WHITWELL IS COMING TO FIGHT. GOING TO BEAT ALL OF THEIR CROSSTOWN RIVALS♫♫
  10. This was a great game. Polk has one of the best atmospheres on Friday night in the state. If it wasn't for the magic trick of a run by ER in the 4th Polk would have won.
  11. Signal needs a win to gain some confidence. They have come close to winning many games in the last two years, but always seem to lose at the end. Like the troll said they don't have a game on the schedule that they can't win, but the flip side of that is losing every game close. As for Tyner, I know Ooltewah is good, but 55-9 is indicative of other problems. This team started 1-5 last year, and I honestly think that a lot of their problems come from the offence they run. This game is going to be closer than the score indicates. I don't think Tyner figures out the offence in time to beat Signal Mt. If this game was week 8 instead of week 2 I think the results would be different. Prediction: Signal - 24 Tyner 6
  12. Care to elaborate? I know they have been down recently, but thought that with the return of the coach that they would be back to what they were.
  13. East Ridge - 28 Stone Memorial - 7 2nd Quarter 3:54
  14. East Ridge - 21 Stone Memorial - 7 2nd Quarter 8:00
  15. East Ridge - 14 Stone Memorial - 7 !st Quarter 3:54
  16. East Ridge - 14 Stone Memorial - 0 1st Quarter 8:00
  17. Does the game start at 7pm central time? Our fine paper makes no distinction.
  18. The best way to describe the Ty Wise era is unlucky. He came in with some high expectations. Last season the team seemed to have a falling out after the opening loss at East Hamilton. It is my understanding that multiple players left the team after that game, thinning out an already small roster. My speculation is that the team and the coach just never came to terms. It is not like Signal was a down program that needed to be rebuilt, instead they were one of the more respected programs in the city.
  19. Its finally game day!!! Here is my pick. ER - 28 SC - 21
  20. East Ridge has a few things going for them. This was an undefeated team at this time last year, that lost almost its entire coaching staff in the off season. They have had some ugly games, but the team seems to be coming together at the right time. Health has been an issue all year, but now most the injured players are back. Most important is the fact that Moore (RB) has just started to pound the rock like he did last year. He really wasn't 100% for most of the season, but the last 3 weeks he has had an impact. Here he is at Dekalb Co, where he had arguably his best game of the season. http://www.unapproved website.com/athlete/traneil-moore/3lRKDHGtEeW-8KA2nzwbTA/default.htm
  21. If Notre Dame had made a better offer to get the game moved to Finley they might have had a chance. It's the Pioneers turn next week.
