  1. No, that is good news! Don’t get fooled by some of the posters on here, there is a lot of respect towards the Cornersville program over in Mustang Country. Some of the most physical ball games I’ve seen between these 2 schools. Would be great to see it continue as a 1A rivalry game when it matters most! How awesome would it be to schedule a regular season matchup??
  2. Baring any type of injury, upset, etc; we are headed for one heck of a collision course with Lake County. Size, speed, experience across the board for both teams. Will forever be pulling for my mustangs, but the west will very well represented in 1A this year no matter the outcome. Can count on one hand the teams in this area that could beat either of these 1A squads no matter the classification. Good luck to both teams this season. One game at a time
  3. You know Milan will bring the athletes. Is the Williamson kid healthy?
  4. No, Ensley is most definitely playing football this year as well. He has a legitimate chance of being drafted early next year so I’m sure he is showcasing those skills until school starts back.
  5. Those few of the Huntingdon posters on here have probably never put a helmet on in their life! And if they did, they probably sucked. It’s embarrassing for our entire town. Great game Whitwell and Cornersville. Was on the edge of my seat the entire game!!
  6. This weather fits perfectly into Cornersville’s aggressive & gritty personality. Go DAWGS! Cheering on from Huntingdon
  7. I did say 1A. Huntingdon had been in 2A for a long time, so not very familiar with many 1A teams until recently. Therefore they are the best I’ve seen in this classification since the Stangs moved down. Again I was referring to their Defense. Sorry to piss you off so bad lol
  8. I can see pros and cons of both staying the night prior and coming up the morning of. However, it’s interesting that Cornersville is approx. 140 mi from Cookeville & Whitwell is about 75 mi from Cookeville and it’s the Dawgs coming in the morning. There’s something to say about sleeping in your own bed (and not in a hotel with 35 teenage buddies). Anyway, safe travels to both. P.S. - Tha tigers looks pretty big and fast on film. I was impressed with what I saw. However, I saw the CornDogs live & in color on Paul’s Turf and they are the best defensive team I’ve ever witnessed in 1A football. They play assignment football. Quick to the ball and FIZ-UH-KOOL. I expect a great, great game.
  9. That’s what I meant by my initial statement. No way you can compare the two teams
  10. Naw he played at UTM. They had a good QB and a dumpster as a defense.
  11. Pulling for the DAWGs from Mustang Country. Yes some of the posters on the T give Huntingdon a bad name, but I can tell you that every Huntingdon fan I’ve talked to in real life have nothing but respect for C’Ville and know that you guys are the REAL DEAL. Go get you a gold ball to cap off what’s been a heckuva 2 years for you guys!
  12. I’m another Huntingdon fan that agrees 100%. I thought last year we were the better team. This year they were the real deal. #22 has a passion for the game that is admirable. Pulling for you guys to win out
  13. #22 was getting direct snaps and running down our throats. You don’t see C’Ville fans getting all tore up. Why? Because their kids executed and made plays. We got beat by a better team. It happens.
  14. Those calling for The HC’s head are delusional. My god lol. We had some opportunities to win this game but ultimately the players have to make plays. The kid making the big catch with our 2 best defenders on top of him on 4th down. Doesn’t get any bigger than that. C’Villes defense is the real deal. They fill, pursue, get down hill, and HIT. Pulling for you guys hard the next 2 weeks. Great season Stangs!
  15. Gameday is FINALLY here. It's been a while since we've hosted a game of this magnitude at Paul Ward. I hope all of you Cornersville fans (and anyone else coming) has safe travels and enjoys a nice meal and beverage (or 6) before the game in our community. I've got nothing but respect for you guys and the way you play. If it's not meant for us to win tonight, then you've got a fan in me for the rest of the way. Praying for no injuries and a hard-fought battle between both teams. Stangs - 34 Dawgs - 28
  16. Huntingdon also had some really good teams in the late 90s to early 2000s. Back when the region was like the SEC West. Battles with Martin Westview, Milan, Union City, etc. Those playoff games were packed. I’m hoping to bring back some of that mistique to tomorrow’s showdown at Paul Ward. I have a feeling we are in for one to remember.
  17. Great post. Friday can’t get here quick enough. The turf is frozen tonight, but will be bright & shiny Friday night.
  18. Anyways, back to football talk. Any Cornersville fans wanna feel me in on the line play. How many played on last years team? Heard they lost a couple of studs from last yr on the line but couldn’t remember
  19. Don’t pay any mind to General he is a Forrest fan, they got put out by a “down” Waverly team
  20. Those are some impressive stats. Hope our DB's can be more disciplined in the passing game than last year. The 2 big pass plays killed us. We have some aggressive DB's that like to come up and lay the wood, as you do as well. That can come back to bite you if you aren't anticipating pass first. I believe we will run more pass plays than last year, simply because if it's not there Ensley has the ability to tuck it and run for a touchdown. A lot of the times, you would never know we were running a pass play because Ensley has the vision and awareness to get to the outside without skipping a beat if noone is there and score on a long run.
  21. I agree. The thing that scares me the most about Cornersville is how the defense swarms to the ball as a whole and how quickly they get downhill. They gang tackle and hit hard. Just like last year. As far as offense, Woodard can and will get positive yardage everytime he touches the ball. I just hope we are able to bottle him up. Whitaker scares me in space. All in all, this game can go either way. Cant wait for Friday night!
  22. He's the younger brother of #44 Kade Pearson of last yr
