  1. Powers that be have a chance at redemption now. No way they can muck up two Marshall Co head coaching searches in 3 years. Is there?
  2. Just depends on the crew and the game. Some games they let them play and some games the referee wants to be the star of the show. All you can ask for is consistency for both sides from start to Finish.
  3. Watching the Panthers' games the thing that always stands out is coaching. Talentwise most years they are comparable to Forrest. This year their QB is better (our starter missed the whole season) and their offensive line is bigger (we choose to leave 2 270 pounders on the sideline). The exception is Riverside will have the right players in the right places on offense, defense, and special teams. They will be prepared for everything ER has shown until this point. They will call a trick play at exactly the right time and will be the more disciplined team on the field. Should be a fantastic game. Let's hope the officials aren't mentioned at all on here next week.
  4. This is an indictment of TSSAA. Why would officiating not be consistent? Why do they get to play at Chatt? Watch the Huntingdon-Riverside game where everything is called and the game had no continuity. And then watch Riverside-Fairley and mouthing is rampant with no calls. We had games this season where guys in the huddle were flagged for mouthing and then the next game where players could jaw over every play with no call. Some crews call chop blocks every game and some never make that call. The teams blocking style doesn't change but they can't move the ball because off the crew. Inconsistency is not a good look and these playoff all star crews have been lacking.
  5. That's a nice job by the officials in the heat of the brawl. #54's ejection is questionable, he was all up in the middle of everything but didn't really throw hands or feet. 0 and 2 are fortunate to be playing this week. Overall, ER showed restraint in the brawl and knew they were playing in the championship if they didn't get tossed. York was out of control.
  6. Just finished that classic. Isn't an organization like TSSAA supposed to handle situations like this? No way officials on the field are able to accurately determine who gets ejected in that melee. Terrible look for the players, coaches, and schools. Video must be used. I thought #5Y unsportsmanlike on the tackle that started everything. #2ER should have received an unsportsmanlike on the kickoff return prior to that play and he tried to kick #5 in the head on the ground in the scramble. #0 needed an Unsportsmanlike on the play. #70Y needed tossed. #54 ER and #2ER were close to being ejected. #48Y should be ejected three times and enrolled in a MMA or anger management classes. What was the actual calls and who got thrown out?
  7. No one is this delusional. You're either a McKenzie coach patting himself on the back or his wife. In your feelings way too much about the accomplishments of a high school sports team. Weird. When the raiders ignored you you brought Fayetteville and Forrest into it. and implied his injury wasn't legit or had anything to do with the result. Good luck, coach or mrs. coach. Keep up the better game planning.
  8. I've been involved in my share of stupid arguments on the internet but this is one of the dumbest. I planned to log in and give the MC posters some grief after the game but got distracted by trolling and putting down a great player and better person and my focus shifted. I didn't have a dog in the hunt but I have zero tolerance of low IQ adults taking shots at a kid who has more talent in his injured leg than they do in their whole body. Did Brock Purdy's elbow injury at the beginning of the NFC championship game affect the outcome? Does anyone in Philadelphia care that the injury was mentioned after the game?
  9. Names aren't being released but was told over 30 people formally applied. We had a handful of players after the 2022 season on the fence about playing or staying at Forrest. Players were promised a new offense. We got a new OC in the spring. Most liked the new guy and his system and most everyone stayed. This hire was the single biggest factor that kept the team together. He was supposed to have full control of the offense. We looked decent running a spread offense and the players were optimistic. He was undermined after the first scrimmage (against a tough Macon County) and fired after week 1. Dumb decision. The players were duped and got another season of making chicken salad with chicken excrement. That move was one of the factors that cost the HC his the job.
  10. Somehow mentioning the top player on Moore County and maybe all of 1A had an injury which affected the outcome of the game is making excuses and being a MC homer. I can't wrap my mind around that statement triggering a high school football fan. Neither you nor I give two flips about MC's success but it's not debatable #6 was playing through an injury. That injury was the biggest story of this game much bigger than McKenzie's pass rush or defensive game plan. So Eagleville brought their own concession stand to Lynchburg and one of their players gator rolled #6s knee in a pile?
  11. Wait, wait this is a Huntingdon fan? The same Huntingdon team White torched as a freshman? On their own field? I don't pull for Moore Co so there is no "you" when talking to me. I don't care who won that game. I watched it and got on here and read low football IQ posts and responded. There are no excuses in my post you quoted. Are you too young or too stupid to remember the same QB last year running all over the senior heavy undefeated squad? He was a one man show. So you think the same QB a year older and stronger and faster was kept in check by last year's JV squad and real coaches. Do you think he wore a knee brace and limped around and didn't return kicks this season? Your 21 total posts are proof CoachT needs a minimum IQ to post on this site.
  12. Announcers said #6 had a knee injury and he was wearing a brace. It was obvious to anyone with a functioning brain he wasn't the dynamic runner he has been the last two seasons. Without his running he isn't the same player and Moore County isn't the same team. Anyone saying Moore was exposed or overrated is a troll or not very smart, maybe both. First clue was that he wasn't on kickoff return or punt returns and played sparingly and timidly on defense. Most likely he wouldn't have played at all if this was a regular season game. No one can say how the game would have turned out if he was close to 100% but they were dead even with only a 60-70% Dawson White.
  13. I doubt any competent coach gives two hoots about what's on this site. The bar is so low, if a new coach comes in and runs an offense that puts the right players on the field and calls a play before the play clock expires he will get the keys to the city and everyone on here will be tired of hearing how great he is. I will be the happiest person on the T to log in every Saturday next season & tell everyone how awesome our new coach is and highlight our players. I've tried to stay matter of fact and not get personal. It's not 2nd guessing if you type it in the summer and the coach does the opposite months later and your 3-7 or 4-7. I only detail what happened in game situations or what kid isn't playing but this comes off as bashing. I generally don't get negative until the season goes off the rails. In 2021 the defense was praised all season and more games than not in 2023. The offense was given credit in 2022. There just hasn't been a decent full team effort at Forrest other than 2019. The General is much more colorful in his criticisms than I. His recap from Loretto a few years back is a must read. Anyone who can spell football on the first try will probably agree with 85% of what we type. We have opposing fans question decisions by forrest after 1 game and we watched this for 70 games.
  14. Thanks for the half hearted encouragement. lol Maybe if we get a good one we'll get another crack at the yellow jackets. All our players are tooo young to remember the tail kicking we took at a scrimmage over there several years ago. I still have football PTSD from that experience.
  15. Field looked to be in terrible shape between the hashes 2 weeks ago on our live stream. If that area is soaked those East Robertson gazelles may have trouble getting started. I'd have the sprinklers on now.
  16. What a coincidence. We will only interview 5 candidates.
  17. Thanks. You had a solid bunch of seniors last year who got the shaft because the adults botched their jobs. IMO, this year's team didn't reach their potential due to the incompetency of that process. Sadly, some of the same ones in charge of your process will be involved in ours.
  18. That's the rumor here. Close to 30 applications in and some top shelf coaches have applied and others reached out off the record. Hoping we can respect the candidates and keep it quiet unlike another program a few years back. Look out 2A East.
  19. So who's concession stand was it? I will apologize to RuCo if False info from MoCo was spread.
  20. Solution was tainted with estrogen and unfortunately that rubbed off and affected our players down the stretch too. Our guys had baby soft skin and were moody after playing the champions.
  21. Since we're all done for 2023. Bump to see how everyone's preseason thoughts panned out. (Ignore pages 2-6 because East Robertson thought they were in this region until June. ) A few fun ones. A few that didn't age so well.
  22. Job search is wide open. A change was made with no successor in mind. We have a competent middle school coach who hasn't lost a game since 2020 who has to be considered but interest has been high. I don't care if he's young or old but offensive minded is a must.
  23. 100% chance GhostofFootballPast is a Smith County supporter trying to motivate the Owls with bulletin board material? Welcome to the Board. Bold Predictions!
