  1. This will be an ESPN 30 for 30 episode
  2. Cascade has the players to win this game. Their power run game is better than ours and we had no trouble moving the ball. They are inconsistent and make some strange calls but they I won't be surprised if they grind out a win.
  3. If we score 2 TDs we will have a parade for the team after the game. Defense has to play a perfect game for Forrest to have a chance. Offense and special teams have been a liability on our 4 game skid. #1 was putting up video game numbers midseason for us but has been getting mauled at the line of scrimmage lately. Who knew it was so hard to get athletes the ball in space?
  4. Even if Cascade takes care of business Friday they will need some help from the Rockets to win the region outright and actually earn the name "Champions". Are your coaches giving our coaches much needed suggestions this week?
  5. We had the QB, and the RB, and the best lineman in 2022 and were 3-7. Must be something else as to why we aren't doing much.
  6. I would think the entire point of the playoff possibility spreadsheet would be to clear up the ? ? ?'s ?
  7. Fayetteville's three peat in middle school led to 10-0 (2019), 13-2 state champions (2020), 11-2 (2021), and 12-1 (2022) seasons. Forrest was 3-7 last year and either 4 -6 or 5-5 this year. Success should be around the corner.
  8. It's an even region. Top 4 teams in Region 4 are within a TD of each other. Marion finds ways to win while Forrest finds ways to lose.
  9. First drive got us to 1st and G at the 10. 1st down was a QB keep for loss of 2. Run left to #4 for no gain and desperation heave to endzone. FG on 4th down. #1, 6, 22, and 25 didn't touch it on those 4 plays. The "two minute" drive. We had a 1st and 10 at the MC 20 with 1:14 and one TO. Our 5th and 6th graders could run 5-6 plays in that situation. We have the QB run you mention and take an illegal procedure with 20 seconds left on 2nd down. Ball was snapped with 15 secs on next play. In 64 secs we ran 2 plays and lost 7 yards. One more incompletion and we try a rushed 44 yd FG with 5 seconds left with a timeout in our pocket. Can't disagree with that. That's a snapshot of the entire program. We have a kicker who's as good as anyone in 2A and extra points are an adventure. I would recommend going for 2 but we don't have any 2 point plays. It's become a pleasant surprise when we have a good snap, hold, blocking, and a kick. What other team trots their kicker out there to attempt 60 yd FGs in the hopes of getting a touchback? Special teams is yet another aspect that looked bad in week 1 and nothing has changed.
  10. TSSAA will charge $10 and a parking fee for anything that says playoff$. I'm trespassing too.
  11. If CoachT suggestions and words of wisdom did any good, Forrest wouldn't be 7-12 over our last 19 games.
  12. They will force the ball to #4 and hit #1 on a counter once a half. For some reason we were only ready for one of the two options. Absolutely Cascade can win this game.
  13. If you're a Loretto guy I wish I could tell you how exciting it is to watch a program that was tiers below us make a coaching change and gradually ascend until they pulled even and then way above where we are. But I'd be lying. It sucks. Good luck in postseason.
  14. One week after wrapping up Region 5-1A Moore County moved to 3-0 in Region 4-2A. I attended two home games this season at the Rock. Cornersville & Senior Night. What should have been a passionate, fired up crowd for a decades-old rivalry had the feeling of a late July scrimmage on a practice field somewhere that started before most parents got off work. There was more emotion at the district cross country race at Horton Park a few weeks ago than at this Senior Night football game. Forrest played the part of Mike Tyson's sparring partner for 3 quarters. Our players never really backed down and had some big hits. There were a few glimpses of athletic ability making something out of absolutely nothing on offense. But by halftime you could tell there's not much enjoyment in this job and everyone knew how this movie was ending. This is the part where I highlight a few players and critique the game but why bother. Does pointing out multiple miscues or getting frustrated with an offense that tips the play by formation on 4 out of 5 plays do any good? Nope. Best of luck to Moore County. Much more physical version than we faced in 2020-2022. I hope to watch you play in Chattanooga in a few weeks.
  15. I remember him as a lanky sophomore safety two years ago. Looking at the rosters that game and all the promising sophomores I thought these two teams have a bright future. Boy, was I wrong.
  16. Score update Gordonsville 13 Bledsoe 0 12 minutes to play in the 1st quarter. Good luck Purple Tigers!
  17. That was his total last season except with 6 TDs. We kicked off to #23 to open the 3rd Q after fighting back to 24-14 before the half. He ran it back and the game was over 31-14 at that point. Their will be 4 explosive players out there tonight. #1 and 22 for us and #6 and 23 for MC. Two will start off in open field and two will have to break several tackles to get there.
  18. This puts us on par with Cascade or Collinwood. Our DC saw last year what didn't work and also that dropping 8 doesn't work against Gordy so we'll see what twists he came up with. I don't see our offense scoring more than 2TDs against starters. Although we had a freshman last year put up 150 and 2 scores on 6 first half touches. We also have a freshman this year that will be the next Dawson White before it's over. I don't know if you will see him doing anything but lead blocking or taking a snap and spinning around to run up the middle though.
  19. Hard to come up with top 5 for 2A. Pickett, Lovvorn, Willoughby, Kines from Region 4 are all good players but not getting statewide buzz. I can't name any of the top players from Regions 1,2, 7, or 8. Thomas and Eubanks from R6. Stanley from R5. Mt. Pleasant or Loretto QB or a Groves. You'll get nothing but ridicule mentioning a Forrest player on this thread. Bell will finish his senior season and join the ranks of McCoy, McCown, Follis, Whittaker, and Davis as another underused and misplayed Forrest senior in this regime.
  20. He's a big physical back. He had 120 yards against a 4-4 Forrest. Sat out most of the 2nd half on offense and defense and came up short on 4th and 4 on the last drive. Same defense gets White tonight for comparison.
  21. This is why this guy is a top poster on the T. Gordonsville and Watertown are well coached and fundamentally sound. Forrest is not. The rosters are similar. (I would argue we had better players but say they are even or slightly better). We were outscored 48-7. It was a strategical massacre. An X and O mismatch. We could swap head coaches, practice for two weeks, and replay the games. The result would be reversed. The same mistakes from the same players in Game 1 are made every week this season. Discipline and blocking technique, AWOL. What possible reason would two guys spend on here trashing a good coach? Why would we waste our time discussing a program with no talent or potential? At times we look like the high school football version of Major League where the principal and coach are colluding to wreck the season and we're in season 6. Both of the teams you mentioned who gave Waverly a good run in the playoffs were 5 win regular season teams. One was mercy ruled 4 times and was down to Watertown 48-0 at halftime at homecoming.
