  1. Bradley is now up 19-18 with 160-220 left.
  2. Mcelhaney over Landers. He looked like he had it together tonight.
  3. It was a questionable call to send it to OT. Had that not happened, TJ most likely wins 1-0 in regulation. Whether the call was right or not, I still couldn't be more impressed with Bowers. That freshman is the real deal.
  4. I was looking at results on track, and noticed Tennessee High wrestled tonight. I saw some weight changes that could effect things in a big way. Most notably, Pendley to 138 and Nelson to 106. They are probably both the favorites at those weights unless there's been more weight changes I haven't seen.
  5. Brackets are up. Looks like Martin has been changed to the 2 seed.
  6. Didn't Seeley of Science Hill pin the kid that beat Isbell at the Independence tournament? Kind of strange that he's #3 and Seeley is unranked after Seeley placed 2nd and Isbell 4th in the same tournament. Also, I agree with you Humor. It seems like Beech continues to be ranked high because of the speculation over what people think they could be. I'm not saying Beech can't be as good as people think. I just don't think they've earned it yet. If they get Rippy and their other kids back, and start beating some teams, then move them back up. Until we see it on the mat, maybe we should temper our expectations.
  7. Track has Boykin beating Evans 5-4. I would of loved to have seen the match in person.
  8. Here's how it says the rankings work on the website. It's an interesting concept. It seems like it would be more accurate the later into the season it gets. "How It Works RankWrestlers is a subscription-based website. For $25 / year, you can see all the ranking information in every state. If you try it out for a year and decide not to renew, there is no automatic renewal. The information is taken directly from TrackWrestling. Most states / coaches are very good at providing most of the match information to TrackWrestling. In the rare case that you sign up and find that there is no / not very much information about you / your opponents, you are entitled to a full refund within 24 hours. Obviously not all wins / losses are equal, so just comparing a wrestler's win percentage does not give an accurate indication of their performance. RankWrestlers considers multiple factors when ranking the wrestlers. All wins and losses are adjusted according to the type of win and the quality of the opponent. The average of the three highest adjusted win percentages of opponents that the wrestler defeated is listed under the column "3 best." A column title "H2H" makes head-to-head adjustments for matches between closely ranked opponents. If a lower ranked wrestler that is within fifteen percent in the total ranking defeats a higher-ranked wrestler, then the higher-ranked wrestler's ranking is reduced by half the difference and the lower ranked wrestler is raised by half the difference to move the winner of the contest in front of the loser. It is possible to have multiple head-to-head adjustments, though, so a different head-to-head adjustment could possibly leave the losing wrestler in front of the winning wrestler from an earlier adjustment. The adjusted win percentage and top 3 wins are averaged, and the head-to-head adjustments are applied to determine the total ranking. The ranking will make the biggest improvement when a wrestler defeats tougher opponents, and it will drop more with losses to opponents with lower win percentages. A wrestler's ranking will also change as opponents wrestle more matches, because the opponent's adjusted win percentage is continuously updated throughout the entire season (as their record becomes more indicative of their strength), and the new opponent win percentages are applied to the wrestler's earlier wins / losses."
  9. Wow. For whatever reason track shows them forfeiting 145, 160, and 220. Still haven't seen Rippy in their lineup yet. Does anyone know where he's been?
  10. Looks like Martin beat Wheaton 3-2 at 126 last night in a potential matchup we could see in February.
  11. I'm personally liking either Cleveland or Wilson Central to be the teams to possibly knock Bradley off. The amount of young talent on that Cleveland team is ridiculous. With an extra year under their belts, they should be much improved. As for Wilson Central, they are always a top team, but just seem to be missing a piece or two to get them over the top every year. With all the transfers that they supposedly got this year including a possible state champion, they might of found those extra pieces. With that said, I still don't see anyone knocking Bradley off. If I had to put money on it this early I'd say Bradley, Cleveland, Wilson Central, Tennessee, Beech in that order. Just my preseason prediction. Time will tell.

  13. Kramer is in the semis after taking out the top seed 3-1.
