All I can say is that the coach Gentry has turned Lebanon around. I wish him best in whatever he decides to do.

From all that I heard about it, this was a great game. Too bad that anyone had to lose. Mt. Juliet showed that they are a team that everyone should respect. After they throttled Blackman, and battled Oakland to a close game, I think it is safe to say they were underrated this year.

Ravenwood is peaking a the right time. I believe this is the year that they return to the state. Very impressive and convincing win over Brentwood.

Not had the opportunity to see any of Oakland games in person, but I have watched video of the their big games with Blackman, Maryville, and Mt. Juliet. After watching these games, I would definitely call them inept when having to pass the the ball. Not being critical, just speaking the truth. I respect all that Creasy is doing at Oakland, I just don’t think he can win this game. With that said, I hope they prove me wrong.

I do not see anyway that Oakland can beat Maryville. As much as I would like for Rutherford County to be represented in the title game, Maryville will win this by 2 touchdowns. Oakland is one dimensional on offense, but very stout on defense. Can’t see how they will be able to run the ball consistently against Maryville. Either way kudos to the Patriots for making to the semis for the last four years.

Like a well known philosopher once said. "Don't put the game in the hands of the officials in the first place". Game came down to one team making a play and another one not. However, the sun came up this morning, and billions of Chinese could have cared less who won or lost. I suspect that Oakland will exact their revenge once or perhaps twice next year against in Maryville, but as for the State Championship this year.....Go Rebels!

Two good programs will be playing in Maryville on Friday night. Maryville hasn't lost a game since Moby Dick was a minnow. Not going to happen this year either. Maryville 24 Oakland 10

Cookeville will win this game by two touchdowns. Now come on MidTennFootball, surely you have some type of smart remark about this prediction.

Two very well coached teams will be facing each other tonight. It will be the biggest game that Cookeville has had at home in a long time. It is for this reason and a couple more that I am picking the Cavaliers. Cookeville 21 Oakland 14

Both teams represent Rutherford County well, but I believe Blackman will win by around 17 points. I haven't seen this much talent on one team since the early days of Rankin at Riverdale. Creasy gets the most out of a little, and he will keep it close for awhile. I say by the middle of the 3rd quarter the Blaze will be salting the game away with Master. Everyone needs to get there early, I am sure it will be a packed house.

I would have to agree that Oakland went into a shell, when they should have pushed the envelope. I would also agree that the game was the poorly officiated. Whether or not the calls that were not made would have made a difference, I am not sure. I do, however, believe these officials should be ashamed of themselves. If this is the best we can get, perhaps we need to pack it in.

Stewarts Creek appears to be gettting better toward the end of the season. I believe they have a good chance beating Hillsboro.

First let me start by saying I have never responded much to online message boards, but I cannot allow this attempt to attack someone's character to go by without responding. First let me say this in my attempt of being transparent. I not only know Bill Spurlock, but I would consider him a friend. I am not sure what Mr. Spurlock did to MidTennFootball, but instead of trashing him on a public message board, perhaps you need to speak to him in person.. I do understand that each of us have the right to free speech, however, there is this thing called libel and slander. MidTenn take it from me, he is a good listener, and I am sure he would listen to the issues that you have against him. Just my two cents worth. Now on to football. Can anyone seriously beat Maryville this year? I will believe it when I see it.
