I will agree, however, the Bulldog D-line was way more successful in previous games and had the QB running for their life, unlike Cassidy who was afforded much more time to pass. He was flushed at times but not as much as expected. As I understand it, the whole Rebel team had a game-of-their-life kind of game and that's exactly what they needed. We'll see if they can do it again in Fayetteville.

I think they hand Fayetteville an easy loss. McKenzie is strong on the line both O and D. Taylor (RB) and Cassidy (QB) are smart and skillful. Can't leave out McCreary (RB) either. I just don't think Fayetteville has anyone to match what McKenzie brings to the field. Well rounded team, can throw, rush, and stand ground at the line. If McKenzie has the same game they had against us, it'll be a similar score. Mckenzie by 3 TDs at least.

I believe you are referring to 2017 when #7/#22 Woodard got hurt (don't remember the year he switched numbers). He went back to State in 2018 when we lost against Whitwell. He was healthy that year. But that Woodard is cousin to QB #9 Woodard. However, there is another Woodard as well, RB/DB #5 which is QB #9's cousin and the younger brother of the Woodard you're referring to. Does that make sense? Woodard's run deep in Bulldog Football history. It's a family tradition.

You're correct. I was looking at region, not overall. However, after assessing those numbers, i think it averages close to the same.

After your last comment, it's hard to take this one seriously. Cornersville allowed only 39 points scored against them in the regular season. To put that in perspective, we faced Fayetteville who scored 247 points in the regular season and we held them to 18 and shouldn't have allowed that but they had a an 86 yard rush and a 42 yard pass. We didn't score three times in the redzone and had every chance. McKenzie has scored 258 in the regular season. So if we can stop the splash plays and tighten up the offense (which we have), and stay solid on defense it's not gonna be a pushover like you think.

In 2018, we met LC for the semi-finals. We were crammed in the press box with about 12 other people. We were looking over shoulders and could barely see the left end zone. Due to Covid this year, I can pretty much guarantee you'll be sitting on the bleachers. But with that in mind, enjoy the ride. LC is a beautiful place. The fans are outstanding and although Boyette's is probably nice, it was way crowded when we went to eat so we ended up just down the road at Lakeview Dining Room. They have great food as well. Again, enjoy the experience and congrats on making it that far!

#70 is out for the season with a torn ACL and MCL. He will need surgery. #11 has recently been sick. He look winded after numerous plays last night. I'll admit, I'm spoiled!

I was looking right at #40 when he suplexed the Tiger. I felt it was uncalled for but tempers were flaring all night (good rivalry) and he probably let his emotions get the better of him. Either case, it was not justifiable. If I were to guess, he got tossed simply because that move is what set the deal for the rest of the commotion on the field. Therefore, had he not got tossed, I would be willing to be the refs would have caught all sorts of Hades for not tossing a Bulldog and only tossing Tigers. And then again, maybe the refs had had enough of the chipping on the field as well and decided to make a statement. KJ was amazing to watch. Hats off to that young man. I'll cringe for the next few years when we play City if he's on the field.

This will be a very good game. The Bulldog defense is very good about getting to the ball. The MLBs can sniff out the ball and shut the run down very well. They also have a safety who has gotten very good at open field tackles. Yes, the Dawgs have great strength in their RBs but one in particular has some wheels and if he can get away from the crowd with the ball, he'll see a lot of Tigers in his rearview. I believe the Dawgs have strength and speed. Again, I am looking forward to this game. No score predict because I don't do that but I do predict a Bulldog win! #GoDawgs

Moore County has a new head coach, Kris White, who has a couple of state titles under his belt as a defensive assistant at Knox Catholic. Coach Randolph and his crew has a couple of state title appearances so the experiences of both head coaches will be level. Coach White comes off a five year stint as a defensive assistant and will face the Bulldog defense coached by Coach Cook who has shown stellar coaching in the past few years. The Bulldog defense is not one to reckon with. Moore County travels to Cornersville who's atmosphere is unlike the rest of Region 5. I think this will be a low scoring game but I have to take the Dawgs with one TD.

MCHS Football - Friday night’s home opener vs. Columbia Academy has been cancelled.

The last time these two faced was in 2016. Collinwood beat Cornersville 8-6 on a bad snap into the endzone for a safety. This could potentially be a close game but I'll take the Dawgs by 2 TDs.

Unfortunately we were dealing with distractions ourselves in the press box. It was a very difficult game to call and as a broadcaster momentum is part of our trade as well. A lot of questions on the field made it difficult for us as well. I understand your comment. We are sometimes frustrated with our own broadcasts. I would just ask that you be a bit more constructive rather than destructive. On another note, anonymity can be fun can’t it?

This was going to be the matchup of the year for both teams but with MP's key player injured, I'm curious how MP will fair against the Dawgs. It wills till be a good game and one that will be a place-maker for either team in the standings.
