  1. New TN Report Rankings 1. Blackman 11. MTCS 2. Bradley Central 12. Cookeville 3. Webb 13. Oakland 4. Bartlett 14. McKenzie 5. Coffee Co 15. South Gibson 6. South Side 16. York Institute 7. Cleveland 17. Clarksville 8. Westview 18. Greeneville 9. Upperman 19. Gatlinburg- Pittman 10. Ensworth 20. East Nashville
  2. Got a kid named Joya Crawford, #24 maybe (that might be wrong). I have been corrected since my previous post: she has an offer from Memphis. Not committed but definitely has a D1 offer.
  3. I saw South Gibson this summer and have seen them once this year. Looking at their upcoming schedule, we'll know more in a few weeks. They play Gibson Co, McCracken (KY), Crockett Co, then go to Christmas tournament at White Co. My take on them coming into the season has not changed as of yet. They defend well and they can shoot it. If they had a legitimate post player, they would be a real threat. They are nowhere near South Side's level, but they may be good enough to get to a state tournament. Looks like South Gibson only gave up 29 points to a Dyersburg team with a guard committed to Memphis. I wasn't there so you would have more insight on that. McNairy Co is probably the best team on the other side of their region and McNairy lost to Dyersburg 59-50. I'm going to try to watch the stream of the SGC/GC game tomorrow night.
  4. Wayne County has a PG with multiple NAIA offers and a 6’1 sophomore (?) with multiple D1 offers. They can play
  5. Davis, Sims and Harrison are all great players. My opinion - Harrison is the most talented of the three but doesn't always play hard. When Harrison decides to play, she is almost unstoppable.
  6. Should be a good game. I'll take Westview by 4-8
  7. I love that you're releasing weekly rankings. Makes for GREAT conversation
  8. Haven’t seen either so far this year. Saw Elizabethton this summer and they looked good. Strong guard play. Based on what I’ve heard, Greeneville is really good as well. Both have a good chance to make state tourney and could challenge anybody when they get there
  9. Their region was in Tullahoma last year, so it should be somewhere in the Upper Cumberland this year. You’re right that it’s early and injuries can always change things. But Lawrence County, in my opinion, does not have the talent to compete with Upperman, White Co, Cumberland Co or Livingston. I guess they could possibly upset one of those teams to make a region semifinal, but I can’t see them in a region final game. I agree that Coach Scott does a good job. Lawrence Co will play hard, but they just don’t have the talent or size to match up with those teams on the other side of the region.
  10. I watched Lawrence Co/Loretto last night. That Lawrence County team is not a threat to get out of a region that includes Livingston, Cumberland Co, White Co, Upperman, Lincoln Co and Page.
  11. @HawkGuy06 can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think they start three seniors. Their two best players are seniors - one guard and a forward - and I think their point guard is a senior.
  12. New TN Report Rankings dropped today: 1. Blackman 11. McKenzie 2. Bradley Central 12. MTCS 3. Webb 13, Cookeville 4. Bartlett 14. Oakland 5. Coffee Co 15. South Gibson 6. Cleveland 16. White County 7. Jackson South Side 17. York Institute 8. Westview 18. Clarksville 9. Upperman 19. Greeneville 10. Ensworth 20. Trinity Christian I think the top 4 could be put in any order. I haven't seen Coffee or Cleveland. Cookeville and South Gibson probably ranked too high.
  13. These game streaming anywhere? I’d love to watch both
  14. I watched a couple Loretto games this week. If they beat USJ, I’ll be surprised. They are rebuilding. They’re not bad but they’re nowhere near their level from the last several years. That’s not a shot at them. You don’t graduate a player like Karly Weathers and think everything stays the same
  15. South Side is excellent defensively, but because of the way South Side defends - tight, physical - they are going to have nights where they are called for a lot of fouls. Will always depend on the officiating crew.
  16. I went over and watched Wayne Co/Summertown. Wayne Co is good - a lot of length, shoot it well, well coached. They have a legitimate chance to win a state title. Summertown is solid - played Wayne Co close despite foul trouble all night. Summertown should cruise to a substate game matchup with Westview or Gibson Co
  17. Mckenzie has to be the favorite. They bring back the main pieces from their state championship team last year. Savanna Davis is more than most A teams can handle. Wayne County will be really good again as well. Those are the best two teams in A. Dresden and Peabody should be good and end up in the state tournament. Moore County will be competitive as well. I haven't seen the teams from East TN mentioned in the earlier post.
  18. Pretty sure Greeneville brought their main pieces back and should be good again. Page graduated their best players and will take a step back, but they added Coach Coffman so they won't be down long. Dyer Co graduated some key pieces but will still be competitive. I heard Fayette-Ware lost their best players to transfer but I don't know that for sure.
  19. Agreed. Saw Upperman this summer. Very good team, but I would not say definitive favorite. Their post player was great, their guards were solid. South Side’s athleticism will give them trouble.
  20. Some big changes in multiple classes. A - Union City, Dresden, Gleason, Greenfield in one district. Two of those teams probably go to state tournament every year with this setup. McKenzie and Wayne County - two of the best A programs in the last couple years are in the same region but should still be favorites to go to state tournament as biggest substate challenger is probably Moore Co AA - BIG win for Huntingdon. They get away from Gibson Co and Westview. Huntingdon should win that region most years and host a substate game. Gibson Co and Westview have to deal with Peabody in district but their region is terrible. They also head back to Memphis for substate so the road is definitely easier. Loretto and Summertown will have no challengers in district or region. AAA - Lawrence County district becomes winnable but region is still all the way to Upper Cumberland. Region 6 is crazy big - all the way from Jackson South Side to Sycamore (nearly 3 hours away). Really interesting district with Dyersburg, Dyer Co, Crockett Co, Obion Co and South Gibson. They have a weak region and the only traditional substate challenger is Covington.
  21. I believe Hardin Co graduated a post player that signed with UT-Martin and a really solid PG. They also have a new coach, which usually takes a little time and adjustment. Hardin upset South Gibson last year after South Gibson's PG broke her leg. If she's healthy last year, South Gibson likely wins that game. Hardin and McNairy will probably finish 1-2 in that district but they are both a clear step or two below South Side and South Gibson.
  22. I agree with most of this. Only thing I'll add relates to South Side and South Gibson. They should play each other in the region championship, but the loser of that game likely has to go to Creek Wood for substate. That's a 3 hour drive for either one of them. I think South Side would be too athletic for Creek Wood to play with, but Creek Wood could be a problem for South Gibson, especially on the road. I saw Creek Wood this summer - they have two really good players that can get 20 each on any given night.
  23. Both South Gibson and South Side schedules are in Coach T. Both look pretty solid to me. South Gibson has home and homes with Dyersburg, Crockett County, and Gibson County; they should all be strong. They are at McCracken Co (Ky), who is usually really good. Also play a strong TCA team and are going to Christmas tournaments at White County and Florida. South Side has Gibson County, TCA, McKenzie and Covington. They also play Hewitt-Trussville (AL) and Cardinal Ritter (MO); both those teams will be good. They are going to a different Florida tournament. Talking to different coaches, the Florida tournaments are hit or miss. Some of the tournaments are strong and some are terrible.
  24. Zion Christian is no longer in the TSSAA
