  1. there are plenty of spread to run teams in college that have been successful ie: auburn ohio state app state oregon under kelly and WV under rich rod. The spread creates number advantages in the box to open up run game and it helps the passing game bc its harder to disguise coverages and it makes for easy throws for qbs who might not be the best. And a fast tempo offense would bring more kids out to play than a boring wing t offense. Also it is a lot easier to install the spread than other offenses due its simplicity there are plenty of examples of this as well. I agree that the qb this year was not a great passer but given the right coaching and ability to it could have been different. Also, the spread helps bc if your line is small it takes advantage of this and can use it to your advantage. If your line is big however it is even more hard to stop. I just feel it would greatly help the blue devil program
  2. down him? what do you mean. And why are you assuming I am a Smith County fan? He runs a solid scheme but like I said it has cost him a lot of games by him trying to run an offense he does not have the personnel for. Would be a good oc due to athletes at Leb but not head coach
  3. I wouldn't hire gentry personally. He has cost Maynard a lot games in tight moments that shouldn't have lost. Great motivator and players coach but not a head football coach. Lebanon needs a young vibrant coach to come and set the standard of winning. The only way they can achieve this is by running a wide open spread offense unlike harp did in his tenure.
  4. well we know your a Indy dad haha. They throw a lot of short quick passes and quick screens and then pump and go stuff too off that. They really have 2 run plays: inside zone and qb power. Hines is really not as good as his numbers show, but like you said Indy has a good receiving corps which makes him looks good. They put up Most of those numbers in regular season against not so good teams but in playoffs their weaknesses have been exposed but give them credit they have won. If and pure speed wise I have saw teams with a lot more speed than their receivers btw. The biggest thing Indy has for them is Blade on their side bc he is a very good coach that's experienced state before. They will have a hard time with Farragut if they get up quick but it should be a good game! Hope Indy wins to bring a ball to Wilco
  5. 100% agree with this post. What's your thoughts on the big game on Thursday?
  6. run the state? Hahaha. There's a possibility that none of the Memphis schools even win bc east isn't beating central, Marion most likely will beat Trez bc of Richardson being injured, Oakland isn't losing for sure and Lausanne hasn't played anyone that good all year like the teams Webb has played. Everyone in Memphis has this huge chip on their shoulder bc their from Memphis and it's the dumbest thing ever
  7. This is not the same Indy team as last year. Indy's whole offense is based around the screen game and fake screens and they only run one kind of running play and their defense I feel was exposed the last 2 weeks so if Farragut can see what Cane Ridge did and Brentwood did it should be a good game
  8. Appears central is a team of destiny so it's hard to think they wouldn't win so I'm gonna go with the bobcats!
  9. Key to this game will be oaklands ability to pass the ball on Whitehaven. Oakland and whitehaven can run the all at will on each other but it will be tougher than normal so the pass game will be key. One thing odd that oakland does is they run their qb back and forth every play. That's just dumb and a waste of time and energy. I mean how hard is it to signal plays or use a wristband. Other than that Oakland I think wins this by under a TD
  10. One thing I don't understand is why Maryville doesn't spread the field more they always have 3 wr and 2 backs in backfield to block. I feel they'd be more effective against the biggger fronts and dbs by spreading the field more with 4 and 5 wr sets. It kinda restricts your passing game when you only have 3 routes vs 7-8 in coverage but they have been successful with it so idk
  11. But yes I agree that there are good matchups across the board this year
  12. All you really have to do is watch the teams play and I have saw all 3 of them play and Oakland is legit as well as BA and MBA. It's not hard to figure out. If Indy struggled in a 5a game against a 5 loss team they wouldn't compete with those teams. Oakland MBA and BA are on a whole different level than everyone else in TN
  13. Basing your rankings off the paper is comical. The only 2 teams that would have a shot against BA is Oakland or MBA. Indy is very overrated as Vandy98 said previously.
  14. Want my first post in the public school boards to be a good one so here we go. Let's go ahead and get this thread ready for after the games next weekend and all the discussion around it, bc it will be interesting!
  15. After sitting back and looking at this thread the last few days with out an account I feel compelled to make one. Wildcat, you are the biggest joke of a poster that I have ever encountered on this website in my 10 years of following it. You come on here making all this strife over something someone said for what? Either you are a butthurt CPA dad or a disgruntled QB coach from BGA so what is it? You talk crap about D2AA football when everyone in the state will tell you it's the states best football league. I promise you BA or for the most part anyone in D2AA would smoke your “team". the reason BA had to play a team like A+ is the same reason a Baylor has to play Howard or how MBA had to play melrose. Bc they can only get 1 or maybe 2 quality games that aren't league games per year and most of those are out of state games. So when teams turn them down they have to play not good teams. And you really think that anyone knew that olive branch would be bad this year: no they didn't. Enlighten us on your team Wildcat who is it? This is a BA MBA thread so let's Keep it that way. Also, what exactly is the problem you have with BA I'm curious to and who do ou think is the best mid state team Is if it's not MBA or BA?
