That's a lot better then when they handed out kazoos one year at an away game.

Well one of my grand dads was democrat back when guys like Ronald Reagan were in the party.To be honest,when they run up the debt and work against each other the way they have for years in Washington.Should all "both sides' be took and and beat until they do whats right for ALL America and not just this group or that.Makes me sick to watch how that works.This was the first time after I voted that I left mad because I knew it was a cluster either way.I didn't like HC before Bill ever got elected and always thought DT was a pompous azz but he got my vote.

Not sure but If a flag is thrown and atleast one of them cry like a little girl before we know who its on ,then its possible.The best DB game that I heard this year was I believe espn and Bobby Rader was on the radio with them that night.No homer either way and when something good happened for either team is was told.

I wouldnt risk it because coach Quarles is the best coach in Tennessee high school football history and maybe football period but Tennessee would be a monster to fix unless it was Nick Saban taking control of the whole thing.However,I would vote for him if he ran for Governor .Maybe started in Maryville and done a walk across the state OH don't get me wrong,coach Quarles would be better then what we have.Shoot,there are guys living in the Knoxville zoo that would be better then we have.

Same everywhere I guess.The radio guys are no different.Now I always try and get either the other teams station or the high school radio for DB .The guys on that one DB station are such homers I can't enjoy the broadcast.Sure the refs screw up and yes some probably shouldn't be out there, but 99.9% of them are not against any one team every Friday night .Get excited about great plays but except when the other team makes them as well.

My point.TN high,ME,SC,JC and Maryville all won state titles in the highest class .Maryville has won them in about three different classes as well.Alcoa dominates 3a .DB and SH have done very well in many sports over the years including track baseball and several sports.Point being that those that say the athletes are not in East TN or even NET just can't back it up .DBs 4 x 400 won state last year and I guess that takes athletes,right.I don't know how many have played football at the next level for DB but I know several that have.There have been several go to D1 schools in the last few years.I bet Maryville doesn't hold a crazy edge over DB in players they have sent to the next level but look at what they have done in their playoff history.Bottom line is if DB beats BC this friday and then beats the winner of Maryville vs Farragut at home and another game at home before the championship game,I say it's frigging long over due because they have never played for the football title and since this thread was started, NETs Greeneville has won football state titles twice.

Not many folks talk smack before playing Maryville.The Greeneville threads are about like those commercials with the sloth drawing.You let someone upset Maryville or Greeneville and the posters would come by the thousands to throw their two cents worth .

I tell what's nice.Going into a 2nd round game and 99.99% of the fans know there is nothing to say about what the likely outcome will be.We know that coach Ballard and staff will take care of everything and if something goes wrong then it was meant to be because no other staff could have done any better.The 3rd round and going against one of the two or three teams best teams we will see in the playoffs is a different situation and those games are always who plays the best and makes the fewest mistakes.

Now, I know DB will not kick to a stud player like that unless the game is already over for the most.I know they have not forgot DY a few years ago from Bearden.Just from this,I will look for DB to try the power game and BC to try the air.No surprise but I wouldn't be shocked after the Greeneville and Farragut games if DB goes more air and BC goes mostly to the ground game.Just kidding, DB has a nice passing game but if DB is going mostly air then something is either very bad or very good for them and I don't think we will see another Farragut coached game by another team.Should be a great game to watch.Going to be a little cooler this week but that's when you want to be playing football

Yep,DB has athletes.When people talk about the Knoxville area,it sounds like they are talking about NYC or something and the athletes are something special because of what so many schools have done.A lady from New Jersey sitting next to me a few weeks ago thought we were landing in a hay field as we were landing at McGhee Tyson.Man,east TN is all beautiful and wide open space for the most.Schools like Alcoa.Maryville and all those that have brought back the gold to east TN have proven it can be done and they are not big city schools.Sevier county and Jeff county done it .Morristown East and Tn high done it.At some point,the excuses just don't cut it.

For us that have not seen your team.Can you fill us in to your key players.QB and wideouts.I mean, it's not something the DB coaches and players don't already know just as the key players for DB.DB has a very solid line and some good strong backs.A good tall QB and wideouts that can make some plays.The defense has a couple stud backers and good athletes in the defensive backfield.The strength on defense is they all go to the ball.On offense the power running game is the strength but can move it in the air as well. Very solid athletes that in my mind shouldn't have lost a game yet just based on talent alone.

Yep,there were some future D1 players on that 2012 DB team as well.Other words,those that say NET just doesn't have any talent better find another excuse.

It's possible these days but take another look at their screen name.

North always gets a few DB players and few people know it but a bunch of DB's top players thought about going over there but decided to play it out for DB.Great coach at North and had that happened, they might have won it all instead of doing better then most local NET teams.Greeneville without a question has done very well and proves with the right coaches and program,any NET team could compete on any given year.Starts with the head coach and staff around him.Add a great strength program and you can see the results.No NET other then Greeneville has ever played in 3 straight title games.Matter of fact without looking it up,very few schools in the state have ever played in 3 straight title games.Maryville and Alcoa jump out as the best ever but then it gets slim to the team's that have accomplished that.

Funny that The Knoxville area high school teams have some fine players and coaches ,then you look at the University of Tennessee located in Knoxville .They are going to spend 340 million on upgrades to Neyland stadium .I've not read the news and don't know if anything has changed today but shouldn't they first fire a coach or fire the whole lot of them and rebuild a football program that will bring back the fans and get the top players.Now if Alabama wanted to spend a billion on a new football stadium or whatever,that would be understandable for goodness sakes because they have a football program.

Reread my last post above .I'm not predicting a huge win or easy win.I think DB has the talent to move the ball on any team.A drunk with zero coaching abilities could watch film on DB and figure out how to move the ball on them but not every team has the talent that is capable or has a coach like Farragut that just didn't do it .I expect BC to move it and score and expect DB to do the same.Yes DB has had teams in the past that were beat by lesser opponents in the playoffs but I'm saying that stupidity has already been played out in earlier games this year.That is still a concern against better coached and more athletic teams and yes DB should have been even deeper and stronger if not for a few folks self interest.I think we can throw all those bad things out and write a new chapter in DB football over the next few weeks with some victories.

The only thing that worries me about DBs schedule is the quality wins they have and games that were not finished for one reason or the other .Every week the climb gets a little tougher and the other teams athletes and coaches get a little better.I really feel DB has some fine athletes and it will take a complete game each Friday night from them and the staff.The team has been pretty darn lucky about staying healthy for the most but not completely and depth still is a concern at several positions.I expect nothing less then a win this week and this week is all that matters.

You were Stars !! I watched guys make that kind of money beside me in the hay field and I got 75 dollars for working all summer on my grand dads dairy farm.Start milking before the sun came up and after it went down we finished the 2nd round each day.All the hard work was between milking time unless there was hay ,then it was hay until it was all up in the barn for ole Batman.That said,I loved working and being around my uncles.That also developed my work ethic .I still laugh when I hear people cry about their 60 or 70 hour work week.When I tell people I have more years of work service then I've been alive,at first. I could take their money in a bet, but after I explain that working two full time jobs for over half your life adds up,They understand.All that is also why I push for my kids or their friends to get their education .

BVD always does a great job on these vids.I really appreciate them since I don't get down to Greeneville for a lot of the games.

This is a new year and when fans look back after the season,it will be easy to see who done what.I expected DB to compete for a state title before this senior class left and they are still playing .So I can just support those young men and hope for them to do well.

Good thing about it,One of the two will be playing in round three in a couple weeks.I have not seen Bradley play this year and look forward to seeing them.When the smoke clears,either one of these two might be playing in the state semifinals.Farragut and Maryville will have a say in that but all four have a shot.From what I've read,all four are pretty equal as to their talent and the coaching we will see.

One thing I hated as a kid was working in a tobacco field or grading it in a cold barn.I would pick the hay field over that.Most kids today don't have a clue as to how hard farming use to be and I didn't have a clue as to how hard my grand parents had it.People talk about the good ole days but there is a reason the average life span in the 1800's was about half of what it is now.

That's right,one at a time.We will look back in a few weeks and all the talk won't matter.If my Devils or the Rebels are not still playing in the semifinal round,then somebody has backed up the talk.If both are,then I wish you guys all the best to bring back another gold ball.I look forward to seeing how your new coach does when the pressure of the playoffs build.That has always ended things for my kids school up here in K town .Not just who has the talent but who can make the plays and coaching decisions when the season is on the line.In 6A,I think the talent is up here in Kingsport but it is also down there in Maryville and several other schools.
