There were some really great games this year. All four days had some close ones and the last 2 days were especially excellent. These teams will all be better at tournament time due to the great competition. Congrats to Oak Ridge.

I like South Green in the upper bracket. The lower bracket is loaded. The OR game was a heart stopper, but I look for them to match up with West in the semi's. Any of those 3 could win it this year. This is always a strong tournament and it prepares teams well for the 2nd half of the season.

The thread is referencing TOP AA teams which I stand by as well. ALL of the other teams mentioned in this geography are AAA and having seen SG play West the way they always do, having seen Boone, OR, SH, DB and all the other AAA teams, I can say SG would be very competitive in AAA in the upper East TN Area. I agree on OR for the Knoxville area and West as the better AAA teams mentioned in this thread. We are blessed with several good teams to watch.

Morristown West

South Greene is my pick in AA. I have not seen Upperman, but have been told they are the favorite. South Greene is one of the best overall teams in the Upper East TN area. (all classifications)

Taylor Lamb- she is the best AA player I have seen in the past several years on this side of the state.

West has played good ball this year. Boone is very good - no shame in this loss for West. These 2 will definitely meet again.

7-0 and getting better each week. Go MO West.

After a great run for 4 years, the Seniors are gone. What happens now? Some good young talent in the pipeline.. but can these girls continue the strong play? I hope so. Thoughts?

Go SG! I believe that Lamb, Wyckle and company will fight their way to another gold ball. This team is as fun to watch as anybody I have seen all year. They do not fear anyone. Good luck ladies.

I haven't seen Meigs but I saw SG play several times vs strong competition. SG will win at home and contend again for the gold ball.

Mo West won another region championship last night. They have to be in the conversation.

Interesting reading - Thanks from all those of us that love the girls game. Great memories of watching some of these ladies. I hope the Lady Vols can return to glory soon. Missing those days.

East TN perspective - I have not seen many teams from Middle or West TN 1. McKinney- Fulton 17-4 Can Post up or pop out and shoot the 3. Rebounder and KY signee. With a better supporting cast Fulton would be a favorite for the gold ball. 2. Jacoby Lynn- McMinn Central 20-3 Shooter, playmaker and on the best AA team I've seen this year. Could be her year for Miss Basketball and Central's year for the gold ball.

East TN perspective. Haven't seen much Middle or West TN action but I follow all classifications and teams in the East. 1. Howard- Bradley Central 22-0 (MVP at Landair) Best player I've seen in a long time. Very deserving of Miss Basketball - Has no weaknesses and on the best team i've seen this year. 2. Sydney Newsome- Mo West - 21-2 Best player in upper east TN again this year. Deserves to be nominated and considered. Leader on a great team with only 2 losses. 3. Hughes- Bradley Central - 2nd best player on her team but 2nd best player I've seen all year playing with Howard. Great guard combo.

A- South Greene AA- McMinn Central, Upperman AAA- Riverdale, Bradley Central, Mo West, Oak Ridge

Taylor Lamb is a player that would excel on any team at any level in the state. I always enjoy watching her play. She has passion for the game and excellent skills.

South Greene is by far the best A team I have seen. They pushed some excellent AAA teams in Greeneville tournament to the limits. (Mo West, Oak Ridge) Good guards and an excellent post in Lamb. I think they will win the gold ball.

I agree. Sat with some of their fans and they were so complimentary about SG and Mo West. And they had so much respect for OR too. My opinion is that it played out right. West is a little better than SG and Bradley Central was playing at a different level than anyone else this weekend. Congrats to all and good luck the rest of the way.

Great matchups today: SG who played their hearts out last night vs OR takes on a powerful Mo West team for 3rd. OR and Bradley Central in the Championship will be entertaining as well. Great job to all the help and organizers making this one of the best girls tourneys in the South.

Final Four looks like they got it seeded correctly. Great crowds so far -especially last night for the local schools games. All 4 of these teams looked really good yesterday. Can Mo West defend the tourney title and does SG have a home court advantage? Can't wait to see!

Good pick. Mo West was the most dominant looking team in the first round. I'm not sure anyone can handle their pressure. Jeff Co put up a good fight with OR but i'm not sure anyone in the bottom bracket can beat OR. SG maybe? They should be ok today and advance. Proud of Greeneville for a close win over a good Loganville team yesterday but today will have their hands full.

Why can't Boone win this game and even the tournament? I don't count any of these teams out. Boone, SG, Mo West are all close by and should have good support. Bradley and Oak Ridge have good records but throw the records out in a tournament. The out of state teams must be pretty good also or why would they come to this tournament. There may by 7 or 8 teams good enough to win it if they get hot. I've already got my ticket and will be on the front row all 4 days.
