  1. Yes, they will eventually, like in 2021 or unless their enrollment grows by a certain percentage. But I'm almost positive they will be considered a "small school" for another year or so. I'm not the foremost expert on this so someone else, like maybe Coach Peck, could help us out.
  2. Attn: ALL A-AA Wrestling Coaches, This is your "heads up and fair warning!!!" Coach Peck and Coach Derrick are gonna be coming for y'all with all they got for the next SEVERAL years. Nolensville just beat a pretty good Forrest team and has arrived a year earlier than most people anticipated. Fairview is a very good team team as well and both have youth programs that will be bringing additional reinforcements. The good news is you're only gonna have to deal with Coach Peck for a few more years. Can't say the same for Bubba's boys!
  3. I wouldn't give it to em yet. There's probably a couple of teams in Green and Greene that's gonna give them ALL they want. I also wouldn't sleep on Nolensville, Fairview or Hixson either.
  4. Some of these freshmen may have been injured until very recently or stuck behind upperclassmen at their respective schools when they would have started at most schools in the state. Hypothetical example- Tre Bates(#1 freshman) is one year older and is stuck behind Horst at 106 and Palmer at 113. No where for him to wrestle unless it's an exhibition match. Real life example- Cael Laxton (STUD) is stuck behind Matthews and Sweeney at Cleveland and can't break the lineup until Sweeney gets injured a month ago. If Sweeney isn't injured, should we just forget about Laxton and say "sorry Cael, you're not starting at the best wrestling program in the state this year so you are NOT a top 40 freshman!" Absolutely not, at least IMO!
  5. Mason Smith from Beech is another kid who hasn't wrestled much, if any, this season for whatever reason, but I def think he is a top 40 freshman in the state whenever he returns to action.
  6. I know he hasn't wrestled a lot this season but I would think Stamper from Heritage should be on the top 40 list somewhere, especially considering he beat two of the kids on this list in the same day last year on his way to a MS state championship.
  7. Noticed that Shuffler didn't wrestle for Greeneville and Tanner Lynch didn't wrestle for Greenbrier. Pretty sure both of them would have had an impact on team points as well. Hope both of those guys are back next week and I'm sure their coaches and fans feel the same way.
  8. IF Poole is not able to wrestle, then YES, it absolutely changes my prediction. The prediction was made thinking he would be in the PF lineup scoring 6. I think the score would have been almost as close as the "PRETEND" match earlier in the year. However, IF Poole is unable to wrestle, I'm gonna have to go with Gibbs. Unless I've been missing something, losing him is most likely a 12 pt swing the other way with PF's lack of depth at the smaller weights. Good Luck and Hopefully Good Health to Both Teams!
  9. A/AA State Tournament PREDICTIONS Region 1: Greeneville- already in, did you expect anyone else to overtake them? Region 2: Pigeon Forge- sorry hrdcrwrestler, just "think" ya'll lose a close one when y'all both wrestle everyone. PF/ Gibbs loser forced to stay home while being one of the best small schools in the state. Region 3: Alcoa- Gossett finally has to quit sandbagging and is forced to show his hand when he comes to Franklin after easily winning a very weak region outside of his team. Region 4: Hixson- Runaway winner, no competition in their region, don't underestimate them in Franklin Region 5: Signal Mtn beats out Red Bank. Region 6: Nolensville over Forrest in a rubber match. My LEAST confident pick Region 7: Greenbrier over Cheatham County/ White House. Cubs and Blue Devils gonna be chasin' the Bobcats again. Region 8: Fairview- no one here has anything for Bubba's boys. Coach Woods Harpeth team has the horses, just not enough of them!
  10. What you talkin about Willis?
  11. Laxton is a STUD freshman who would be the starter for 99% of the teams in this state! Foose, you may be trying to be humble, but WAY more than "a solid fill in", even for Cleveland!
  12. I "blindly" trust you. Wish we had a Matrix to verify.
  13. I "blindly" trust you. Wish we had a matrix to verify.
  14. Isbell going to 113? Also don't believe Hulsey will be back.
  15. You know "The Big Buccaneer" don't tell KG all his secrets. He plans on seeing them next month.
  16. Cleveland is DEF the FAVORITE to win the State Tournament. Some people are either too blind to see, too ignorant to know the truth if it busted them in the mouth, just trying to get under Fooseball's skin, or a combination of all 3.
  17. Twofdr, I saw your reply while I was typing. That's why I start the post with "KG", which is short for KingGreene, not twofer. LOL
  18. KG, may wanna look at the 120 bracket a lil closer. Think the #1 seed has a different name than most everyone expected except ol HammBone.
  19. I gotta feeling we will see Reiniche win 160 without ever breaking a sweat, UNLESS he wants to get in a little conditioning on a Saturday afternoon!
  20. There are several big tournaments this weekend where we will have the opportunity to see some really good kids wrestle each other. There will also be some kids wrestling at weights they weren't allowed to before Christmas break bc of their decention plan. That being said, Hamm will probably have several adjustments to make to his next set of rankings. I do think Cannon is DEF one of the best few kids in the State at 120, however I think it will be a victory for him if he keeps it to a minor in the "120 LB finals"! Just my opinion.
  21. I'm with you HammBone!!! Think the ole Memphis Tiger may just be A "LITTLE SUPRISED" !
  22. Anybody wanna take a stab at who's finishing 2nd and 3rd in the team standings on Sat evening?
  23. I think you're probably right picking Baylor to be the FAVORITE. They have several wrestlers who will be on the podium and a handful will be at/very near the top. Also, I would not be surprised to see a few kids wrestling at weights they haven't wrestled this season, especially the lower weight classes. I think Beech has a very good chance to place very high as well. Even with all the injuries Coach Roberts squad has faced, he still has a handful of wrestlers who will rack up boatloads of points in any individual tournament they wrestle in.
