  1. You know i want the Rams to win, but the word of the day for this Friday evening is going to be "ouch!" It's gonna hurt.
  2. I'm going with the Golden Domes in this Pope vs the Kentuckians in the Corbin Pigskin Classic. Why is this game being played on a Saturday night and so late. Is it a 8:45 kickoff? Is this going to be aired on the ESPN Ocho?
  3. This should be a great game. Two communities who come out and wholeheartedly back their teams. I'm going with Meigs in a close one...Wait never count out a team that's hurt and mad and wanted vindication, maybe the Kees? No staying with the Tigers.
  4. To all GCA fans or anyone attending the game without affiliation, a request has been made by GCA that all attendees wear black and gold colors (Stone Memorials colors) in rememberance of one of their football players who died in an ATV wreck. Keep the family, the team and the whole school in your thoughts and prayers.
  5. Gametime is 7:30 EST or 6:30 CST at Stone Memorial High School and will be streamed on Diamond Clear media
  6. He did but had another shoulder surgery from baseball and was medically redshirted. He's playing football at Maryville College after he transferred. We will be down in Boogerville Saturday watching them scrimmage Birmingham Southern at Chattanooga Baylor.
  7. I still keep up with them and will go to all home games and as many away as I can. I am more concentrated on watching mine playing on Saturdays and his team now, but when that's over then I'll focus more on HS ball. Gotta love the Friday night lights
  8. I think this years' team will stack up fine on the defensive side of the ball. The offensive side looks good but is young in spots. The QB this year is no joke. Smart, talented and carries good size. The key I think this year is to swarm to the ball on defense, be 2 dimensional on offense and stay healthy. Attrition has and will play an important role this season. GCA is a good, young team. They have some stud young players who will contribute when their names are called. Give them time and don't count them out.
  9. Barney, they have of course had some "scrimmages" (passing only) but I haven't heard of full contact scrimmage yet. I will post it if I find out
  10. Pulling for Booger big time! Hey Chainsaw2, beat ya to the punch
  11. I will not speculate on CRB. I will support him as I supported McKamey. Just like our president, you can like him or hate him, but he's still OUR POTUS. Same as a coach, not going to say I applaud every play call, but until he decides to move on, he's our coach and I will support him. IMO, (this is not aimed at GCA, but Div2 football as a whole),I think that a problem with being in TSSAA Div2 is that there sometimes is a lack of ownership in the program and a lack of pride in the program for kids who come sliding into Div2 programs from D1 or other D2 schools. There a lifers or long time players who only want to play for their school, always have and always will. With that being said, there are also players who see good things and jump here and there to try to get the best team or playing time and they don't have the investment and ownership in a program that lifers do. I have seen this cycle play out for years. Like it or not, teams like Greenback that we played have kids from K-5 on who's only desire is to someday wear the orange and black and play for their HS and nowhere else. That is what I feel is lacking in ALL D2 football to some extent. I played for a bad 5A school in my day, but I didn't want to play anywhere else, it was MY team. This is not a "jab" at GCA or any school, my son graduated and this doesn't affect me or my son in any way. I just see this as a cycle and a fundamental problem for D2 that will continue. My opinion only.
  12. GCA baseball:2015 Div I Class A State Champs baby!!
  13. Wouldn't have changed anything. IF they got to the World Series, they'd just get them ripped out by the Red Sox! Go Sox
  14. Lucky for me, I've never been accused of thinking too much or coherently. What am I doing? Where am I at? I don't remember eating that! So on and so forth
  15. Yeah I agree. Gotta start hitting the gym and get these pythons hard again.
  16. Pride told me that's our first cousins sister, so we're good. I didn't have the heart to tell him it made no difference.
  17. No sir, no sir. We're not champions, not in football though. We just like trying to hang with the powerhouses (Alcoa, Greenback) if we can. I'm just a spectator now. We were just a small part of your state championship last year. 13-1 and we were the 1. In all seriousness, last years players were glad to see you guys win because of the battle during the regular season. If you'd ask them this year, I think most of them hope you guys repeat because of the history between the schools.
  18. I'm Prides step brother. Raiseemupandpray is our distant cousin
  19. I'm just looking for a good game with no injuries given the rash of injuries in HS and college football this weekend. I want to see GCA cut down on the penalties though. There were so many in HV game, I felt like a Greenback fan. I took number of penalties, multiplied by 2, heckled the closest referee (line judge) and tweeted it out to PrepXtra and ESPN. It was trending on Saturday until the news of UT scoring 2 offensive TDs took over.
  20. I'll take the Boogerites from the Clover Clan in a nail biter. NB by 31 pts. Nail biter because someone is gonna be bored.
  21. I think that probably looks like Chainsaw2
  22. GB by 23 pts. 3 TDs and a safety better than Coalfield
  23. Pulling for GCA big time!
  24. Booger and all his parish of Boogerites would fit in good at GCA. Only problem is he'd be too close to Catholic North and would probably cause problems. When it was mentioned to him about possibly joining the herd, he said only if he could bring his "Touchdown Jesus" and gold dome with him. We are going to talk about it at our next snake wrangling service.
  25. Well Kees played great game and deserve the win and bragging rights until 2050 or whenever we play again. Use that wool you took from us to make you a warm coat. You’ll need it in Cookeville in December
