  1. Well, did you know that Jim1972 is really Ravens' pseudo name. OnB and Pride are second cousins and shop at the same sweater vest store. RaiseEmUpRightandPray and Lady Kee dated in middle school. Uknoit2 and Pujo have been photographed sneaking into the Jerry Disney Sports Complex and bowing down to the graven Ram statue. The list goes on and on.
  2. I prefer the Joe Dirt version.......DAAAANG!! They have a 8 ball Hurst shifter for a "69 Cuda!
  3. I hope we don't have to pull Ole Jim off of the golden Ram statue after the game.
  4. I wasn't aware the British were so fond of you. I'm sure Queen Elizabeth is a huge fan
  5. I'm starting to think Ole Jim isn't from Loudon County at all. Something tells me he might live on the banks of the Doe River next to the Hampton Trout Farm. I've always heard the best pot stirring is in Carter County.
  6. When things get quiet, Old Jimbo gets it fired up again. Sorry you had to jump back on and start it going again. I'm sure you were watching HS VHS tapes of JV games that you got in midway of the 3rd quarter. Know the difference in YOUR(possessive) and YOU'RE(contraction). Whimper not wimper
  7. Webb have a stable of athletes over there and played a great game. They played with class and were well coached. They are fast. ND needs to win the clock battle. If they do, then it'll be a great game to watch. I feel they matchup pretty evenly. I know that Jahlil and Elijah have gotten a lot of press, and they should, they are phenomenal athletes. They are fast. I knew Ernst was a good LB, but I had no idea that he could run the ball so well. He was a great player and classy. They were fast. He complimented my son on his play and that shows respect and maturity. Glad he will be playing at USMA and serving our country. Oh did I mention.....They were fast
  8. Oh he's just trying to get a GCA/ND thread going 3 weeks ahead of schedule.
  9. You'll never get back to the Promised Land (East Tennessee) if you stop every 5 minutes and reply to everything on the T. If you're typing while driving through the gorge then I'd like to see that!!
  10. OK Big Jim and the Twins, first off it's their mouths, not there mouths. Secondly, let's not refer to our GCA players (15-18 year olds) as punks. If that was posted by a GCA poster, then the whole Eastern band of the Cherokee nation would be sharpening their tomahawks and a war cry would be heard all across the Qualla Boundary. GCA players have said things in the past as have GB players, it isn't breaking news. It doesn't make it right. So build a bridge and get over it. They're kids. Keep it civil, it's good nature bantering OR the other choice is try to start World War 3 because you are still butt hurt about World War 2.
  11. First things first, when I ask this I'm not being a smart aleck. This is purely a interrogative post. Is there off field activities/ social media concerns that need to be addressed? If so it would really be good to know. Remember we are talking about 15-18 year old boys who don't always have the best judgement. All schools deal with this. If our boys aren't behaving them we as supporters/parents would like to be enlightened
  12. I'm keeping out of all this banter. I hope for the life of me that the poor ole long snapper doesn't have a bad snap and a muffed punt again while GCA is up that turns into the famed "fake punt" heard 'round the world. Poor kid that did that 6-7 years ago still isn't allowed in that corner of Loudon County.
  13. Now now little Jimmy, no one likes a 45 year old sniveling baby. Breathe in through your nose and out your mouth. Take your meds and log back in when you aren't so deranged. This is about High School football and good natured fun between friendly posters. If you're only going to bash people and schools on here, then I'd suggest a different use of your time. I realize Greenback posters that this isn't a representation of you're fans. Looking forward to a good game. Ok now Jimbo, you can start your tirade again.
  14. Too many variables. I wont predict a specific score. I will say I feel it will be much closer than some people might expect. Webb is super talented, very quick with great players and are a proven perennial powerhouse. With that being said, GCA has the potential to play to that level. They have been conditioned and coached since Spring, by what I think is the best coaching staff in Tennessee. It's up to the guys strapping it on Friday to determine which team will be victorious. It all comes down to the old cliché of which team is the hungriest and wants the district win the most. Looks like good weather and hopefully pray for NO injuries this game for both teams. Good luck to the Spartans. GO RAMS
  15. As you already know the answer, but the way to slow Elijah and Jahlil is to play tight coverage when they go wide, not allowing play in space in defensive backfield and in the Wing T to set the edge on run plays (jet sweeps and rockets) and keep containment by good DE play and force them to run between the tackles. IF that is accomplished, then that should slow the speedsters a little. I really feel this will be a close game.
  16. I didn't want to have too much information floating around (previous posts), but since its on here now, this is the big boost to team eluded to earlier in this thread. Big time player back in the line-up. This will help the Rams immensely on both sides of the ball.
  17. No one player specifically. Hopefully you will have to stop 11 on offense and 11 on defense. If you do that, you win.
  18. No anticipation of completely shutting down Webb's high octane offense. GCA running a variation of your offense for years only helps. Just confident GCA can hang with the Spartans for 48 minutes if they play team ball and eliminate unnecessary penalties. Like I said previously, I think it'll be a good game.
  19. No, I wouldn't say big. I think this will be a fairly close game. It's going to be worth the price of admission. GCA loves being the underdogs. GCA will be at full strength getting back key players that missed a few games. Rams will also have a extra week to heal. Webb will be a very tough, fast opponent but the Rams will hopefully give them trouble for 48 minutes. Prayers going up to Webb's safety. Haven't heard anything but hope he is doing well. Hope both teams have a injury- free contest Friday. Go Rams
  20. I wasn't looking at the local weather forecast for K-Town. I was consulting my weather rock I bought in Gatlinburg. It hasn't been wrong yet. If the rock is white-chance of snow, if the rock is wet-chance of rain and if the rock has blown away- chance of strong winds.
  21. NEVER trust an animal that has been beaten, you never know what they'll do. Both teams have been beaten twice this year and who knows which team is going to respond and explode. I have a hunch though. I hope it is the Rams who come out and play with the intensity and fire that they are capable of. It's district time and when the white hat blows that whistle Friday night, I KNOW the Rams will be ready to play. It isn't on the coaches at this point but on the players to see which team is the most hungry for a win. I don't know a lot about Boyds except from the film I saw, but this will come down to which team is willing to put all things aside and play as a team, giving their best individual efforts for the benefit of the team. Pray for an injury free contest. Go Rams! Safe travels Friday for Boyds and speedy recovery for the injured of both Boyd Buchanan and GCA. BTW Friday forecast is now for rain early Friday but clearing with a possibility of a passing shower/thunderstorm in the pm. Winds at 10-15 mph steady.
  22. Preach it Pride, I say true dat to that. TKA will be a formidable foe on Friday night. Good team with talented players and coaching staff. This game will be worth the price of admission. I pray both teams end contest injury free and satisfied with their efforts. That's all you can ask for as a team. Go Rams
  23. In all seriousness, Alcoa fans, we do have nice facilities but we don't have a lot of seating for either side, home or away teams. I would suggest getting there early to get a seat. We have a hill on the south endzone that is good if you set on a blanket or bring chairs and sit at the top. One day away, good luck to both teams and pray both end the game with no major injuries. I hope Alcoa fans have safe travels to the Jerry Disney Sports Complex.
  24. Reality already set in on March 29, 2017 when the GCA Rams got a new shepherd with Rusty Bradley. Rusty and the boys are prepared for the season and have their hands full with a brutal schedule. They have some big fish to fry before October 13th when the Irish clans invade the GCA paddock. This thread reminds me of the old Irish saying: A quarrel is like buttermilk: once it's out o' the churn, the more you shake it, the more sour it grows. I gonna keep my milk in the churn until the week of October 13th.
