Took one on the chin tonight at McMinn. I saw that you guys lost a close one at Polk, that district will be interesting.

Polk can be tough at home. Meigs played them early in the season before some of the football players were folly back, they come to Meigs in a couple weeks. Meigs will have a tough game next week against McMinn. I’m like you I hope everyone can stay healthy and finish the season. I have a daughter that plays and I enjoy watching the kids play and definitely don’t want to see the season cut short. Good luck to you guys.

I guess that explains why the paper said they didn’t win a game in 2020

I watched the first half of the Howard game. Tyner started slow but came back to even things up at the half. The McCallie game Tyner got behind and I thought the game was over but Tyner showed a lot of hart and came back. I think Tyner is the favorite but there should be some good games especially if the same Meigs team that took McMinn to OT shows up, but that’s the question witch team shows up.

They were very good last night. The only thing they have messing is size, they would struggle against teams like Bearden that have size and that are just as athletic. But definitely the best team in the Chattanooga area, but I did see where they only beat a not very good Boyd Buchanan team by 10. The Meigs team that won it a couple years ago that had 6 college players on it and a couple Baylor and East Hamilton teams that’s played in BOP would give them a run for their money.

The best team I’ve seen this year, and that includes Bradley. Speed, ball handling girls that can shoot it from anywhere on the floor. I would say they hit 15 threes last night and most from NBA range.

I was wondering why the game was so close when Cleveland played Rhea. The post said Cleveland had two starters and the head coach was out. And I replied I knew something had to happen.

I agree they play hard and should get better with more experience, players and coaches, but the great size comment is a little confusing. The two starting sophomore posts have good size both around 5.9 maybe 5.10 which has been about the average size post players we have played against this year. One is fast and athletic the other is strong, but we have 5 guards that play that are 5.4 to 5.5 so I would say we are under sized and I think that has been one of the biggest problems against teams that have good rebounding guards we struggle to keep them off the boards and in the games we have lost we got killed on the boards, but those things can be fixed by playing fundamental basketball and boxing out.

I knew something had to happen. I will really be surprised if it’s not Bradley and Cleveland

Cleveland will beat WV and Ooltewah by 20 Meigs just beat Ooltewah by 35 this week and could have won by 50 if they wanted to. Bradley and Cleveland are the best two teams in that district, McMinn could sneak up on Cleveland but I would be shocked if they lose to any other team in the district besides Bradley.

A few surprises for me so far Meigs over Tellico and Sweetwater over Kingston. As of Christmas break. McMinn Central 2-0 Meigs Co 2-0 Sweetwater 2-0 Tellico 0-2 Kingston 0-2 Loudon 0-2

I thought Beardon would win it last year. But there’s several good teams that can compete with Beardon this year. Cookeville, Bradley, Coffee Co to just name a few.

Cleveland would be at the 2 spot. McMinn has a decent team the other 3 teams in the district are really bad.

Man that’s a tough district White Co Livingston and Upperman

I know this of topic but how good is Livingston Academy? Meigs beat them by 52 points, I know this Meigs team is pretty good this year but I was really surprised by the score 87-35

That’s hard to believe in a high school game and conceding that they beat them 80-30 first time.

I agree 100% Look at the PG for Meigs the last few years Jacelyn Stone probably 5.4 but controlled the game with a great basketball IQ and skills now starting and playing great at the next level. McMinn central has some of those type of players this year as well.

It makes me nervous seeing all the college games being canceled or postponed. They might use the same format as last year and have the highest seed host in the region.

Yes Polk beat Meigs early in the season and they come to Meigs in a couple weeks. Polk might have the best player in the region, I can’t remember he’s name but the kid can play. I think there’s several teams that could win the region this year just depends on who’s hot at the time.

Beardon is loaded, definitely a favorite in 4A

Brainerd is in Chattanooga but they are really down this. Alcoa is in the Knoxville and they are a pretty good team. McMinn Central beat them by 9.

I was told the district 3 and region tournament was at Meigs this year not sure if that’s correct or not.

I asked the question on another third, how good was Tyner this year, I guess pretty good. I think there will be some good games in the region tournament this year. Meigs has a good team this year, they played a really good Fulton team last night and lost in a close one. I saw where McMinn Center beat McMinn County last night and Sweetwater has a solid team as well.

Meigs looked really good tonight again a good Fulton team losing a close one 74-67. This team could make some noise come tournament time.
