I wonder if there is a list of the top 1a teams all time winning percentages. Would love to know who the all-time leader is?

Thank you. We don't get to play nearly enough solid teams like Cornersville. You'll love the atmosphere at Paul Ward stadium. Been some great battles waged there in the past. Looking forward to our game becoming another in the list of traditional battles fought there.

We're getting a little bored across the river here in Mustang land. We go to Wayne Co this week which is always a lot of fun. Love their fans. They've treated us pretty nice off the field. Hopefully we can get a win at their place. We're on pace to even the series next year. Cornersville can't get here soon enough. We've got Perry Co and Middleton last two games. Y'all will like our place when you come to visit. We'll treat you nice off the field. Our facilities are among the best in the state and we're very proud of them. We're looking forward to matching up with you guys. We very much respect the type game y'all bring!

I'm an old Huntingdon fan and I've learned my lesson many times over the years. Take them one game at a time, hope for the best and don't expect nothing. What goes round comes round. Every dog has his day. Just hope it ain't no Bulldog!

Huntingdon lost the game because they fumbled on the goal line at end of game. That's a no no! Great teams score in that situation!

I don't think Peabody was over rated. Their as talented as anyone in 2a. Main problem was everybody talking how the Tide was 2 or 3 touchdowns better than the nearest competition. You keep hearing that crap and you lose your edge. Same thing happened to my Mustangs last season. Your lucky it happened to you in the regular season rather than the play-offs like it happened to Huntingdon.

Coach Swenson is giving #9 about half the carries he's given is last 4 or 5 QBs . I don't know if his philosophy has changed to keep his QB healthy for the play-offs or what. If he'd had the carries of previous QBs no telling what his stats would be. Maybe it's because he's such a violent runner. He reminds me a little of Bobby Hayes. Both have the speed to run around you but would rather run over you!

#9 is " you ain't gonna catch me fast". #8 runs like a scalded dog. #7 is so quick you'll tear an ACL trying to catch him. Only thing I'm concerned with is how fast their moving when they cross that goal line !

Winning 1a is a tough chore. May be tougher to win 1a than 2a!

Well coached and deep. Starting RB out last night with stomach virus. Back-up #8 Willis ran for 175 yds on 4 carries. We got some fast kids!

Maybe Cornersville is super tough. I also know somebody else that's gonna repeat!

Gibson Co football is starting to be fun and competitive. That's healthy for everyone. With Trinity leaving you may have some Mustangs to deal with next season as Huntingdons enrollment nears 400! I got a feeling the Huntingdon administration is wanting to move up though I don't agree.

Dang Purp we agree on something. It's tough having that monkey on your back. It's a lot easier to get up having a chip on your shoulder than a monkey on your back.

Whoa now I haven't said anything bad about Cornersville field . In fact I liked their field. Very well manicured with good footing when we played. Liked the stands close to the field. I want to be close enough to smell the action. Field didn't cost Huntingdon the game last season. Waverly can do better!

For a top notch 2a program your visitor bleachers are awful unless you improved them from last year. It is what it is. Y'all can do better than that

Huntingdon is a football town plain and simple. Since we started playing football in the 1930's we've pretty much always been good. Our all time winning percentage I'm sure is close to 70 percent. No telling how many 10 win seasons we've had. We used to dominate the old Volunteer conference back in the day. I'm an old guy played in the 60's. Our record from 1960 thru 1969 was 84-14-4. We had to play for years as about the smallest 2a team in the state playoffs which probably cost us some gold balls. We've got great facilities because we've earned them and we have tremendous community support. Respect is not something given its earned. We've earned ours .

Man I feel asleep before Averlys big hit. I'm still fired up about it!

Ain't nothing wrong with those goal posts that ain't wrong with most of us. They're just to short. Need some extensions on them. You're ag boys could do that and be a part of grandpas history!

Milan played well tonight. The Bulldogs are fast and talented. Lot better team than 2-4. Mustangs were able to get the edge for good yardage all night. Running up the gut was tough against the Dogs tonight. # 9 is a big time QB. When you need it he will get it. That touchdown pass he threw that was called back was a thing of beauty. And that hit #61 put on the Milan running back was about as Classic a linebacker hit as you'll see. Good tough ballgame. Kinda game that makes both teams better.

I dang sure ain't forgetting about Cornersville. Y'all got my utmost respect. Y'all hit so hard last year I felt bruised sitting on the 2nd row. Y'all are my kinda team. We had a great game last going down to the wire. Hopefully we get to have Huntingdon vs Cornersville 2 later on the Majic Carpet.

Your right. Players this day and time are much more ready to play at a younger age than in the Paul Ward days. Starting younger with good weight programs makes a big difference and kids are just bigger now. A 240 lb player was a monster in my days.

As I've heard Coach Ward say many times. For ever sophomore you start is a game you lost !

2012 beat us 30-24 regular season. Mustangs went on to beat West Carroll 37-6 in play-offs before losing to Gordonsville 21-20 in championship game.

Man don't talk that crap. Mustangs are young and haven't proved anything yet. Shoot Greenback ought to be called Green Bay for all the talent y'all got!
