Grandson is 3rd grader at Trinity. I'm recruiting him big time to come to Huntingdon. Offering all kind of under the table incentives. Afraid it's not working. He loves Trinity!

When H. I. S. Henry I. Siegel closed it really hurt Bruceton. It's basically a commuter community now. Always got some very good players just not enough of them.

Enrollment I guess is what really matters. Huntingdon at 330 is a bigger A school. Dresden at 362 is largest school of note. Cornersville at 321 is right with Huntingdon. Coalfield, Greenback, South Pitt and Lake Co are the over achievers with enrollments in the low 200's.

One of the best games I've seen in the last decade is the middle school matchup between Huntingdons and Peabodys junior classes. Peabody won in a bunch of over times. Great game with an enormous amount of talent on the field. Seems like Peabodys tailback drove up in a Buick!

The 4000 is a little misleading. About 3700 with a school district that doesn't cover a lot of area. There are 5 high schools in Carroll Co.

Huntingdon has no more talent than any other town of less than 4000 folks. We just develop it better than most places. Our kids are ready to go as soon as they drop their diapers. We start them in 3rd grade and they are well coached up to high school. They build a bond with their team mates that's hard to break. It's really a total community effort. Huntingdon is a football town plain and simple.

I haven't heard. Hate it we good little JV bunch.

Huntingdon and Waverly JV teams play tonight at Huntingdon. Should be entertaining.

I can remember when this game was one of the top match ups in West Tennessee. Bruceton had our number from the late 1980's until about 2001. Some great Tiger teams through those years.

Mustangs gained a lot of yards running 32 belly back in the ole straight T days.

You better be careful. Them Mustangs stampede down hwy 70 every day.

They used to run out of food before half every time my Mustangs came to town. Food is good though.

Wish y'all was playing on Thursday night this week. Would be a huge gate!

Huntingdon scrimmaged Covington pre-season. Pretty even scrimmage. Coving tons defense very active and athletic. Especially their linebackers. Couple small very fast RB's, good QB. Looked to be well coached. Good looking team.

Let up ? Man I didn't take a deep breath till about 2 min left. If we had let up just a little Waverly would have caught us. I think stopping Waverly on their first series kinda put them in shock for most of the 1st quarter. Mustangs went up 21-0 before you could blink before Waverly settled down. Even game from then on. You put up 42 points on the Mustang defense you got my respect. Mustangs are a deep 1a team. We substituted a lot. You better have some depth when you play the Tigers passing game. Seemed like the game lasted all night.

Our 4 non-region opponents are Waverly, Camden, Milan, and Mckenzie. The fans deserve to see good teams play. Y'all getting sleepy by halftime most games!

We have never put academics ahead of athletics in Mustang land. We were born to be football players not scientists!

Cornersville is good. How good we don't know because y'all play such a cupcake schedule. Get out of your comfort zone and play somebody. Your fans deserve better! Huntingdon if we make it will be Yalls first game to have to get up for.

Our junior class is special. They love to play and they love each other. They will be a tough out!

Huntingdons passing game was the difference in the ball game. Receivers were wild open all night on the play action pass and Ensley did a great job of getting the ball to them under pressure. Dang that clock was moving slow with all the passing. I couldn't take a deep breath until bout 2 min left.

I don't want to hear it. We need to keep that chip on our shoulder!

I was wrong about turnovers deciding the game . Neither team turned it over!
