  1. He did not wrestle and I don’t think they have any plans on dropping him down to 138.
  2. Cleveland 50 Bradley 18 Bradley won 113, 138, 170, 182,
  3. It was posted here that is correct. Who is upset???
  4. I am not sure exactly what kind of conversation this post is intended to start. I would say that we are fortunate to have them as I know some states are struggling to fill these spots. It is a tough job and they sure don’t do it for the glory or the money.
  5. I can’t answer why they chose not to go to the Ironman. I do know that was the original plan though. It worked out regardless.
  6. 138 Deselle dec Lipsey 160 Symbroski from Cleveland knocks off returning state champion Parton from Pigeon Forge and the kid from Father Ryan and still unranked. Hmmmmm.
  7. I believe the score in the finals was Cleveland 53 Woodland 14 Cleveland lost 160 by pin, 170 tech fall, and 220 by decision.
  8. You will not get to see that match up as Ellison will be at the Ironman.
  9. Davis and Ellison are the two that are going this weekend.
  10. Cleveland, Bradley, Woodland, Ga. , Gilmer, Ga. Summit, Rossview, Arlington, Blackman, Cleveland JV, Father Ryan.
  11. I believe they are only sending a few kids like 2 or 3. The majority of the starters will be at the Cleveland duals.
  12. It’s really pretty simple. You can only compete against the guys that showed up and weighed in on that day. Injuries happen its part of the sport. Baylor forfeited 113 Cleveland forfeited 160. Different issues but the same root cause. It not being on the schedule has zero impact on the result.
  13. I can’t answer the first question. Corday who is normally the 113 had shoulder surgery in the off season and with his commitment to Army I don’t know if he will wrestle this season at all. That is second hand knowledge so not sure about the accuracy of that information. He was there at the dual but not in the line up.
  14. They were really solid from 152-220. Probably the best group of middle and larger weights either Cleveland or Baylor will see this year. The lower weights cost them the dual against both teams.
  15. At the Lake Norman Duals Cleveland 33 Baylor 31 Dual came down to the last match at 138 Randall got the pin to win it. It was a great match.
  16. I didn’t see the end of the last match but it was Baylor 43 Bradley 24 through 13 weights. At 145 Belcher vs Dendy was entertaining with Belcher winning 3-1 in overtime.
  17. So in a very early season match up they will wrestle tonight. Thoughts on this match? Can Bradley keep it close with the lower weights?
  18. Then maybe his descent plan didn’t allow him to be at 195 yet. Short of that I have no idea why he didn’t wrestle Boyd.
  19. Nope I think he plays football for Maryville.
  20. So I went to the Cleveland match on Wednesday. The only match they lost was 145 and that was due to a forfeit all three times. Maryville, Jefferson County, and Howard were the opponents. The kid at 160 was impressive for a freshman at a big weight. The transfer at 182 from Texas is going to be a contender come February. He beat #4 from Maryville 9-2 I think. I am going to Bradley vs Baylor on Tuesday to watch the dual. Early season doesn’t mean a lot as obviously weights will change and there will be line up adjustments.
  21. It was Hurst over Noland 7-4. Landers over Valdez 2-1 Lundy won 11-4 I think. The two kids that looked the best probably Palmer and Castillo. Both dominated there matches.
  22. He has to be the favorite at 138 this year.
  23. I would be stunned if Belcher is at 138 this year. I think he will move up maybe as big as 152 but no less than 145.
  24. They do have a transfer that was a state medalist from Texas. I think he will be at 195 but that’s just speculation on my part.
  25. Cleveland graduated McDaniel (1st), Bradford (1st), C. Laxton (3rd),and loses Chittum (1st) plus Gray at 195. That’s a lot of points to replace, however they do return 3 medalist A. Laxton (2nd), Randall (2nd), Ellison (2nd), and returning champs Fowler, Boyd, Davis. Based on what is returning they have to be the favorite I think. Everyone else is chasing and Wilson Central and Bradley return some talent also. Can Summit improve on last year’s improvements? I think they are headed the right direction and how long until they are in the contender category. Could be this year?
