  1. Yes Springfield’s got several skill players on offense. #’s 9, 20, 21, 15 and of course the QB #5 just to name the ones that’ll carry the load. They have rotated several guys in at different times for different looks. Most of them play both ways, rotating in and out on defense as well. The QB does a really good job in selling the fake on option plays. He’s thrown the ball decent the past few games and has been more patient in the pass game not making bad reads. He’s been getting better and better every week running the offense, this being his first year starting at QB.
  2. Exactly. They just need to keep playing like they have been and it’ll be fine.
  3. That’s what I was wondering if they’d played a secondary as fast as ours and if they’d played against an aggressive pass rush. I agree, going to be a great game with two very good ball teams.
  4. Yeah, I forgot about him. I do think Hardin county’s QB is a more seasoned passer. Can’t give him time, or he'll pick you apart. How’s Hardin County’s run game? I know they can’t rely purely on the passing game to win.
  5. Yes lots of pressure from all angles. We really got good penetration in the passing game and run game from our DL and LB’s last night. They’ve done that really good for the past 6-7 weeks.
  6. It’s going to be interesting to see how the jackets handle a pure passing quarterback. He’s the only one we’ve played against all year. The DB’s and DL have had great success with passing offenses so far, but Hardin County’s will be the toughest test yet. Our Defenses is playing phenomenal right now and the offense is hitting their stride. It’ll be a great quarter final game in Springfield.
  7. Should be 24-7 had a TD called back on a bad call
  8. I see the Jackets as being a 7-8 point favorite. I don’t see either team scoring more than 21 points.
  9. I’m sure, if it is true, it probably was an isolated incident. Not reflective of the majority of the Lexington faithful. I’m sure we’ve got a fan or two that like to bump their gums from time to time too.
  10. Like Jacketlover said, Creekwood’s main strength on O is the ground game. #11 is a very good, hard running, RB that doesn’t usually go down after first contact. He’s got a motor that doesn’t quit. Their passing game is decent if the QB has time. If you pressure him he will make poor decisions, Springfield picked him off 3 times and probably sacked him 4-5 times. Their D is solid. They defend against the run well and contain the edge decent. Springfield only passed on them 3-4 times and got picked one of those, so I didn’t get to see much of that side. This game may very well come down to a special teams play, one way or another.
  11. I will be interested to see what the Jacket’s OC dials up for this game. They came out slinging it against SS, and they haven’t really done that in the last 4-5 games. It’s been fun watching the different looks on offense on a week to week basis. Looking forward to more wrinkles this week.
  12. Who’s? Hardin county’s or Creekwood’s?
  13. I remember their TE from a couple years ago, he’s a good player. Creekwood has got a TE about the same size, although not quiet as good. He’s still a matchup nightmare when they line him up in the slot.
  14. Better not sleep on either one of them. Both solid football teams. Hardin county’s got a gun slinger for a QB and Creekwood has got size and a really good, hard running RB. This one could come down to whoever has the ball last.
  15. Glad to see the Jackets came out firing against Jackson South Side. They’ll need to keep it up in this one as well. Defense kept playing great, and thankfully we looked really good throwing the ball last night. Does Lexington throw the ball at all or just ground and pound?
  16. I don’t really get why we're still talking in this thread. This game, like their season, was over with last Friday. I’ll give WH a little credit, they were a few plays and probably a QB away from the playoffs. Better luck next year.
  17. I’ll take a win anyway we can get it, by any amount. JSS has played a very tough schedule and played some really good teams close. I don’t see this being a blow out by any means. My guess 7-10 points unless our offense moves the ball better than I anticipate.
  18. It’s looking like tomorrow night, weather wise, will be a repeat of last week for the Jackets. Soaking rain on Thursday and frigid temperatures on game night. Ball security is going to be of the upmost importance, and I’m hoping the bad center to QB exchanges are behind us. That’s put us in some bad spots in games this year. Definitely don’t need to get behind the chains because of it. Need to grind this one out on the ground. I know SS’s record doesn’t show it, but they are a capable team that’s always physical and fast and well coached. They will come prepared with a good game plan. The Jackets just need to keep playing stifling D and keep the ball moving on O.
  19. I’d like to see the Jackets improve on points off of turnovers. They’ve had multiple opportunities in several tough games where they had take aways and couldn’t convert them into points. We got to reward the defense for their hard work.
  20. Holt is the kids name you’re thinking about. He was a heck of a running back.
