Hey I might be totally wrong.....and I’ve been wrong many times before. It’s just my gut feeling. Nothing against Hardin County, they’ve got a great team this year. And if I’m wrong I’ll be the first to call a spade a spade, you can bet on that!

The only reason I gave Lexington the slight advantage against your Bulldogs is the coaching change and the lack of practice winder new coaches....it’s more or less a pick’em game in my mind.

Marshall County, hands down. Unless Springfield just absolutely implodes this year or the injury bug hits......no one in the region will touch them. Not to sound to brash it’s just that Springfield didn’t loose as much as everyone else did talent wise. Combine that with the deep playoff experiences plus having one of the best coaching staffs in the state......that’s just the facts of the matter.

I’ve got no skin in this game and wish the best to both teams. Milan is in the way back up and will be a tough out for anyone, but I give the slight edge to Lexington in this game. Lexington is going to turn a lot of heads this year imho. I’ve got them picked to win their region. If this game was played later in the year I’d pick Milan, but with the coaching change and covid delays I still think they’re working things out.

I agree %100, it won’t be close. Especially with the defense producing turnovers and playing to the level that they are this early in the season. Throw in that the offense is rolling; Springfield wins big.

Very true on both parts! I don’t think they’d put up 50 just because Coach Wilson will call the dogs off way before then lol

No one is trashing him personally......only thing that’s been pointed out is exactly what you stated, no coaching. I will say at some point he, Coach Pond, has to figure out that his best chance of winning is with the ball in hands of the Groves especially the older one. Same thing happened last year, he’s got to rework his offensive schemes to get the ball in his hands. Any coach worth his salt knows that......so there I guess I did trash him just a little bit now, but that’s %100 the truth any one can see it

Now back to the original question, Springfield vs Heritage. The Jackets should be at least 2 TD favorites, Heritage isn’t has good as last year. They lost a great running back and some good supporting players from last years team.

Simply put, no they won’t. They’ll finish 3rd in their region behind Watertown and Trousdale county go 5-5 and make the playoffs. The real question is could they win their region with different coaching, considering the supporting cast around him? My answer would be yes; there’s enough talent on that team with the right coaching they could compete in that region %100 with what they have. Some Watertown and Trousdale county people would disagree but that’s the facts!

He might be, considering they both are great bb players and the bb program they have over there. My point was the football staff at Springfield is much more established and far and away better than ER and they would be able to maximize their football skills.

I agree %100 about being conservative I the second half. I thought they may have been trying to get different looks for different guys since there hasn’t been any scrimmages and jamborees to test game like situations. The defense impressed me the most since we graduated all of our starting LB corp and one of our db’s. I think they should roll in week 3 tho, they look better than this time last year to me.

Man this sucks not only for the kids, but if they don’t play at all the coaches will miss out on a big percentage of their pay.....smh

I get there’s a limited number of tickets to be had, but IDing people for them is a little much. Especially when White House doesn’t own the field, and (this will P.O. some of the White House posters) the field doesn’t even sit in Sumner county. I don’t really understand how a Sumner county school can enforce this when the field belongs to the city and sits in Robertson county.

I’m curious, do the coaches still get there stipend if they don’t have a season? I coach my daughters travel softball team and I’ve coached against a MNPS head middle school coach and I posed the question to him and him said idk. Seems to me all coaches would want to have season not only for the kids but to guarantee there stipends to be paid......I guess some really don’t care tho and it’s a shame for the kids.

If I was really wanting to watch the game, and I’ve thought about going, I would drive up and park at the ball fields next to the football ball field and watch it from outside the fence. The field sits down below all the ball fields decent vantage point and it’s a public park. Just my $.02....

I agree. This JB team is much better than last years but still a couple years away from competing with top dogs in 1A, it will happen tho lots of young talent coming up. Always pulling for the Red Devils along with my Jackets

The coaching thing is very true.......wish the Groves’ were at Springfield; with the coaching staff there the sky would be the limit for both of them.

I’ll wait until after Friday to talk about this one. I do wish the Jackets could’ve found a replacement for this weeks game, I hate having two weeks off right out of the gate. I will however give my thoughts on the Heritage vs East game this week. I’m thinking Heritage gets upset by the 2A Indians, the Groves brothers have a coming out party this week on offense and they pull off the upset,
