You’re straight delusional. Being an assistant for that program I can assure you that you are way off. Ben worked tirelessly for that program. I mean four titles at the helm? Man, most coaches would be happy with one and he won four? But go ahead and think your shallow ways.

So what do you suggest? Obviously you know more than everybody else on here. But it seems that every year we go through the same garbage. And it’s always the Cleveland fans that do it. Look I’m a Cleveland alum. Tbh my class is still the most dominant class in the history of that school. 1995. We won titles in three different sports. Our football teams would have crushed anything remotely good that Cleveland has had in the last century. I’ve also have several titles as a coach for Bradley. But it always always seems to be that HCWC and Middle/High parents don’t show any respect. Show some class. I’m not doing anything different than what you are doing by beating your chest. And by taking shots at Bradley? C’mon man. And to be respectful it’s Blackmon not Bryant. I don’t think you know him personally like I do. I can call him Bryant (here’s a tidbit he’s my cousin). But I’m willing to bet that you won’t have a conversation with him or Logsdon? Just sayin I’m not trying to ruffle any feathers. He knew what he was inheriting. And if truth be known that class that graduated last year were my kids club kids. And it didn’t take long to build as long as you are willing to put in the work. Like my mantra has always been “Homegrown not transplanted”

Wrong… Ben planned several years ago to leave and give Bryant the program then. But the parents of this past Senior class talked him into staying. My picks for duals 1) Cleveland 2) Blackman 3) Summit Both Wilson Central and Bradley will struggle this year. But it is expected after the classes they graduated.

Cleveland had over a 100yds in penalties alone in the 1st half. Walker Valleys avg starts on drives were either in Cleveland territory or on their own 40-45 yd line. Not taking anything away from them. They (WV) have relied on their defense throughout the regular season. But during the playoffs it seems to be the other way around? They will throw the ball around 80% of the time and that's lowballing. The QB is a dual threat. Nobody really spectacular that can "WOW" you with breakaway speed. Just some blue-collar type of kids that are pretty resilient. Hope that answers your question(s)?

Yup…haha but leading up to tbat field goal what happened though? Field goals alone won’t beat Bama. You have to capitalize and punch it in.

Been a long time since Maryville has come in as the underdogs. The way Bradley has been playing lately it is going to be hard to beat them. It's like playing Alabama. You know field goals aren't going to beat them. Gotta get creative to get the ball in the endzone? The thing that Maryville does well is run the same 6-7 plays out of multiple sets. They are very disciplined. But on the flip side the first meeting you guys were without your RB. So that will make up some ground.

That’s a sign of a coach saving players and developing depth. That’s how you continue to build if you wanna be relevant.

Which sucks…I know that this gets kicked around every year. T$$AA takes so much away from these teams. Some of these teams I’m sure it just about kills their budgets for travel and what not? I never knew how much a team spent just to travel until I got to Bradley as far as wrestling. I’m gonna ask Monroe how much they spent on that bus back in the day for us to travel up to the Knoxville region? Haha…

I don't know if they are hitting on all 8 cylinders yet. But if they play to their abilities and limit the penalties which is their downfall at this moment, then it'll definitely be interesting. But you are right it is hard to replicate that kind of tempo. Maryville played ball control against the Raiders while Bradley used the fast tempo. Both worked. But Cleveland ball controlled and played the clock until they were forced to throw in the 3rd. Then the wheels came off. Realistically im pleased with Cleveland to getting to the playoffs. That to me was a realistic goal. They knew that it was more than likely Jeff Co but hey it is what it is. Good luck to both teams and may they play injury free.

Its because Damon has modeled his program after Monroe's back in the day. You got to build from the ground up. Starting with your youth program. And being able to run the same offense from middle school on. It simplifies things when you do all of that. Thats why Maryville has been so successful as well. George Quarles took Benny Monroe's model of success and adapted it to his program. Same as Floyd.

Maryville like others from here on out loaded the box up with 9 and dropped 2 Safeties back. They dared Cleveland to throw. Too much pressure from the front four that there really wasn’t any stunts or blitzes happening along that front. Besides Maryville’s O-Line was blowing Cleveland off the line of scrimmage

How can you hide who he is? He’s a former Tennessee RB. I don’t like the guy. But he was successful at Tennessee. And his Dad was a success at RB for the Atl Falcons. So pretty much can’t hide who he is? I’m sure that Cleveland isn’t hiding anything?

The guy in reference to is a coach on the staff. And he was training kids way before he got the job as an assistant. He wasn’t even going go coach but the opportunity opened up for him. So his kids that he trained followed. It wouldn’t have matter where he ended up at the story of recruiting would have come up? But he hasn’t recruited.

Believe me I know. I was a part of the Cleveland Dynasty in the 90's. No one is knocking Maryville. As it has been pointed out. Maryville took the success that Cleveland had on that 54-game winning streak and adapted it for itself? GQ came in and watched Monroe and took notes and then modeled it to fit Maryville.

We would all like to get back to that level. We (State Championship Teams) were joking Friday night during our social that we had if they would allow Benny to call some plays? haha...All joking aside we had athletes upon athletes as well as talent stacked upon talent. I'm not saying these current guys are not talented. But we played for one another and were like family. The other night Kevin Cobb looked at his son while I was standing there and pointed at me. He said this guy right here was an offensive lineman. Shortest guy. But this guy didn't care how big you were he was going to hit you. Cleveland will get back to those times. It just takes time and getting things established. The wrestling program is a juggernaut that has been well paid for. Those coaches have worked hard to get things established. During my coaching tenure there. We just didnt have the funds available to us during that time.
