Did some real bad back stabbing on a great person and coach that should have got him black balled from ever coaching again in East Tennessee. But he wormed his way back in somehow and is still trying to talk his way back into coaching in the area.

How long have you been following high school football in Knoxville area? RG is a long time assistant coach at various Knoxville high schools. Every time there is a new staff created he gets in the picture. Or sometime he gets in on the tail end of something and tries to pull a power move, then the whole thing falls apart and he moves on. You know works behind the scenes with players/parents and promises the world but never produces. Loved/hated but never an in-between. Won't give up that big time teaching gig, but name get mentioned for HC jobs, but never pulls the trigger because of past bad deals. Alot of people on here know him. Been hanging around since the late 90s. You'll figure it out if you have the right connections. But if you don't, you'll be better of for not figuring it out if know what l mean.

Is that Sequoyah in Madisonville, or Sequoyah in Chattanooga. I just found out there is a Sequoyah in Chattanooga (Hamilton Co). I don't know if they play football at Sequoyah in Chattanooga. It's in Soddy Daisy area of Hamilton Co. I have never seen any of their scores from any athletic competition. I would bet it's Sequoyah in Madisonville.

What is getting so exciting? This thing seems to be dying in this summer heat. Don't get your hopes up. I heard RG is trying to get back into a West Knoxville HS so he won't be so far from , well you all figure it out. People in West Knoxville should run when they see him coming, but some people (administration) have very short memories.

Can HVA players transfer to another school if the don't get a coach soon. Seems players transfer for all kinds of reasons. Maybe Powell needs some more transfer players to sit the bench behind all of their All- Stars. Maybe they should go to BHS. I heard BHS is pitiful this year. It's closer than Powell and they won't sit the bench at BHS. What about all of the big time applicants for this job? Don't tell me they found out the cubbord is empty, player pool dried up, and coaching staff is falling apart. That's why Jones left anyway wasn't it?

No not 12, just as old as you are if you look at experience with what is going on in high school football. Just wanted to see what your Powell Homer answer would be. Powell player in querston actually lived in West zone as a freshman, and he has a brother and sister at Karns now.Powell did not own it until someone turned them in. If no one turned them in, they would have no way owned it on their own. Also this player in question attends a class at Karns? Powell owns this? Their Coaching staff, AD, and administration is corrupt. Sure l know it goes on. But l would never assume that everyone is playing with out of zone players. I would never assume that if you're not playing with other schools players that you don't get much better. What, did you get that assumption of getting better by playing with players out of your zone from you experience and affiliation with the Maryville football program.

So everyone in knox county is playing with players other than the players zoned for their school? If that is the truth, is that ok, or accepted in knox county? And you think you don't get much better if your not playing with other schools zoned players? If that is true, do you think that is fair, or is it if your not cheating, your not trying? Remember Powell got caught CHEATING last year. It cost that one RB a lot of game experience. When was the last Knox County team, besides Powell, to be put on probation and had to forfiet games? Anyone know?

KF28 you sound like you were at the BHS vs SD scrimmage. I know SD is loaded, but is BHS football gone down that much. Did not BHS beat SD regular season last year?

What has happened to BHS football. Injuries, lost to much from last year, player pool dried up, or just bad coaching.

I don't think RG is still at Halls. I would not think he and Scottie would be a good match.

Covington's wing-t offense is more of a formation they run plays out of. Sweep, dive, midline option, midline lead, and triple option are the running plays l saw watching a highlight vs Alcoa in the state championship game. They were very physical and aggressive on offense especially at FB, QB, and on-line. Cleveland did not just line up in a wing-t formation, the actually ran wing-t plays. Sweep, trap, belly, criss-cross, boot, QP, etc. With multiple blocking schemes based on pulling guards. Cleveland ran those plays with precision, speed, and power. I don't know who else ran it as good. Webb has been great at it for years with real wing-t plays. Covingtons offense is more like Gibbs offense with the formation l would call a double wing. They are both good at running the ball. The FB plays seem to be the key to the offense.

Like l said, haven't seen a brawl like Overton and Antioch in Knox County in many many years.

What schools and when?

I saw the tape of the fight in the Overton vs Antioch game. I have never seen anything like that in a long time, especially not like that in Knoxville in a long time. Last time l saw a fight like that was at the Jamboree at Neyland stadium in the early 90s if l remember correctly.

I should have known better that there was not 6 full pages on Cummings going to Halls as HC. It's really no big deal after he flopped at Cleveland like everyone else since Benny Monroe. Now he is just another Knox County coach that got lucky, ran for the money, failed, now wants back in, and Knox County let's him back in. How long till he gets back to Knox West as HC? Do Halls and West play this year? Is it easier to move sideways in Knox County or could have Cummings been hired at Knox West after failing at Cleveland?

Someone on the 6A/5A thread said Fitzgerald from Meigs would probably get the job.

Who do they go after. Or will someone go to them. Is it too hard to repeat what Coach Benny Monroe did at CHS.
