Had West not poached that boy from Halls that is at Georgia Tech now, this thread wouldn't even exist. Let's quit acting like West was the 85 Bears. They had a stout two years in 2010 and 2011 after that the recruiting was the reason for their success. They hid their recruits with the IB program. Everybody knows that. That's what West fans really want is a head coach who recruits. Last time I checked its prohibited by the TSSAA to recruit in a school zone like Knox County. Kevin Lane? Is that the same guy that ran that atrocious defense at Central a while back? He might as well have signed Joel Helton's resignation papers for him. If I am not mistaken he took over the defense at West after Derek Rang left for Powell. Fastforward to the playoffs the year he took over and Derek Rang hung half a hundred on him with an inferior Powell team. It looked like a track meet out there. Aside from that you cannot teach without a teaching license. Years of service doesn't mean squat to anybody.

I don't think the Admirals play well in rivalry games. Both teams have a lot of athletes. HVA's biggest concern will be stopping that back at Farragut with the neck roll. Sucker can flat out play football. I think HVA will razzle dazzle and it will be a close one. If the game is nasty from a weather standpoint I do think that will benefit HVA. Hardin Valley is primed up to win a region championship. I'm sure Eddie Courtney will have his boys riled up too, and should be a good game but HVA has conviction. They fight like a team who is hungry and I don't think Farragut has that. I'll hang up and listen.

I think this will be a close one because I think raw talent wise both Farragut and HVA are fairly evenly matched. Farragut's lines are bigger and stronger but I am with @blazer1set it comes down to whoever wants it more. This won't go like past HVA v Farragut games. My gut tells me Farragut has this one though. HVA has had to dig down just to win a few games none of which have a winning record by the way, well if they try to dig down against Bearden they'll find out they don't have a big enough shovel. Got to travel to the beautiful Dobyns-Bennett stadium to see this match up and it was hard fought on both sides but as I have said countless times, there is something special about those Bulldogs. I saw this matchup and couldn't believe my eyes. How in the world is that Francis young man being recruited by Arkansas. Francis could have tackled Jordan Graham in the backfield multiple times but Graham left everybody in the dust. If that is what Arkansas is looking for, a guy that looks like he's trying to tackle his own shadow then good luck. SEC defenders don't look like that.

Heritage has had a rough stretch. I like Mcminn County in this one. My niece's daughter goes to Heritage she seem to think part of their struggles this year stem from losing some assistants from last year. Mainly Coach Hendricks. I think he would have been able to do a good job with the OL they have. I remember when Coach Hammondtree got the job there, I really thought he was going to be able to turn it around. Some tasks are just too daunting though. Hammondtree was the one who wrote the formula at Maryville originally. Won't be able to make it to this contest but once again I like the Dogs in this one and let me be the first one to tell you it won't be close because that Bearden team is scary.
