Everyone loves to scream politics, but in most cases it is simply the parents thinking there kid is good enough to be playing when they are not. This is not just at SCHS but most every school in the state. If you are a parent that fills your kid is not playing due to politics you should go to the next practice and watch your kid with an open mind and you would probably be able to see why they are on the sidelines and not on the field. Kids these days want to play on Friday nights but have no work ethic the other 6 days of the week. Just my opinion.

Come on back home Gentry, and bring Brady and Foster with you. We will have some talented skill players, and some potential for our lines to improve. You know your heart is black and gold, not blue devil blue and white.

I agree, Watertown has a special team this year, but they will be back to normal in a couple of years. Watertown can win by as many as they want to Friday but I would love to see this matchup continue. Go Owls.

G-ville will win by 14. They have still not played there best ball but this week they take a few steps forward. Go Owls, but go Tigers when they are not playing the Owls. Givens will have around 150 yards and the final will be 35-21..BIG BLUE.

It was fun back during the Maynard years, but I am afraid it would only be fun for the Jacket Nation now. It really does make since to play this game for both communities, even if it will probably be one sided most of the time now. Lets do it.

Go Owls, but if Hicks keeps pounding the rock I would say by middle 3rd quarter he could start getting large chunks of yards to have his breakout game. Gordonsville did the same with Givens and by the fourth quarter he was getting 8 to 12 yards a touch against the Owls.

Hey Reynard and Croz, Why is Hackett(D coordinator at Watertown ) not involved with Smith County Football?

2 good teams for sure, but there has been more. There has been several years that Smith County was ranked top 10 in the state and would meet up with Alcoa in the playoffs. I do miss the Maynard days but Coach D is a good guy and hopefully can get us back to at the least where we are dominating the region like old times.

Anyone know the series record between Smith vs Macon and Smith vs Westmoreland over the past 20 years? That would probably say all we need to know about the more dominant program out of these 3 programs. I do not know the series records but have a pretty good idea who has dominated these games the majority of the time.

I would agree. Talented group of Juniors but need better line play and team play to compete against UHS and York , but could still beat Westmoreland even on a off year.

Could be another long night for Smith County. York has been putting up some points and appears to be legit. I hope the Owls can keep this one close but it does not look good for the home team. Oh yea, why in the world is Hackett(DC Watertown) not on our sidelines ?

I do not keep up with Upperman football but 8 playoff wins in 22 years is not exactly a game changer for me. Regardless, it will be difficult for the Owls to hang with Upperman this year.

The OWLS are not mighty but have proven they can handle the blue and white regardless of talent levels. This is a great and fun rivalry but has been dominated by the Black and Gold over the past 20 years. I may be wrong but I think Croz was part of the last team that beat SC at Carthage. He played guard, end and tackle...lol.

Possibly, and I think Gville will be well coached, but even when Gville won the state they were still second best in the county. Just busting your chops Croz, I hope for a good game that is fun to watch and after Friday I will be pulling for the Big Blue the rest of the season.
