Hunters Lane will not overcome their struggles until a change in the administration happens. Until these principals get behind athletics like surrounding counties Metro will always be looked at as the backburners of football. I respect them but outsiders will not which is fine as well. CR is the only school that I've "Heard" that has supportive admin that make things happen for their programs. She loves sports especially football and look at the accomplishments they have made since her arrival. Hopefully Antioch will get a good coach that can turn that program into a respectable one again. I'd like to hear the names/ initials of who is in the running WORKINPROGRESS if you know.

Names I have heard in Metro current staffs Maplewood: Fred Burnette OC, Pearl Cohn : Damien Harris Co-OC, Stratford - Thomas Porter OC/ Interim HC, CR- Mose Phillips but he has Been HC, HL- N/A , Mcg- OC don't know his name, WC- NA, Hillsboro - Anthony Brown DC, Jamal Stewart OC, ANTIOCH N/A, Overton - N/A, Hillwood - OC if it wasn't Page ( That was impressive), East Nash- SImpson , Glencliff - N/A. Just a few names I've heard before .

The Antioch job is way more desirable than HL in my opinion. Antioch is growing and their admin isn't as bad as HL.

I agree both teams were well coached I'd like to see HC throw more they look like they have athletes on the edge but hey there are still playing for a reason. Both teams Defenses were STOUT. Congrats on a great year both programs.

The other Stratford Alum he could be referring to is not leaving Hillsboro , if he is the coach in waiting. Antioch job is a mess but a good could could change that perception if they get someone who doesn't mind starting from scratch. Overton has declined a lot but I don't know if its the coach or the student body. If Waite goes there it could cause a big carousel. I'm betting Hillwood opens up as well

Dancing and showing emotion doesn't have anything to do with sportsmanship or how disciplined a team is. This sport is full of emotion so you cant judge someone by their actions if its not disrespecting anyone . That's no different from when the sideline and assistants jump up and down with the " OOOOhhhh oooooo " chant when they score or on kick off. Some will label what " certains do as trashy and hood" but label the "ooohhhh o-o-o-o chant as acceptable" you cant pick and choose. Metro gets a lot of backlash from outsiders that don't have a clue of what it takes to coach/ teacher there. I've seen both sides and you outsider guys have it way easier. Yall have half the issue, half the headaches, half the problems and obstacles. And to deal with those on a Daily basis and prepare for a football game is no less than amazing. How man of you non metro guys have to worry about your kids eating EVERYDAY or if they are in a safe environment. Not as much as metro. So you are more than welcomed outsiders to join in the metro rankings of coaching and see how long you will last. Yall would run back to sumner, Wilson, Rutherford and Williamson in a hot flash. I have friends inside and out and they all rather take a pay cut to not deal with the metro/ MNPS headache. metro does have some good coaches that get the most out of them but also have kids with different backgrounds as well. What happened at Overton/ Antioch isn't brand new but they just got a raw deal . That doesn't mean their coach doesn't instill discipline . Hillsboro situation that could happen to anyone, seniors feel like they don't have anything to lose after their last snap, so don't go talking down on these coaches when you really don't know. CR, PC, HB, MV OV, MC , HW,SHS, WC, HL, GC, EN and everyone else deals with way more than you outsider guys. It happened several times this year that wasn't metro but yall don't try to give them a black eye. Show these coaches some respect and not harp on what you don't know .

Smh this guy is really on their staff I can tell. He doesn't respect the game of football the way he continues to belittle teams even after that railroading they received .

This game will be closer than everyone is expecting. Fairview coach is darn good and will have a good game plan for EN. I'm debating on watching this game or the CR vs Ravenwood. PC will roll past Stratford easily so I'm debating which metro game. EN-27 FV 21

I don't think this one will be close, I watched blackman this past Friday and their Oline is mauling people . I think MJ is getting all the pub again provided by their non challenging schedule. MJ will be packing it up after Friday. Great Season BHS 42 MJ- 17

I agree Antioch could be successful with the "right coach". But lets be realistic Antioch has never been anything more than mediocre . Woodward was probably the best program they have ever had. McPhail had Antioch before CR was around with a loaded team and they didn't amount to what was expected. No disrespect but Brown isn't what Antioch needs in my opinion. They need new blood with some high energy. I believe this job needs a proven coach that don't mind butting heads with CR

You said it. but that's normal by some posters on here. But him especially. I believe Peal and Hillsboro have a good chance. Maplewood gets to the Semis , and I think CR has a tough task ahead of them this year in Memphis, But who knows Good Luck to all.

Worry about your kids and your declining program because only coaches that lose constantly complain about the same issue. If nobody wants to play for you or any program that is your fault. Do a better job getting your kids and building a program. Kids want to play where you can compete/ win and coaches that care bout them.

Hillsboro 1, Beech 2, Gallatin 3, Hillwood 4..... Unless a huge upset occurs. Gallatin is dropped after overall record is assessed , then it would fall back to Beech vs Hillsboro head to head giving it to Hillsboro

It would be exciting to see CR , Pearl, HB, MW play each other . Those are high profile games ... I still think it's CR, PC, HB, MW, EN then everyone else. CR has a lot of youth on defense but still managed to be undefeated and beat some good competition. I think a 3rd round appearance again PC has played tough competition and are consistently good. Their two loses came from Good private schools. I think they will get to the 4th round. HB progressively came together and looks pretty good. They have a ton of talent . 2/3 losses came from BA AND CPA. Similar to PC last year vs Cookeville HB had 7 starters hurt/ suspended against Gallatin there aren't too many teams that can withstand that . I believe a showdown with NORTHEAST/ Henry county will be good for the 4th round Maplewood is the most offensive explosive team around . Hodges may be the most fun to watch . I watched him twice this year and he makes their offense go. It doesn't hurt that he has 3 studs at WR two are D1. Maplewood could make it to the state . East after last night they may have the best athletes I've seen all year. They are really not coached well just my opinion. Offensively the are lost. And just got intimidated by PC . Defense isnt too bad but as a whole they should be better . Good athletes make poor coaching look decent. I see a 3rd round whipping on the rematch .

I think Metro is full of talented coaches and I cant stand to see another metro school belittle kids or another program because they finally have a decent record. They will go in hiding after Friday nights game. I hope this person isn't a coach as well because its really embarrassing to see these post. MF is great with kids and cares about them that's the hype, while your coach has been recorded cussing kids out in the hallway so watch what you say.

The game hype is brewing. I think PC win this one BIG. 42- 14 … Coaching is not close. East is the most underachieving team in Metro then PC right behind, only because PC has won so many freshmen city championships you would think they would have more Gold Balls. East has always had loaded teams but constantly finish subpar. PC offensive staff is way better than East. PC defense is suspect but EN offense is all over the place. I think PC defense is better than EN backyard offense. You stop #1 then their offense is null and void. East Staff is really terrible. They definitely look like a group of youth coaches and carry themselves as such. I don't know one coach on staff that is worthy of talking about. PC OC is pretty good and knows how to get their athletes the ball. EN will lose the last two games and finish 8-2 with a second round exit. I don't have a dog in the hunt but the EN people are not use to winning they get on here and bad mouth kids and really trying to psych themselves up to really think they can win this game

Maybe cause he has been a great pioneer in Metro that won 2 states. I don't get the hype about East after looking at their schedule . They should always be good but Friday will show their true coaching against a talented PC team. RESPECT YOUR ELDERS.
